  1. Hi. Missed you.
  2. Bought mine in 2000. Mum got a new one five years ago. It's smaller than the previous one she had for 15 years. That one was donated and sold at her church's yard sale the following spring.
  3. The tree I bought my ex for our first Christmas after we married in 1980 was a balled white pine tree about 3'5 feet tall. It was her very first Christmas tree. Her family never had one. Interestingly the next year her younger sister bought one and there has been one ever since. In the spring we planted it at her parents home. It is still growing and nearly 30 foot tall.
  4. Prrhaps you could text her ... maybe send her a gif.
  5. Seems to work for me.
  6. A very well known brand in this part of the world.
  7. Greetings Albert. Saddly, I'm waiting for the meds to kick in. After our walk this morning I took myself out to brekkie thinking I deserved a treat. I barely returned home when a terrible migraine took hold. This is the second in roughly 48 hours. Doesn't bode well for the effectiveness of the new med.
  8. Homemade strawberry jam, yum. I had planned to make some but the time and harvest passed me by.
  9. G'day y'all. Last night's storm passed with little fanfare, mostly rain. Though the high is forecast to be in the low 80's/27 it's still very warm and muggy this morning. We're off for our walk.
  10. Knowing the forecast had a cold front passing through this evening I just took a look at the weather radar. There is a line of strong storms about 50mi to the WNW. The temp is up to 92/33° but feels like 101/38°. Whether the temps and humidity become more comfortable is the question as the front is expected to stall just to the SSE. Hopefully no extreme winds or hail. Time will tell.

    Chapter 5

Well, that didn't end as I expected. Just what is the source of Lane's ability/power? It seems diametrically opposed to the darkness. Hopefully we'll learn more in Maine.
  12. No rain yet today. Just blazing sunshine. It's currently 91/33° but feels like 99/37°. I wasn't going to do any work outside today. So I spent 2 hours this morning relaying border stones around the beds in the lower garden. Now my head and back ache. But at no time were any chairs endangered by my foolishness. Though eventually I settled my butt in one and enjoyed the shade with Thistle for an hour.
  13. I missed being there for that one by a week. My youngest brother-in-law was married in the chapel at Stanford University the previous week.
  14. Yes, they're saying the first was actually a foreshock to last night's and another one in the 6 magnitude is very possible.
  15. G'day y'all. Warm and muggy again this morning. Off to walk the pup.

    Lacking Means

I call it playing in the dirt.

    Lacking Means

He might rather think it best to leave for Eric who is still very capable of planting his garden. It may not go as fast but it will still happen. From my experience completing a project though it might wear me out and aggravate my migraines still does the soul good. It means I haven't surrender my life to my disablement. In Eric's case, aging.

    So have you taken heed?

    Lacking Means

The lads seem to have a plan of sorts concerning Felicity until something more can be done. Being someone with a small storage box of gardening hand tools that I refer to as my "toybox"I can understand Erics frustration with finding himself without the tools for planting. It made prefect sense to me that Eric subtituted serving spoons as emergency equipment. My garden toys include a complete place setting of fork, knife and spoon, they're just right for working in small pots. Plus they were far less expensive then those sets of tiny gnome-sized garden tools. Erics acknowledgement of his being cantankerous and making apologies is an improvement in his social skills. As is his acceptance of the invitation to dinner to celebrate his birthday. He really is very appreciative of the positive changes that Andy and Adam have wrought in his life. The hug he and Andy shared was heartwarming.
  20. Maybe he has fairy dust in an unmentionable place and it's making him itchy.
  21. I know you'll be careful just be sure to warn Cookie and the cats to stay out from underfoot. Do you have a limit on how long you can be out it?
  22. Why does everybody say this is the end of the story? Hell it's only inauguration day there's so much more life to live for these people ... An excellent chapter in the ongoing saga of César Marcos Abéllo, Jr.
  23. G'day y'all. It is so warm and muggy that we cut our walk in half, just 1.25mi. No yard chores today. I need to rest my back and I've earned a brief respite ... and my head hurts.
  24. People ask me the same thing when I spend time with mum. People think that if you're spending more time then a brief vacation that you're thinking about moving there and hope you like it and them.
