    Chapter 2 S1

A little kissing, a bit of touching... Start of a romance there! And then it just ends with Devin and his family moving away. I don't think Mickey bought that bridge. It does make me wonder about that cat, though. Like scrubber, I think the sudden move was to protect the family.

Pretty simple. You are no longer considered a member of the family. Homophobes, or other bigoted types, are really simple at destroying whatever relationship existed.

For all of you wondering how Cassidy could do that to her own brother... I'm the oldest in a family of 6 siblings. A sister knows I'm gay and is okay with it. A brother knows and doesn't care. My other two sisters and another brother won't have a thing to do with me. I only came out to them a couple of years ago but at 72, I could give a shit. I can only imagine what it would have been like if I had come out back in the 60s. With so many in America still living in their Puritanical/Elizabethan/Evangelical mindset, this kind of thing doesn't surprise me. This is not just a "small town" attitude. It is prevalent throughout the US. Now I have to grind my teeth, while we wait another week to see if Trevor finds the lycan who helped with the beatdown of Seth.

    Chapter 1 S1

Nice start to a new story, Bill. My take is that Devin is either a shifter or an illusionist. Regardless, this "new genre" is a change from many of your more recent stories.
  5. I am pleased that you ended this in an upbeat manner. I am more than happy that you survived!

    Learning the Ropes

My take is that it doesn't so much as remind us of this stuff, it's that too many hear about stuff but don't really believe it goes on. You don't hear about the Castro District of the 60s and 70s anymore.

As far as we may think we have progressed, your statement shows we have so much further to go.

Um, there are wolves and there are wolves... Yeah, research! That's what it is... Research, er, summer internship for that elusive Ph.D.!!!

Like some of the other readers, I too suspect that something is just lurking in the background. Nice chapter. Flowed very well.

I caught your meaning, Mike. What was interesting was the gutter the others found themselves in!

I wholeheartedly agree. Something more should be done to the McKinney's when it's found that ANY pack monies have trickled into and out of their hands.

This is hardly a political debate. Article I, Section 8, Clause 17: To exercise exclusive Legislation in all Cases whatsoever, over such District (not exceeding ten Miles square) as may, by Cession of particular States, and the Acceptance of Congress, become the Seat of the Government of the United States, and to exercise like Authority over all Places purchased by the Consent of the Legislature of the State in which the Same shall be, for the Erection of Forts, Magazines, Arsenals, dock-Yards, and other needful buildings; The above is why it would require an amendment. D.C. is hard-coded into the Constitution.

The only point of contention about D.C. becoming a state is that it would require a constitutional amendment. That is an extremely tough road to follow.

Yeah, there seems to be a movement to add 10 S. E. Or. counties to Idaho. I hadn't heard about N. Ca. counties. I do know that the Idaho legislature is looking at the Oregon additions. Still, it would take the US Congress to approve any such move. And that's assuming that the Oregon legislature approves.

Only if your feet are also hairy!
  17. It appears that at least one other vampyre didn't get the memo that Professor Vlad is courting William.
  18. One could almost think that Williams was surrounded by vampyres!

Correct. Cliffies do not always have to be at the end of a chapter. Why yes... Yes, you did (see above). Of course, you also know that the "Shannon Thing" is going to bug everyone until you decide to clue us all in. Lol!!!
  20. This is getting fun!
  21. I still can't believe that nobody said, Ko-Ko-Nutt! ANYTHING with chocolate is wonderful... Even a Mounds bar! (looks straight at kbois)

    The Final Straw

@zanoGreen, should you ever write another stroy like this, there is one thing you just have to remember... Blood Gets Everywhere! Cody, Alex, Elliot, and Jon will all be covered in the stuff. Riley and Ryan also, but less than the others. It will be all over the impromptu backboard, the table in the basement and the bed upstairs. Nobody took showers, so they are all still in those bloody clothes. Computer? Bloody. Couches & chairs? Bloody. I know... as you write, a lot of these 'little' details get lost. Just stop and think it through. Other than that, the chapter was fast paced with a lot of emotion. Two thumbs up from me!

    The Fugitives

It's a good thing I run a Linux system and I'm used to working with text. I simply copied everything (ctrl-A)(ctrl-C) and pasted it into my text editor (ctrl-V). I then set the search and replace to find every hard return (regular expression = \n) and replace it with two hard returns (regular expression = \n\n).... Viola! Perfectly formatted. Yeah, a rather geeky thing to do, but it works. I don't know if you Mac or MS users can do that with the text editors you guys use. Anyway, the chapter was paced rather well for all the action that was involved.

    The Plan

It was the way everything else had been setup. Then it clinched it for me when the General was so nonchalant about Boomer being MIA. Um, I'm thinking it will take more than talking. Something is rotten in that Republic and it's higher than the General.
