    Chapter 3 - Adam

Two Countries (one being a commonwealth or should I use the archaic term, commonweal?) separated by a common language...

    Chapter 6

And we can identify which elephant it is. But yes, it is a common problem. Some parents aren't intelligent enough to think that one of their children could be "one of them!" Instead, they just keep mouthing off <-- Sorry, the topic is a bit close to home. For the time being his life is saved. Direct confrontation with "Daddy" will not solve anything. Scott would have to "out" Justin. Without getting some kind of concession from the father, what will it solve? There's no easy path here, as long as people continue to think being Gay is a choice.

    ... And run-on sentences! LOL!

    Chapter 3 - Adam

Good solution. But this is no different than when I edit a story from a Kiwi or an Aussie, I encounter spelling errors with words like "realisation" vs. "realization" (just to show one). That generally tells me to switch my dictionary to British English, which I do forget to do sometimes!

    Chapter 3 - Adam

Disparity of Language! In American English, the Ground floor is the 1st floor. It used to confuse me when I read of someone entering a building and taking a stair up to the 1st floor... Only for a while, though.

    Chapter 3 - Adam

That's the second floor, I'm guessing. If we spend too much time on the ground floor, it would be helpful to have that also. I have always visualized the books I read as if they were movies. But I also think that books are so much better. My characters never look what the movie characters look like! The letters moving back and forth mean there will be some time before they meet. A slow romantic build-up.

    Chapter 6

I cannot fathom walking into that world. I know some Journalists and authors do such crazy things. This is beyond the pale to me. Walking into a situation where I might become the very commodity I am writing about? The tension is palpable. Hah! #1 on 2!!!

    Chapter 5

And yet, Justin's father was crying in front of Scott, when talking to him about Justin. Square that with his actions towards Justin himself.

    Chapter 17

I'm certainly enjoying this jealous play between Josel and Zdain. It's rather obvious that they actually like each other if it weren't for their stations in life. Zdain however is very paranoid. Leaving Marta's house for someplace somewhere else does not appear to be a good idea. They are where Josel's father told them to be. That alone should have allayed Zdain's mistrust. I could be all wrong and time alone (and more chapters) will tell.
  10. I believe it to be more than thinking outside the box. It is thinking that there is a box at all. In the mortal world, this is where the "box" is created, I think. Each person's "box" is different according to the beliefs and teachings they learn. At some point, the teachings become the beliefs and further reinforce the "box."

    Chapter 13

I wish to never have to live through those times, ever again. It was because of the religious right as well as the puritanical bent of the US that the government refused to take the virus seriously. Not until children (usually with leukemia) caught the virus through blood transfusions, did anyone start complaining. Those of you too young to remember, you owe it to yourselves to get acquainted with that history... Because it is our history. And there is the hope I was looking for! @Ronyx, I am looking forward to more chapters of this story. As always, you have captured my heart.

    Chapter 42

I'm this far into the story, so I'll muddle through to the end. However... Mark is exactly the Patsy I've called him. Suckered. Hook. Line. And Sinker. This was planned by Kyle, all along. Mark fell for it, not even giving it a second thought. Trust is something that when lost may never be regained.

    Chapter 36

I agree, wholeheartedly. This was a really stupid move on Mark's part. I think the word you really mean is ... Trust. Loyalty is one of the elements of trust.

    Chapter 35

Patsy - noun. , Slang. , plural pat·sies. a person who is easily swindled, deceived, coerced, persuaded, etc.; sucker. a person upon whom the blame for something falls; scapegoat; fall guy. So far, this is still Mark.

    Chapter 19

Let's face it. Mark not only doesn't know anything about relationships, he's scared to death about them. Things were never that black and white. It is a shame that there are folks (straight and gay) who cannot see the infinite shades of gray between them.
  16. Al Norris

    Chapter 14

He's worse. His so-called excuse(s) sound hollow and don't pass the smell test. Mark is a patsy.
  17. Al Norris

    Chapter 13

A simple note or text is all it would have taken. Ross isn't stupid, he has to know how he left Mark and what it would look like. He has to know that by not saying a word to Mark for over a week would do to any relationship that might have been. At that, if it had been me, I would have told him where to stick his job and walked out. No one deserves that kind of treatment. No one.

    Chapter 10

Okay, my previous comments, wherein I might have seemed to like where this was going with Ross... I take it all back.
  19. Al Norris

    Chapter 9

    Hmm, things are looking up?!
  20. Al Norris

    Chapter 8

I hate it. I really, really hate it. Ross is a take-charge kinda guy (his company, so yeah!), and Mark is falling for it. I hate it, I tells ya!

    Chapter 24

My tour in Vietnam taught me a lot. I've never needed to use that knowledge, but there is always a first time.
  22. Al Norris

    Chapter 5

Maybe. Perhaps... But it was too close to rape to be comfortable. I'm back to Ross being an Entitled Ass.
  23. Al Norris

    Chapter 4

Hmm, perhaps there's a saving grace to the big guy after all (god I hate to admit that)! 🤭
  24. Al Norris

    Chapter 2

Yeah, I was aware. Yet I still make it a habit of commenting as if it was entirely new... Which to me, it is! 😁
  25. Al Norris

    Chapter 2

Not the way to treat an employee, even if they are under contract. Way too many people who think "might makes right." I really hate these "team building" things. So this would have soured me even more.
