Homecoming Part 2: Left, Right, Left
Jwolf commented on Jwolf's story chapter in Homecoming Part 2: Left, Right, Left
I hate to break up the fans so early, but it feels like there's a Team Pete and Team Mike thing going on here. Honestly, I don't think Mike meant anything by his gesture more showing Corbin what he already knows: he's there when he can be. I LOVE that you have Ninja Turtle PJs! I've always wanted a set with feet. Thanks for the review! See you next week -
Homecoming Part 2: Left, Right, Left
Jwolf commented on Jwolf's story chapter in Homecoming Part 2: Left, Right, Left
Hey Rosicky! I'm so glad you're enjoying the story. That means a lot. And thanks soooo much for the review. I love reading your thoughts, especially because it sounds like you've been there/done that to some extent. The "I'm not gay" type really is the most annoying, isn't it? some very interesting theories about why Pete is so reluctant to jump, so to speak. And some interesting predictions about Pete and the crew team. I won't tell you what you're on the right track about, but I'm sure you'll love the next chapter... thanks again! -

Hey Louis! I'm so glad you enjoyed the story! I've been waiting to hear what you've thought of it so far. I can't answer your hubby's question of why just yet, but it'll come out eventually. Until then...! Thanks for the review -

Thanks for the review! Some answers coming up really soon, but until then, we'll see what happens. -
I wanted so badly to lie to him. I wanted to tell him that, no, it wasn’t the cadet he’d just seen me walk out the front door with. But I couldn’t. Who else could it have been? Who else would be walking behind me, wearing a crisp white uniform, holding onto my lower back? So I didn’t lie. I told him the truth. “Yeah, that was him,” I said casually, as if it was no big deal at all. “Oh,” Pete replied, looking at me. I tried as hard as possible to look into his eyes and read his thoughts, but I

Writing Tip Writing Tip: Character Interviews
Jwolf commented on Renee Stevens's blog entry in Writing World
This is amazing advice! I remember doing these when I was in a playwriting class, and it really helps shape your characters into 360 degree people. I can't believe it's been so long since I've used this tool, but it really is helpful . Thanks CIA. -
Homecoming Part 1: That Kind of Thing
Jwolf commented on Jwolf's story chapter in Homecoming Part 1: That Kind of Thing
HI! Can I just say I'm so so glad you used the word 'tres obvious?' That's going in a future chapter for sure! I agree with you on Mike the Cadet. He doesn't really offer Corbin much more than a little companionship, but expect that to get a little deeper very very soon. I'm not going to tease anything, but Mike steps up in a big way, and I hope you like it. I just sent the next chapter to the editors, so... expect an update soon -

Addicted? Wow... that's high praise. Thank you so much for following the story. Don't worry, you'll know where the story is headed when it gets there -

Homecoming Part 1: That Kind of Thing

I think figuring out why Corbin attracts these confused guys. I won't tease too much, but its definitely a theme in his relationships. I will say, mister's actions weren't written accidentally. More soon -
Homecoming Part 1: That Kind of Thing

Hey Conner! Glad you enjoyed the chapter. It was definitely intentional to make Mike the anti-thesis of Pete. What's funny is that I'm writing about conversation and events that really did happen, and at the time I had no clue how much of a contrast Mike and Pete were. Now, it's like duh! Anyway, keep reading the story, and I'm sure your curiousity will be satiated... at least in epilogue -
Homecoming Part 1: That Kind of Thing
Jwolf commented on Jwolf's story chapter in Homecoming Part 1: That Kind of Thing
That's the thing about Mike that I have to try and capture from real life and put into the story: he sneaks up you. You'll watch him start to soften all of the people that Corbin introduces him to. You don't really know why, but you end up liking him for some reason. I think that's what grabbed Corbin in the first place. Anyway, more soon, and thanks for the review! -

Hey SW! Thanks for the review. I always appreciate hearing from you. That's a big compliment, saying you feel like one of the brothers. I'm really glad that I've been able to make Corbin's struggle so real for you. There is a method to it all, and the next chapter is huuuuuge. HUGE. I hope you'll enjoy it. Thanks again! -
The next afternoon, after showering, eating a carb-loaded lunch, and packing a study bag, I ventured onto campus to find my friend Amanda. I had texted her shortly after I’d woken up to tell her that I was alive and well, and that I’d made it home safely. She told me she’d be studying in the commons, and so after dodging my brothers, whom I still hadn’t seen since they’d thrown me into a pool of water, I walked onto campus to find her. “You’re dry,” she smi

Hey Pal! I was wondering where you'd run off to. Glad you enjoyed the chapter. I so agree with the communication aspect, and sadly that IS the story between these two. But, that changes soon, when things are laid out pretty heavily. Until then, next week is Homecoming and I hope you enjoy it! The chapter will be coming up soon, and I think it's a doozy. Thanks for the review

I think you're spot on about guys and communication. At this point, I think Corbin has a lot of pride as well that's holding him back. We'll see if they get it together soon. Thanks for the review!
-
Homecoming is going to be a doozy, Ms. Carrie! I won't tell what Corbin has planned, but it's going to shake things up quite a bit. I'm definitely going to consider what Pete would be thinking reading Corbin's articles... I hadn't considered that before. Until next time!
-
Thanks so much secretsides! That's a very good question, one that I hadn't thought about yet, but I'll definitely ponder here moving forward. Thanks again for the review!
-
Hey Rosicky! Thanks so much for the review. Greatly appreciated. You're right... Corbin is addicted to that Brit, isn't he? And don't write Nick off as a distraction just yet... who knows what might happen. I hope to hear more about what you think moving forward!
-
I'll try to get the next chapter out here pretty soon. It's mostly written, and who can resist a good retelling of homecoming weekend. I agree with you on Amanda. I don't think she was being mean, but simply observant. We know she spends a lot of time with Pete, and she's good friends with Corbin, so she really sees both sides. Anyway, more soon!
-
Haha! I would love it if you poured yourself something tropical. The story is, and will remain, about Pete and Corbin. But I do hope that there's enough going on around them to make it interesting until we get there. sounds like it! More soon...
-
Oh wow! Thanks so much for the kudos. I know that it was a back and forth episode, but things balance out here very very soon. Pete is most definitely not an asshole, although his mixed signals make him seem... contradictory. thanks for the review and thanks again for the nom vote!
-
You're about Corbin doing things to the extreme, but I will say that in this case, it's probably just hard for him to be around Pete without slipping backwards. Regardless, I agree that these two need help. Glad you enjoyed!

Things in life, much like breakfast eggs, can be categorized in two ways: over easy, and over hard. And as ate my eggs over easy the next morning at brunch with the guys, I realized that most things involving boys were over the hard way. “You’re quiet, Corbin,” Hutch observed as I picked at my plate of migas at Blue Roof Café. “Huh?” I replied, looking up. “You’re quiet. You look like you got dumped last night,” Austin chimed in. I looked at the guys and briefly flashed back to the life decis

The Second Cut is the Deepest
Jwolf commented on Jwolf's story chapter in The Second Cut is the Deepest
Haha. It's on the way! I agree that they need some sober interaction, which they get soon. But that doesn't necessarily straighten things up, so to speak. Remember their study party?? And Dakota's work isn't done because she's come and gone. I agree that she may feel slightly entitled, but I don't think it's in a malicious way at all. More on that to come as well.
