I'm glad that Jason kept a cool head with the Italian stallion. In some ways taking him up on the one-night stand and then regretting it would also be in line with Jason's character development, but I like that you are showing that he's already stronger than that. Very good reaction scene with Corey. I'm hoping that Jason's continued twinges of pain aren't a sign of ongoing problems, but maybe another professional visit with Corey will help things along for them both in sorting out their issues. Nice work!

Another great chapter! I am so glad Kraig's father isn't an issue. Still so much mystery about what happened to Kraig, the people who did this to him, and whether or not it is a larger threat. As an aside, you've referred to Kraig's mother as both Lydia and Linda in this chapter... Great work!

Some progress for David! Randy called him out on his automatic 'I can't be gay' shield. With his fantasies and everything else, David really does seem to know he needs to sort himself out. This conversation with Randy was a good thing for him. The question now is whether or not the timelines David is setting out for himself are the ones he really should be following, for both his sake and the sake of the others around him. Oh yeah, and Alex's mom is a bitch. If someone's parent treated me like that more than once, I'd apologize to the girl/boyfriend and walk out.

Just curious. I know Hunter is with me as a fan. I've been playing the games since Super Smash Bros. Melee (i.e. I played a translated ROM of FE6 before FE7 was released, the first to come to North America). FE stories have had varying levels of quality, but since FE6 have had relatively good character development through support and/or base conversations. They never cease to amuse me and get multiple playthroughs so I often cap out at +/- 600h of play for each game. Awakening really increased the profile of the series, and the marriage system in Awakening and Fates has produced a mass increase in fanfic, weeabooism, waifu and husbando fights, etc. so I'm also curious to see if there are more people who have been playing before the 3DS era, or more people who've been aboard for longer.

More world building, and more easy companionship between these two. I am glad we are learning a bit more about them before they become overwhelmed with the problems of Tobyn's pack.

Sigh. Dayne, you never cease to make me happy with your words. Your characters all have such individualized voices and they interact with one another in such distinct ways. I like that you are easing us into the kink with Efrain and Cory, and curious to see where you are taking it. We've met Efrain's family; are we going to get to meet Cory's in the near future? Hmm. This the first time I've posted a review to your stuff, isn't it? Probably, since I only started reviewing recently.

Another great chapter! Lots of progress with the meeting, although not too many surprises. Your writing style definitely keeps what could be dreary governance proceedings from being a snore.

Sam and his lefty friends have escaped. I can't wait to see more of their reactions as they come to terms with a world that is very, very different from the backwards, stuck-in-time community that they lived in. The process for being admitted into foster care will be trying on them, I'm sure. I hope that none of them end up having trouble with it and are rejected for whatever reason. That would be tragic. The trouble back home seems to be brewing into an ever greater storm, with another Pastor now siding against Farrow. The community is falling apart at the seams, and things are only going to get worse before they get better... Great work!

This story never ceases to get my heart beating. This was a great chapter, giving us some of Jason's reflection on the terrible events of the past chapter. And now a storm with Denise is on the horizon. What will Jason do? I hope he's less of a coward than Paul perhaps suspects him of being. And we have the mystery of who is stalking Jason to progress further... or is that going to remain a veiled threat in the background for now? Dealing with Denise will definitely be enough of a punch to the gut for one chapter as it is. Poor Jason.

The boys just can't seem to stop attracting new hanger-ons through their kind and selfless actions. Very curious to see how things are going to go with the estranged brother. Sam and Nick once again are taking the higher road by accepting the invitation, but Nick needs to give his brother a bit of credit that they extended the invitation in the first place. Maybe this will mark a turning point in their relationship? Though, perhaps won't turn out as well as they had with Sam's sister...

I know Dean's got work obligations and all, but going back to his home right now just seems like a disaster waiting to happen. Victoria's mysterious foul scent definitely spells trouble for Dean, whether from her directly or from those who she associates with. The local pack Alpha might not really have Dean's back but at least she gives some modicum of taking the situation seriously since the wolf monitoring Dean is violating her lands. I'm glad Jon is staying with Dean for the night.

