  1. Doesn't that depend on who it is?
  2. Nope not the Hunger Games. This series is a set in the past.
  3. Congrats on the promotion. Now you just have to keep churning out the stories. I know, like that is going to be tough for you. All you need a few hours of sleep between feedings. Can't wait to see what else you have up your sleeve.
  4. The vote was for the weekend of the 16th and 17th. Don't no one go changing the dates after I got that vote finished. lol. Besides I put in for those dates off.
  5. Wow. First time I felt like one of your pieces really wasn't finished. I wanted to know so much more about this world. You did a wonderful job of making it creepy and you sensed the cold that surrounded this group of robbers. You also got the idea there was no longer a sense of right or wrong, just one of survival. Afraid of what a hard winter would do to these already hardened men.
  6. It sat on the NY Times best seller list. It deals with magic. This is the start of a series of books.
  7. Do what you have to, I already know how it is. lol. Advantages of a beta.
  8. Well I put in for the time off. Just waiting to see if it was accepted. As far as I'm concerned it better be.
  9. I wonder if anyone really paid attention to the cape?
  10. No one may be there but know people care. Hang in there KC. Life goes on. I know I feel like I've been on a merry go round with a really long down stroke but eventually it has to go up for everyone. Trust me, I still have moments after three years where I go to do things and think "Maybe I should pick up a coffee for Mom" or "Maybe Mom would like Chinese tonight." Worse is moments when you sit there watching a favorite movie and want to call her up and you realize for a moment, my god she is gone. At first the pain was all there was but as time goes on I find myself shaking my head and remembering things she would say to me instead. Now instead of the rip your soul apart it is more of bittersweet moment. Never easy but it gets better.
  11. Alright, the fact of my life is I have no luck. No, strike that, if I didn't have bad luck I'd have no luck. I've been silent about any sort of hopes or desires because, well, if I mention them then there is a good chance something can go wrong. Yesterday is a prime example. I got my tax money back. Not a fortune, nothing that you say is mad money. I have plans for nearly every dime of it. In fact a large part of it is suppose to be sent in June, for this little thing coming up I started call the East Coast get together. *sigh* However on my way to work yesterday all of a sudden the inside of the car got hot, and smelled hot. Then I seen the engine gauge go right to the top. I pulled right over. Lucky me, I got a tow directly to the local repair shop near where I work. The end result being, somehow, in a million to one shot, I hit a rock which bounced up and punctured my radiator. Yes they found the rock still there. The bill to remove and replace the radiator literally ate my NY state tax return in one visit. Gone. Do not pass go, do not collect two hundred dollars, nothing. Oh well back to refigure the finances. Why can't something go right just once? Was I that bad a person in my youth or am I just paying for something I screwed up majorly in a former life? Sometimes I simply wonder.
  12. Alright, I think part of my problem lately is simply sleep. I ain't getting much. Makes it hard to get things done when you are tired and cranky. Doesn't help that my job has had my work schedule all over the damn place. Add to it someone I was talking to steady has gone missing and my life feels a bit up in the air. However this too shall pass. hope everyone else is okay.
  13. Wow. The layers people put over a story. And the retelling is ehh. The musical Wicked barely stuck to the book and made it much better than it was, and this coming from an English major where the books are usually sacrosanct. It felt like it took forever to get through the first book but he has gone on to do Son of Witch and The Cowardly Lion.
  14. Ugly Racoons get every squirrel. WORRY
  15. Is Mark playing at the Big Bad Wolf?
  16. Yes tomorrow evening is the anniversary of the Titanic hitting the iceburg. She will sink on the fifteenth. What a way to make a memory.

    Chapter 1

Okay, you felt you strayed from the topic. I create the prompts as a spring board, a way to make you look at a given situation and then turn it on its ear. So, where do you think you went astray? I found it logical. He fought for the right for gays to marry, but the idea still scares the hell out of him, even though a part of him wants it too. I thought you did a great job with it.
  18. Yeah it is a new book. Young adult.
  19. A Lanky Indian eat neatly. LANKY
  20. Wouldn't having a banana in his pocket just be weird?
  21. Especially in this story. lol
  22. I knew it sounded familiar but as soon as you said horror I got it. LOL. "Tessa set the book she had been reading down on the bedside table, and turned to see Miranda standing in the doorway of her small room--just as she did at this time everyday, delivering the same message she delivered every day. In a moment Tessa would ask her to wait in the corridor, and Miranda would leave the room. Ten minutes late she'd return and say the same thing again. If Tessa didn't come obediently after a few of these attempts, Miranda would seize her and drag her, kicking and screaming, down the stairs to the hot, stinking room where the Dark Sisters waited."
