  1. Just saying hello. Welcome Billy. hope you enjoy it all
  2. As the old saying goes, the best laid plans of mice and men. Well originally I had plans to go to the Riverhead fair today. That wasn't to be. The website for the fair announced it was Saturday October 9th. That is correct. Today is the 8th and tomorrow is the 9th. Someone mistyped Saturday instead of Sunday. Oh well. It simply means I go tomorrow. Not one to waste a day, considering I was already in Riverhead, I went to the outlet mall. While there I found gifts for friends whose birthday are next month. One of which the second I seen it I had to get. I already know it is going to swim on him but it was the only size they had and I wanted him to have it. Sorry, won't name names because he might read about it here in my blog. When I got home I spent my afternoon writing and rewriting the same chapter. Finally realizing I wasn't going to finish it without stepping away from it for a while I attacked some of the prompts I had created. I went after all the ones no one has written yet. I figure if I get stuck again I can write some of the others I haven't done yet. In the meantime I finally began the story for my entry in the Winter Anthology. I've been a busy little bee today. I am looking forward to tomorrow now. Another shot at going to the fair. I don't consider today a loss at all. It might not have started out as I would have liked but I did get a lot accomplished. Hope everyone else had a good day too.

    Panzy's Escape

Tired of being the one in distress, your main character decides the hell with waiting for someone to come fix their problem and they are going to have to save themselves. They are going to do it for themselves and they don't need a Prince Charming or hero to do it for them. Who is your main character and what were the originally going to be saved from?. Panzy sat down on the back of cart as it traveled down the dusty road. Babbitt and Cesar climbed down from front of the cart
  4. This is another one from the prompts. The first line is going to be the same but I have two totally different stories based off the opening line. Welcome to my two stories that I have named All about Murray. "Murray, do you really need to go out now?" I lay looking bleary –eyed at the alarm clock. I glowed back at me a hideous 4:20 am. I just wanted to roll over and go back to sleep but Murray walked over nuzzled my arm. Looking into that furry face I knew I

    Chapter 1

I remember when you said you had gone through this again. I wouldn't wish this sort of panic and fear on anyone. Glad you did come out of it alright though.
  6. Well Michael, we knew he was gay from the first chapter. However how many people follow the rules that are told to them? Especially the baby of the family where they are usually the ones most protected? Besides this is just the halfway point. Still two more chapters to go.
  7. Nock walked through the early morning mist and was grateful for the cloak. It seemed as if no time at had passed before he saw beautiful women with pale green skin waving and calling to him to come sit and share his basket of goodies with them. Their outfits left little to the imagination as they seemed to shine in the morning light. He blushed but pushed on. As he reached a spot where the canopy of trees had overgrown the broken roadway and he had to be careful not to trip over
  8. Okay after all the problems at my job and my vacation being cancelled twice this year, I put in for week off that begins on Sunday and goes to next Saturday. Sorry, I never get weekends off and forget about two days off together. So I got a bonus when they gave me tomorrow off too. Now normally I would say that is just a nice bonus but the reality is tomorrow is the Riverhead County Fair. There will be baking contests, quilting contests, jams, etc. There will be carnival rides, vendors of all sorts, and it is just suppose to be a blast. On top of it all the weather is suppose to be up in the seventies, sunny, and comfortable. So that is my first official day of vacation. All the rest of my plans fell to the way side because I can't line up with my friends like I had planned to, their vacations are all the last two weeks of October. Lucky me. So I plan to go out tomorrow and just enjoy myself. Walk along seeing what is for sale, what I can find, maybe even some surprises for friends who have birthdays coming up. Then of course their is Christmas. I never know what will happen at the fair. Some years I walk out and haven't spent a dime. Other times I think I broke my wallet with my finds. lol. Anyway you look at it I just plan to relax and enjoy myself and the time off from work. Hope everyone else has a good weekend as well.
  9. Okay I nearly choked to death on a glass of water while reading that. You are so bad but god help me if I read that, I'd lose it.
  10. Thank you, Michael. I hope you enjoy the whole story once it is posted.
  11. I am glad you liked it. Hang in there cause the story is written and will be posted each Sunday.
  12. Phoenix, The story is complete. It will be published each Sunday. Glad you like it and that you commented.
  13. Thank you Mark. I was sort of nervous with this one and just hope it is liked.
  14. Thank you for the review and for all the hard work you put into it to help me get it right.
  15. Thank you Daddydavek. I have the whole story finished and KC has done all the work on it to make it the best it can be. It will be out each Sunday. Don't worry, no breaks on this one. Enjoy.
  16. We all do it as writers, or at least nearly every writer I know. You come to look at the story and characters you are working with as your children. However eventually every parent has to stop coddling them and push them out into the world. I did that tonight again with Red. So I gave the site another strange look at the worlds that can inhabit my mind. This one was just supposed to be a retelling of Red Riding Hood. I can't even say it is the same tale at all any more. This one just kept growing and growing. I am however very thankful to KC Grim for stepping in and doing double duty as Beta and Editor for this piece. I just hope it is well received. One more spin of the wheel and it was all Vampires, Werewolves, and Elves. I never claim to break new ground but I do like to put my own spin on things. Hopefully I did with this one.
  17. I'm a little card happy. Always have been Cia. Lugh, I have a basement that has a deep freezer and a pantry. I have the room. Unfortunately tonight I learned of another November birthday. Can I tell you how little I am enjoying it.Ugh.