The party will definitely demonstrate that the cracks in their relationship might be bigger than either has thought. It will definitely be an inciting moment for the story.

Thanks! I'll be toying with perspective a fair amount, and David's perspective on people (especially Mike) at a given time will colour things. Sometimes what one perceives is not, in fact, the truth or it is only partially true. Sometimes we are blind to things, and sometimes willfully so. Give Mike a chance to be himself and see what you think of him as the story moves forward.

Thanks! I'm hoping I can capture a sense of how the ordinary in one's daily life can be extraordinary when you are caught up in the middle of things when difficulties come along. Or, how some things that may seem ordinary at a particular time are perhaps not at all ordinary. I'm not sure whether that's a good goal, or whether I'll succeed but we'll see how it goes.

St. John definitely has anger issues, but right now it's been just under a month since Dominik left. John's 36, and he met Dom when he was 19 or 20. They have been friends, best friends and later lovers. After such a long relationship, I can sympathize with still being in the anger stage of grieving after a month has passed. John is a passionate person. Despite being a troublemaker in high school, he has always been driven to succeed at what he puts his mind to and that includes taking up causes like Magneto's war against unpowered humans as an impressionable teen. In X3, John shows how willing he is to make himself into what he thinks he needs to be for his efforts to succeed - in this case, he makes an effort to turn himself into what he sees as a badass villain and perfect soldier for Magneto. It will be interesting to see how this expresses itself now that he is an adult.

Ah, I see how you and skinny were led off course now. Gonna make a tiny change in the first paragraph so that readers are sure it is John talking. The reason for referring to himself in the third person is that John has needed to distance himself from his past in order to take his first steps moving forward with his life after Freedom Force is disbanded. We will learn more about that part of John's life as time passes. Whether or not he ever reclaims that identity, who knows what the future holds?

Well, I am glad you found it and I do hope you enjoy it as things go forward. I have 40+ chapters written and more to come, queued up to publish weekly on Sunday mornings so stay tuned, same Bat Time, same Bat Channel. The entire story is written from St. John's point of view, this chapter included, as they take on the form of his own journal entries. We will eventually learn more about Dom's motivations and the reasons behind his actions right out of his mouth, but that will take the backseat for quite a while once we get out of this introductory period where John is entirely focused emotionally on the breakup and practically on making ends meet. Warmth was definitely the theme this chapter, that and observation. Interesting contrast of Toph healing relationships with his brothers a bit while they see the two boys struggling with the one's parents extreme religious beliefs that is driving a wedge between the boy and his family. You really are good at making those subtle comparisons without forcing them upon the reader.

Interesting chapter. We're pushing the time frame ahead. Vicente is, in the end, coming around to not being a dick. Bryce on the other hand... Devin has a lot of internal work to do in addition to choosing which battles to fight. The progress with Vicente is really the only thing that happens in this chapter. Everything else, other than the random freak out by Amelia, is just a continuation of the status quo. Amelia could give you an interesting arc, and I am wondering how you are going to use her. Then again, Teresa disappeared into the aether after her initial appearance.

It's 101! Twoey needs to start reading Erik 101, because oh my god I thought he was starting to see something was up, but no. We go back to blissfully drifting along and letting Erik control him. David... David has a lot of small things happen, but not as much of a unified theme today. I feel like today was in someways tossing a couple things into lockboxes while getting prepped for his next big efforts - talking to Keating again, and maybe actually figuring some things out that will help Twoey. With everything else in his head, getting confirmation from Gary that, yes, shady business was the cause of the 5-some's deaths may give David some closure, but part of me wonders if this will only be another mental scar of one sort or another. The clock is ticking, David! Why aren't you getting your Danny consultations in?

Another amazing chapter. I love how you are giving Kye nuanced changes in how he is responding to things. The conversation with Tareth at the end has been long in coming, but it it all the right notes. I had been suspecting get some foul play on the part of Kye's father, but the man is even more callous and avaricious than I thought. It will be interesting to see what the brothers do about him, with or without Ash and Row'so support, and whether or not something like that may play into the hands of Barrett
