  1. Things are improving thank you Page. I have a relative that lives somewhere in the part of Michigan where you're on vacation. He's my cousin's son and I forget exactly where he and his wife live other than it's on a lake, not Lake Michigan but close, across from Milwaukee.
  2. So you'll just be goin' through the motions and groanin' for effect.
  3. I'm glad things are better for you. There were times in the past when my heart ached for you.
  4. G'day y'all. It's been a rough few days. A more intense migraine began developing on Friday morning but I had things to do prepping for faire so I popped some OTC naproxen and pushed myself. Then of course there was the first day of faire on Saturday. More naproxen more pushing. They packed me off home early. In the wee hours of Sunday morning the storm in my head exploded. Had to resort to the haldol. By morning things seemed better so pushed through another faire day. Packed off home early again. Monday morning seemed better. I had some things I wanted to get done so ... by Monday afternoon I admitted to my idiocy and spent the time resting in the shade with the pup. Tuesday I was supposed to go to Philadelphia to see the doc. I got a start on getting ready and then rethought that. I go by train to avoid driving and parking in Center City. There was no way my head would tolerate the rattle and shake of the train followed by walking about in the heat and humidity. Instead I surrendered to the sedatives. They don't make the headache go away, they just allow me to sleep and tend to linger in my system for 36 hours or so. Usually that allows the headache to run it's course. Yesterday the sime total of my acheivements were taking Thistle for an abbreviated walk, taking a shower, taking a two hour nap, going to the optometrist to have new lenses put into my eyeglasses ... these have properties that not only block UVA and B but also intense white light could be a factor in easing migraine, and most importantly eating a not quite pint of Swiss chocolate almond ice cream for dinner. This morning we took another shortened walk, just a bit over a mile instead of nearly 3 miles. Then I put the bedding through the laundry and hung it in the sunshine to dry. Ate some leftover bacon-cheese quiche and now we're relaxing.
  5. Mum is well. I expect to talk with her later this morning. We usually chat on the phone once a week. I'll give her your regards. She'll be pleased. I can relate to physical issues as you know. Sometimes I sink into a "woe is me" mindset ... I'm actually there at the moment, last few days were rough ... and need to remember my value is not in what I can do but in who I am.
  6. I'm well aware of your struggle. I wish you could value yourself as highly as mum does. In her heart you are priceless. Have been since she first heard mention of you.
  7. Did you study? Actually good luck.
  8. You need to acknowledge your own worth before others will. Now as I've said before Namasté little brother. You do remember why I use that particular reference, yes?
  9. I'm around @Carlos Hazday. @Kitt is correct the weather has been playing havoc with my migraines. I've just come off a multi-day one that required heavy meds. G'day to rest o' you lot.

    Chapter 3

Hmmm, Tim Kelly is a damned ignoranus (yes, I'm well aware the word is spelled ignoramus but I think my spelling fits better).
  11. You're gonna have so much fun ... Was it last summer you visited with them?

    Unconditional

This chapter was very well done.
  13. I had hopes to do some housekeeping chores, laundry and such. However, after taking Thistle for an abbreviated walk have decided bedrest is the order for the first part of the day at least. I pushed too much this past weekend when this migraine started. There were things I felt had to be done so I did them and am paying the consequences. I spent yesterday medicated and the majority of it asleep. I'll sleep some more today and hopefully that will put things right.
  14. G'day Marty. Not yet thanks, but soon I hope.
  15. Sounds a wonderful change of space for you. Congrats.
  16. G'day y'all. Despite my plans I am not up to a train trip to Philadelphia. Nothing like cancelling a trip to the migraine specialist because of a goldarndamdramed migraine. It will be meds and back to bed for me, once I can call and cancel the appointment.
  17. I thought at 4500 words the chapter needed fleshed out a bit. With 4800 it should be perfect.
  18. See great minds at work. Only difference is one of us knows how to spell.
  19. It's not just on Monday mornings.
  20. 7:30?!? Why by then the sun has risen. The birds have chirped and the morning is nearly half gone.
  21. Well then there will not be the other ingredients for your bread or cake ... just a protien shake.
  22. Yum yum yummy Solent Green. One would think they would try a name a little less similiar.
  23. Interesting, just where are you taking us?
  24. I was an seventeen-year-old college freshman when I read The Persian Boy and The Frontrunner. I was devastated when Billy was killed. The differing perspectives exemplifies the differing maturities and the growth of both young men. I was disappointed to learn that Toby was such a jerk.

    Chapter 7

The simple answer ... yes. It's not that I suspect that Lowry of coming out as homosexual but rather coming out as being a far more colorful personality than he'd ever been allowed to express before.
