What happens when you don't enjoy the life you have? When you don't see the beauty in anything? Well for one servant it is the chance to change his life, for a King it is the opportunity for a wife and a child, for a Queen the chance to have it all, and for child to be blessed and cursed. Another twisted retelling of a Grimm's Fairy Tale.

People who let their animals loose to do their business everywhere but at home. I have a fenced in yard with a small dog. There is nothing like coming out in the morning to find this golden retriever from down the block doing his business on my concrete driveway after he jumped the four foot fence. His owners have a six foot fence and a dog run but they never close the gates or put him in the run. The dog yesterday took a dump in one of the small wading pools that the woman across the street just bought for her baby. Leash the dog and clean up after it.

Hi KC, My mother always asked one thing of me, remember me fondly if at all. Like who is going to forget someone like her. Time is a healer, though you will have moments even two or more years later when something will just hit you and boom you feel it but not as sharply. I had that today when I ran into CVS to get some shampoo and there was this really nice lady who couldn't grab the bottle she needed. Of all things she was wearing a perfume my mother use to love and it gave me pause. The bottle is a terrible thing KC. You know she wouldn't want to see you do that to yourself. If you need something to do, remember something she enjoyed doing and go do it to. A trip to the movies, a favorite museum, or hell a walk in the park with other members of the family. There are those of us who have been through and are here if you need a shoulder. There is your family who loves and needs you. Any time you need something don't be afraid to ask.

Har, I think that is question only you can answer. The hurts you keep fester. You have to keep up with them, worry about them, see the pain there, when usually the ones who have hurt you have moved on long ago and forgotten all about it. If it is something that affects your relationship with someone, sit them down and air it and tell them you are done with it but you needed to get it off your chest. If this problem that you have held onto is from someone who isn't even part of your life anymore, then it is past time to cut it out of your life. I seen something on a friend's car that sort of stuck with me. I'm sorry I don't have time for the hate or the pain you once caused me, cause I am too busy loving and being loved by those important to me now. Best of luck to you.

Anyone who knows me, knows I have a big mouth. As busy as I am usually constructing my own work, I also take the time to read the work of other authors on the site. I am not shy about leaving a comment for a story or chapter I enjoy. I wish I had more time to read and review but I try to keep an eye out for new authors or stories. They don't necessarily have to be new to the site though, just new to me. Looking at it from the other side as a writer, the review lets me see where I succeeded or failed in a story. Did the readers get the picture I was trying to portray? Are they enjoying it or is a certain character alienating the audience. Reviews are so important. A story that is never read is a sad thing. Like so many before me I tell everyone, read a tale, leave a comment, and if the mood strikes or the inspiration tempts you then try your own tale.

Hello to one and all again. Forgive me and my long lists of comments but with this thread it is usually the easiest way to get it all out and i try not to miss anyone, but I'm human so I screw it up occasionally. Roan - Karl, you have been in my prayers constantly. I'm so glad to see you comment. The reality of what is normal is going to take on some new meanings for you. You have Daz there and so many of us here are just glad to see your message. Take it slow and accept whatever is coming. Some of us have learned the hard way we are human and can't always be the strong one. It doesn't make you weak, only human. Remember if you need anything ask. Yettie - Sounds like your time away gave you a chance to recharge. Your whole family is facing many hardships. I am glad some of it is going well. Doesn't mean the well wishes and prayers for you are going to stop any time soon either. Glad your mom remembered you and that things are semi settled at the moment. If you need an ear, well we are all here. Harcallard - Ouch. All I can tell you is what I've said before, there isn't one of us who won't listen. You need to do for you. To borrow a phrase, "If you can't love yourself, how the hell can anyone else?" Take the time to set up a foundation for yourself and then allow only those who will help you get close to you. The rest know where the door is. While I'm fairly laid back I learned a long time ago the difference between being a friend and being a door mat. I try my damnedest not to do that to anyone else either. Cassie - The suggestions you have been given for work are spot on. I hope they work for you. Podga - Your wisdom and advice to everyone is spot on. However, I'd skip the dye job. Good advice and common sense are always things people look for. All any of us can do is try to help others, and if possible help them not to make the same mistakes we did. For all you do on this thread, thank you. Breeze - Happy to see a comment from you. I hope all is well for you. Joe - As usual you sound like a busy man. Thank you for keeping us in the loop. I will read your poetry soon. In the meantime the occasion smoke signal or something so we know you are surviving would be good too. Joann - Still happy to see your caring remarks for everyone. That sort of thing can bring a smile when it is needed most. Bee - The advice you were given was right on the mark. I hope by now you have managed to have that talk with your boss. Quitting your first job isn't easy, especially if it is something you have enjoyed. However, the time also comes when you want to move on. Wishing you the best. Mark - You have been on the upswing it seems lately. Glad to see you happier and just reminding you if you need me, well I'm here for you. To any I might have missed, I'm sorry. My best wishes and prayers are there for those of you in need. Hope is one thing you always need to hang onto. It isn't easy but without it, things truly are dark. to any who want or need them. Wayne

Happy Birthday Mike May all your wishes come true.

