2013 Poetry Anthology: Whispers In The Dark Now Live

I read them all. Hopefully people will take the time to read and comment. There is some really great stuff amongst them. -
I usually do my best work when I don't allow it to be censored by my own hand. Here I just let the words and feelings flow from my mother to my grandmother to my witch of an aunt and others.

This one I really worked at to find the right words, flowers, and images. I'm proud of how it turned out and how it was received.

Love can be remembered but it is only in the waking world where it can be embraced.

Layla that is chilling. The vampires and all that you wanted could not have held a candle to what you ended up crafting. This piece so clearly shows the loss and the pain of waiting for a word, smile, or scent that will never come again.

I think I got it, but that is the art of poetry, so much of it is personal. Sad story to be sure.

hoe? Were you stretching to make that rhyme. It seems like a father trapped here but not exactly sure. Interesting poem none the less.

So locked away but yet fighting on. This is a dark poem, but one that was worth the read.

Loss is something we all deal with differently. Time will come when the pain isn't so sharp and the memories become more treasured then painful to re-examine. You showed the pain and the grief clearly here, AJ. I am sure this was more cathartic than you thought it would be. Beautifully crafted as well.

So you write a poem about a French poet, author, director who had a nihilistic approach to the world and you wonder why the audience feels dead. Mission accomplished. Do we mourn him or celebrate our survival? -
Krista you show a soft and almost vulnerable side here. The images you create are sharp, vivid, and easily lead the reader from beginning to end.

Poor Koo got Buddha instead of what he wanted -
The constant repetition tells you that everything changes because of "that night". As the reader you are dragged along and wait to see what the final sad conclusion is.

Love is never easy and you make that clear. Each of your poems were different but you a firm grasp on words, meanings, and their interplay.Great job on all of them.

The sense of a desolate street light by cold lights, in the early evening of winter's final gasp. Cold, clear, and captured. Nicely done.
