  1. What exactly are you implying
  2. Zombie, aka Sartorial Connoisseur!! Let's see if the costume leads to the discovery of who this might be.
  3. Proletarians of all countries, unite!! Friedrich Engels.
  4. I couldn't stand it anymore, and looked him up. That was a pretty unusual connection to Greece, all right. *hurries off to pharmacy to buy Korres anti-mosquito patches*
  5. I'm not sure myself. I was thinking one of the Durrell brothers. Laurence or Gerald
  6. Yes!! Theodore Geisel was his real name. Your turn, Rakuten.
  7. Another clue: He wrote a book inspired by a rather oddly colored breakfast at his alma mater. *pets the soft-hearted wolf*
  8. Not Roald Dahl *puts Zombie in corner for some quiet time*
  9. But everybody needs to begin with their ABCs
  10. Uhm. No. I can see a hint is in order. A few of his books were turned into movies.
  11. She's my sister and my daughter!
  12. No, that would be my dad.
  13. Apocalypse Now. (and a song by The Clash )
  14. Yay! OK, another somebody that Americans may be more familiar with:
  15. He's good-looking and was probably an above average child. Garrison Keillor. I saw him live in 1983 or 1984 in Charlotte.
  16. Perhaps it's a Queen rather than a king
  17. As my sister said, THIS is why navigation systems were invented and are now installed in every car and on every mobile phone. Because we don't ask for directions and we generally can't concentrate enough to read a map. I've tried explaining that this is insurmountable instinct. After all, back when we were hunters we needed to keep on scanning the horizon for mammoths to feed the women and children (it's also why we can't ever find anything in the refrigerator, btw: too small), and you couldn't ask for directions because the other hunters would sooner kill you than let you know where the choice herds roamed, but she only scoffs.
  18. Kiltie, you're right And Gabriel, that's from a Fistful of Dollars, I'm pretty sure (though it might have been from another spaghetti western )
  19. It was actually from a Greek film with Melina Mercouri (called, predictably, Stella) But I'll go with Over the Hedge.
  20. From the Balkans is correct.
  21. I'll sit this one out, seeing as he's from my part of the world, loosely speaking...