    Chapter 1 - Dama's Tale

Things had recently gone from bad to worse, although Dama couldn’t see how that was really possible. Sixty years ago the world as mankind knew it ended because of two separate events. The first was an unknown disease that began to kill humanity rapidly and second was a madness that spread throughout the world during the worst meteor shower the world had ever seen. The top of the food chain suddenly blew up and things people only thought existed in movies or horror novels were suddenly proven to

    Red

Earth has changed greatly since the great disaster. Mankind is no longer the top of the food chain. Now humanity lives under the rules of those they once thought of as fairy tales and horror stories. Welcome to the world where Dama and her family lives. A world where you have no choice but to follow the rules set down, rules that force a lottery type system on the children of humanity. Beware the cape that is given you on the eve of your eighteenth birthday for it will decide your fate.

    Chapter 8

    Chapter 9

Keeping it sexy and hot right up to the end there KC. The Queen is a piece of work. Can't wait to see what you have planned all for it. Keep it coming.
  22. James is proving to be a real a bastard. I'm just glad to see Adam and Jenny got off with barely any punishment. I wonder if that should have me worried? Great story so far. Can't wait for more.

    Mail Call

Well now I know Nephy and I have the recipe to make it. Yes, KC, mail that isn't junk mail is a great thing. And beware, I have your email now so expect more cards. Bleu that means you too.
  24. I'm off tomorrow. I was hoping to get some writing done but might have to forgo that in order to get some shopping done. Tomorrow, my father has a doctor's appointment and then he wants to go to Sam's Club. For those of you who may not be familiar with them, Sam's Club is another massive store like Price Club where they sell gigantic sized packages at low prices. You can by a half gallon jug of Vanilla Extract for a dollar more than you might buy seven ounces of it in a grocery store. You don't buy an apple, you buy a large bushel, and bags of potato chips come in bags you would expect to see on the side of donkey. However, they also carry clothing, blankets, books, and gift ideas. November alone I have my father's birthday, my sister-in-law, a close friend's and another one I just learned of. I can't afford to wait to the last minute to go get this stuff so tomorrow going to try to get it all taken care of. Won't be long till I sit down to write out Thanksgiving cards and Christmas cards. Ah, the writing never ends. Just hoping to fit in time to knock off chapters 27 and 28 tomorrow. Enjoy all.

    Mail Call

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I love mail. Not junk mail, and not bills, but actual mail. Today was one of those days I just love. Today in the mail I got two special things. One was a postcard from Mark. Hey, I make no secret who i become friends with. Those I do I come to care and worry about. Well I've sort of taken Mark in as close friend. I sent him a few postcards and today I got one from him as well. Funniest thing is it has a picture of a pig on it and all I could think of was his home page and the pigs he grows. Then I also got a package. Alright, I'll admit it, I'm a little bit proud of my home on Long Island. We have some interesting things here. Granted some of the stuff I've gone looking for I couldn't find but I did put a package together of some odds and ends to send to Mark, hoping he would enjoy it. Guess what? He decided he would return the favor. So now I have a small taste of what his area of England is like. The guy even went so far as to find cookbook of some of the things native to his area of England. I know what I'll be trying out soon. How many of you have had Yorkshire pudding? I have the recipe now, including one on a tea towel. That probably was the best part. I have a few of my great grandmother's towels that she brought over with her from England/Scotland when they moved to Long Island. Now I have one of my own. Like I said, little things make me happy. Mail is one of them. Have a great one.
