This is so fascinating. I have very little idea of where this is going and the subtle little hints are driving me crazy. I love this protagonist. This section right here just about broke my heart: A hand brushed my forehead. It was warm and grounding. I wanted to lean into it. Wanted it to mean something, like maybe I knew her. I can't imagine how terrifying it would be to wake up in those circumstances and know nothing about yourself or your life. I look forward to figuring things out with him.

The days continued to pass, and Malik’s routine became so easy, so predictable, that when it was broken a few weeks later, Malik wasn’t sure what to think.
