The assertion for independent thinking and decision making. The response by Mom was that she was not going to give up her "little boy." There were times when we just had to stand up to parental babying. Right or wrong, Mac felt this was one of those times, regardless of who might be around... Perhaps because of who was around.

Battle-hardened? A 13-year-old who has now been in a single battle makes him "hardened?" I suppose our definitions are different. Oh, they are not ghosts. Ghosts don't have bodies. If you have read Kandric or Crags, you would know that they are generally called, Dead Walkers.

Yup... A very enjoyable chapter! The way Adam has been portrayed, up to now, I had figured he would be put off by the impromptu breakfast. Yet you seamlessly wove him into this crazy family without Adam becoming the stodgy individual he could have become! 👍

That's a possibility. I never had any, so Ben deserves something! I moved around too much. Sometimes 3 schools a year. Never had time for real friends. Yeah, I think so too. Four chapters in and things are starting to gel!

I do like the way this rewrite is going. The character development is much better. The storyline is more believable. All these small and mundane details of transitioning to a real Baron, are paying off in a better story, overall.

The makeup of rural communities is generally more conservative. Then you add religion to the mixture... the closet is a safe place for most gay people in this setting.

A bit of an update, for those of you waiting for the next chapter! I have just finished reading a partial chapter 34... I say partially because of the sidenotes within the chapter of scenes Kyle wants to include in this next chapter. Since the current word count is 83,505 (and 244 pages), it will not be a short chapter. Hopefully, it won't be as long as chapter 33! When will it be done? Only Kyle knows and he is not saying...

Unless I'm mistaken, you nod your head to say, "Yes." You shake your head to say, "No." Ah, but Ben highly suspects! Why else does he need to use the toilet and remarks that they need to talk, as he leaves.

I have seen a couple of off-broadway versions and the film. Better yet, I have the double album (records - remember them?), which I've played only twice. Once to record on tape and later on to record on DVR.

Stormy Weather Wines LLC is a high-end winery in SA. Because of Matt's initial selling price, I looked for a high-priced wine that would accompany him. It also went along with the gloomy mood of the weather. I'm also one of those who wonder why Andrew wasn't there to receive his "property." Leaving the reception to Maeve seems rather strange, to say the least.

I can't provide much in the way of Aussie singers, but stuff like JC Superstar and Hair were not rock operas... At least not to me. I cut my musical teeth on Tommy. The first time I read this chapter and this time... I laughed! I smiled! I just knew that Guy and Tim were made for each other. It was as plain as the nose on my face. Let's not forget about Ben! Such a friend I wish I had, growing up. Instead, I had to hide everything.
