  1. It all comes down to a matter of personal preference, I think. But, I think it's wise to at least write most of the story or complete it before starting to post the first chapter. That way, you can read the reviews and edit other chapters accordingly. As for me, I guess I have the time to upload a chapter every two or three days while I edit other stories/chapters. But sometimes I kind of get caught up in other matters, so it fluctuates.
  2. It's Sunday where I live. I'm still alive! Apparently, the guy who predicted this Rapture revised the date ... again. It's not the first time. Epic fail, anyone?
  3. Hi there! Mark Sen, here. So, AnytaSunday suggested to post a topic for my story, Dim Sum Mysteries, here, to get more potential readers. So, here's the link: Dim Sum Mysteries Dim Sum Mysteries is a romance/mystery/thriller story in a modern, high-school setting, though I try to keep a light-hearted atmosphere throughout the story so it doesn't get too heavy. I think the story is suited for teenagers and older, but I may include certain scenes of violence in future chapters, so you have been warned. Also, there may be sex too later on, if you don't mind reading sexy stuff. If you have any thoughts and suggestions, please post them here. I've already written up to chapter 14, but I'm still editing and waiting for feedback from my beta-reader before I finish editing. I'll post updates to this thread whenever a new chapter is up.
  4. Chapter 5 – Coin Toss Sunday, the Liu household, 08:32 I was in a bright mood. I guess, knowing that I kind of helped save a life and stopped the murderer, at least for a while, I felt elated. I sneaked into Anna’s room with a plate of cake in my hands. She was still fast asleep, clutching a large, pink teddy bear. I set the plate on her desk and sat next to her sleeping form. I held onto her shoulders and began shaking her wildly. “Wake up, Anna! Wake up!” My sister screamed, her ar

    Chapter 3 - Wishes

Hehe, I knew you'd spot the suddenness of it all. Don't worry, it's all part of the story.
  6. Chapter 4 – Arms of Darkness Friday, Mac Worthington High School, 12:12 How had it developed so fast? I mean, it didn’t mean that Michael and I were now an item or anything, but it was nice to know that he felt the same way about me. We sat together at lunch, just talking about useless stuff. Inevitably, I knew what was coming though – our conversation eventually ended up with the talk of that message. The next one will die in the multiple arms of darkness. I had no idea what that
  7. Chapter 3 – Wishes Wednesday, Mac Worthington High School, 10:05 Emma was discussing the different ways to make the dishes typically served in Dim Sum restaurants. I don’t even remember how we began to talk to each other, but I think it all started when she saw me eat a shaomai during a free break between classes. “So, I was wondering whether I could just use ordinary flour to make the wrapping,” she told me as we got into English class together. It was hard talking to Emma. I had to
  8. I've actually written quite a few chapters ahead, but editing takes a surprisingly long time. But chapter three's almost finished and should be up by tomorrow, at least. Thanks for the review, and I hope you keep reading!
  9. Thank you for the review! About the headings, since this is a mystery, telling the time is crucial factor and I wanted readers to be more alert, but I'll think about what you wrote.
  10. Chapter 2 – The First Murder Friday, somewhere in the streets, 22:12 Voices. I didn’t really know how to explain it, but somehow I slowly became conscious. At first, a few thoughts began formulating in my head before I became aware of my surroundings. Then I heard voices, muffled and scattered, then slowly becoming clearer. Even then I didn’t really want to open my eyes, but someone was calling my name. “Ryan! Ryan, can you hear me?” A feminine voice? I kind of hoped it would be M

    Chapter 1

Very interesting read. I feel sorry for the main character.
  12. Ryan's parents own a successful but simple Dim Sum restaurant in town, but he never knew that it would be where everything would start. He's instantly smitten with a guy at first sight, but can he pursue this romance even when he gets caught up in a puzzling series of chilling murders spreading around town?
  13. Chapter 1 – Appetizer A giant dumpling was chasing me in the dark of night. Weird, it was roughly human shaped and was wearing some kind of formal suit and a black bowler hat. I didn’t know what I had done to incite its wrath. Maybe I had eaten one of its children? I had no way of knowing now, and it was catching up to me. I turned a corner and found myself face to face with a giant noodle monster. Its body, formed by a wriggling mass of thin, tentacle-like noodles, took up the entire
  14. 1. Good music 2. A cold room and warm blankets with soft pillows 3. Chocolate
  15. Word 2007. As long as I can type something in, adjust line and paragraph spacing, change the font type, size and color with bold, italics and underlines, I'm fine with it. Although I seriously hate those green lines, even when there's absolutely nothing wrong with the grammar of that sentence.
  16. Blood for me. Lots and lots of it. Actually, it's not the sight of it, it's more of the concentrated stench of blood. Oops, do phobias count? When it comes to stories, I think I agree with the posters above: it's definitely the uncertainty, tension and anticipation ...
  17. If I had a son, I wouldn't buy him a Barbie doll. I find the very sight of Barbie dolls to be very sexual. They have physiologically impossible proportions. If I had a daughter, I wouldn't even buy her a Barbie doll. Other dolls that are not like Barbie would be fine, though.
  18. Does Lady Gaga inspire me? In what way? As a musician/public figure? Not really. Her music videos are sometimes very inappropriate, unnecessary and just plain ... otherworldly. Some of her songs are catchy and have solid beats, but that's it. And don't get me started on the content of some her more recent songs. They're, simply put, quite unoriginal. As someone who fights for what she believes in? Yes. Lady Gaga doesn't care if supporting gay rights would draw fire towards her from very conservative or homophobic groups. She fights for what she believes in and is loyal to her fans, and that's why she inspires me.
  19. In the end, it's not just who you're attracted to. I think it's about who you fall in love with. Of course, everyone is different and everyone's situation is different, even though there are certain patterns.
  20. Hi there everyone. I've been looking for a place like GA for a long, long time. I wonder why I didn't discover GA before? I've read some stories here and there on GA and I like the quality I'm seeing.
  21. I love this story. It's engaging and both heartwarming and heartbreaking at different points. I think I understand Andy's and Matt's complicated obviously-more-than-friends relationship. It's actually how I imagined Biblical David and Johnathan: they both end up getting married to women, but they love each other so damn much, so much so that their love can't simply be expressed in ... conventional terms. That's what I think, anyway.