Well this was unexpected. It is Thursday and here is the story. I'm surprised there was less drama coming out of the station. Of course seeing how this town works I expect half the town to know just because someone seen him coming out of the police station. I'm worried that Gibby still isn't with his father and less than thrilled he would even walk away with Scott for any reason. I feel like you just isolated him from everyone and that is never good. What do you have up your sleeve now, KC?
-
Hi All, Just in general I hope everyone is hanging in there. Mark - I know you miss Stu but his time at work is coming to an end. Soon he will be free a bit more before the final push. Then you have all sorts of time to look forward to. In the meantime keep on eye on your mailbox. Card is heading your way. Harcallard - Things are never easy. You can only do what you can to find a balance between living your life and losing/having total control. If you lose control you can't enjoy anything cause you are completely helpless. If you have total control you can't enjoy anything cause you are too busy running everything. Find that balance in life where you like where you are, have time for yourself, and your life. Just so everyone knows still on a high from the visit I had. Feels like forever since I had time just to be me and enjoy. Of course tomorrow it is back to work and waiting on what is happening with Dad. In the meantime I got cards written out to my friends far and wide as well as a few who have events happening. So played a bit of catch up with my life and had some down time. The end result is I feel better than I have in months. Hope everyone is okay. Wayne

Barry climbed into his old Volkswagen Beetle and drove down to the movie house. He was excited and wanted to be there on time tonight. The Mystery Movie House was having a midnight showing of two horror films, Zombie Steals the Crown and Sheeples. They were bad “b” movies that barely got any time in the theaters when they were first released, but they had become cult classics. “Holy shit!” Barry swerved to miss a deer as it came bounding out of the forest only to stop and look at him, frozen in

So evidence has gone forth, but there are problems. Is Chief Blackfeather ready to see his own daughter pay the price? It is one thing to do the correct thing, but it is another whole story when it means seeing your own child pay the price. Then you have Amanda who is already working on finding out what Gibby knows. Can you imagine what will happen when she finds out that her father was skipped and it was the police chief who was involved? There is so much mess swirling around this little town and I don't think we have even seen the half of it yet. All I can really say is poor Gibby. Tanner better be ready to have a ghost for boyfriend too.
-
Stupidity knows no bounds and face it Gibby is showing that. He knows she is crazy and killed Tanner so here he is taking her on. The boy is going to need a twenty four hour a day body guard at this rate. So much trouble and this is still only beginning. I am afraid of what you have up your sleeve yet, KC.
-
So the truth comes out. Now was his mother insane in her dreams? I wonder because Tanner seems to be having similar ones. Did she do the right thing trying to kill Gibby to save him? That I doubt. So ghost sex? You are a kinky man.
-
Teenagers are all hormones. One moment it is love and the next hurt. No time for explanations or forgiveness. Tanner's family still has so much to deal with and I feel for them all. Gibby is hurting but hopefully he will give Tanner time too. Your story continues and so do I.
-
So Tanner remembers it all now. Unfortunately Gibby knows too. If and when Amanda finds out there will be hell to pay and Gibby is the only one alive to pay it. This is setting up to be something else. You are a wicked, wicked man KC.
-
Ah KC you weave such a wonderful story. Sorry to see this relationship end before it began, but maybe he can help heal the rift before he moves on. Oh well. Still a bit behind but now I don't have to wait.
-
You really did take that idea and run with it. Eternally yours, oh and by the way enjoy the curse that comes with it.
-
Well they say say anything can happen with a little magic. Face it, if Santa can't do it, no one can. Great little story and definitely something different.
-
i am enjoying everyone's take on this prompt. You have a wild imagination and it shows up beautifully in this story. I kept waiting to see how you would use the black roses and they fit in wonderfully here. Nice job.
-
I remember having to take a class that explained what different flowers and colors meant. Victorians were really big on that. It was nice to see it revised and used so beautifully. I kept waiting to see how people would use the black roses. Nicely done all around.
