  1. Why is Zombie copying Mark?
  2. Trust me, I can go to see KC and I doubt he would tell me. I might have bribe JJ instead. Would have to take a trip to England. I want to see my farmer Nephew, Mark. Same Q PS - Andy if you do come to visit just bring your appetite. I do enjoy cooking for someone who likes to eat. Also, as anyone who has gotten a postcard from me will tell you, be prepared to be dragged all over Long Island and hopefully shown some fun stuff.
  3. I look it at this way. First you have to know who you are. Once that happens you begin to tell the people you love and trust - maybe not all at once but you will eventually. Sometimes it is your friends that are told first. Family comes when you feel you know what their reaction might be, or when you feel it will come from someone else first. But the one who has to be ready for anything is you. Being gay is part of who you are. I'm sure you mother is dealing with what she perceives are her failings which "made you" gay. She is still clinging to the hopes and dreams she had for you, not the reality of who you are and what you want for yourself. Smile, nod, and live your life. She will catch up eventually.
  4. Running late as usual but Happy Birthday Jammi.
  5. Well we had enough people interested saying they wanted to know about it, so like any good English major, I did the necessary research. Hopefully these hints and tips will help anyone attempting this genre. Good luck.
  6. Alright sounds familiar but I'm going to need some sort of hint to help narrow that down.
  7. act on stage. Same question.
  8. Why don't we just have burgers instead and roasted corn on the cob?
  9. Yettie, Ouch. Cancer is a tough thing to deal with. It has a tendency to show up in families. Cancer and heart disease show up all over my family tree. My grandmother died from it. It was horrible watching a robust woman slowly seem to fade away before you while the cancer spread throughout her body. Breast cancer is getting to be very common, in both men and women. It is not something to play games with. Cervical cancer and prostate is also growing. It had to be hard but in many ways if your mother was going to learn about them having cancer, better from the source then from you. You will have enough just picking up the pieces. Thanks for the kind words. It is true, often the care giver falls to the way side as they put all their energy into watching and caring for whoever is sick. Remember your words of advice and take a little time for yourself. I might have had to cancel the weekend visit with woman I consider a daughter but I'm still taking time to go meet her and spend at least one day together. I need it do it for me. My best to you always. Just remember to keep hanging in there.
  10. Thank you Trebs. Well was my first major work here on GA. While I usually prefer the short story form, can't complain about this one either.
  11. No. I think that would be something that would freak me out to no end. What is something you like to do that would surprise most people?
  12. Should we have a bar-be-cue there too?
  13. Rarely even Greg revolts, Edgar. SMILE
  14. i hope that means you have enjoyed your vacation. Taken some time to get your life in order, and don't feel totally stressed out. As much as I and everyone else loves your story, you still come first.
  15. Figured I was overdue to check in so pardon me while I do my usual list of commentaries. 1) Breeze - Losing anyone you love is never easy. Each person grieves in their own way. What is impossible to see one day is your greatest memory the next. I am glad to hear you are feeling better. Any way you look it I will be keeping you in my prayers. 2) Yettie - Thank you for you words of encouragement. Trust me there have been moments in the last few weeks where I feel I am barely holding on by my finger tips, but I know I have too many people counting on me and keeping me in their thoughts. 3) Hacallard - You have been on a merry go round lately with highs and lows. Sorry things have been so rough, but remember there is one person you can always count on no matter what, you! Hang in there. 4) Joann - You have been so sweet to so many. Don't think your comments or wishes have gone unnoticed. The squeaky wheel might get the attention but the steady heart gets the praise. Thank you for your kind words and good intentions. 5) Mark - I love you and I know your time away from Stu has you climbing the walls. Just remember this job is just for the summer. Schooling is nearly done and then you two will have time enough to do whatever you wish. Till then my Nephew hang in there. 6) Mike - If you do that Stu will never finish school. I love you for the thought though. to all of you. Keep your spirits up and remember to be there for each other.
  16. Welcome AJ. Prompts give a chance to get your feet wet so to speak. They also will allow you to see what works for you and what doesn't. In the meantime don't be afraid to begin writing your story. My biggest suggestion to you is one I offer many people, write at least a chapter or two then find yourself a good beta reader and editor. The beta will make suggestions on what is good and bad in your story. The editor will help make it shine. My best to you and enjoy it. Wayne
  17. Who wants to go watch the waves crash at the beach?
  18. A trip to the moors. Sigh. Back to my books cause it is friggin familiar.
  19. Harry asked Peter's partner yesterday. HEROS
  20. Sorry gang. With my father having been in the hospital everything is out of whack. Just finally getting him settled in home again but in a month or so he has undergo surgery again. Give me a few days and the chapter I was working on can go to my beta and editor. I really didn't mean to fall this behind but life happens.
  21. So either you are really "talented" or you have a very large bed.
