  1. WONDERFUL COME-BACK TO THE STORY, although I had to read 5 chapters back to remind myself of what's going on. I am a bit confused, though. I remember that Bodie was the boy next door that Nate found at the end of the driveway when they were checking out the new place. However, I can't quite remember how Nate onto the scene. I remember something about parents moving and Nate wanting to stay with his uncle but I don't remember the specifics. Could you please tell me what happened OR point me to chapters where that happened? Thanks!

    Chapter 24

Yeah... soulmates may be a bit strong but they have a connection that nobody else can understand and I think that they are going to be very good for each other.

    Chapter 24

Awww... how cool! There is nothing more therapeutic for someone like Ryder than to get out of himself and share his struggles with someone who shares the same struggles. It's a beautiful, time-honored realism that it 'takes one to know one'. I think that Ryder and Wilder are going to be very good for each other. Right now, Ryder is feeling jealous and not sure if he wants to share the people who have been his salvation but, in fact, they are the ones who made this happen... they figured out that they just weren't enough for Ryder. Ryder needed someone to share his experience, strength and hope with and his parents brought both him and Wilder together, either knowingly or unknowingly ;). Either way, it has gone full circle. Ryder can finally get out of himself and help someone and Wilder will get the help he needs from Ryder. You better damn well NOT skimp on the last chapter. There will be an adjustment but I'm guessing that Ryder and Wilder are, and will come to realize, that they are soul-mates.

    Chapter 30

I keep forgetting that they've only been together for a short time and Jeff still has to go to Chicago to wrap things up and get his stuff moved. Did you cover Jeff's conversation with his boss in Chicago about leaving the firm? Nice chapter!

    Chapter 29

OK... I'm at a loss here. I re-read the chapter and still can't figure out what went wrong. THEY AGREED to this! It's not my thing but, hey, if they discussed and agreed to it, Jeff has nothing to complain about and Paul has nothing to feel guilty about. Yeah, they may have pushed their limits but Jeff could have reeled it in at any time (at least I hope they had a 'safe word'). I do remember that Jeff kept thinking that he didn't like this at all but then the sexual energy took over and, well, they stopped thinking with their top head.

    Chapter twenty-six

OK... I discovered that Jeff is, in fact, the larger guy, body and cock-wise... OOPS, I somehow missed that bit. But, I still recollect that he seems to be the bottom. I honestly don't remember that he has topped Paul. Oh well... maybe it was just a brain-fart... Neal

    Chapter twenty-six

Ummm... I don't think I like that Jeff has become the submissive bottom to Paul. I think that this relationship deserves a more 'versatile' element. I understand that Jeff is smaller than Paul but that doesn't mean 'size matters' when it comes to a happy, healthy, equal relationship. Just sayin'...
  8. WOW... So much... so fast... and all in one chapter! Wonderful! I'm guessing that there will be more sorting out to be done. I'm curious where Reymond's mom stands in all this and how she'll respond. I guess that may or may not happen... Neal

    Pre-fiancés?

Well... It's not merely a 'label', it's also one's identity. I think it's very important in one's self discovery just the same as religious beliefs, political leanings, nationality, etc. Yeah... we might just think of ourselves as 'people' but that wouldn't identify the whole picture of who I am and how I compare to others.
  10. Hi Gary... Great place to end... but then again, great place to begin again! I'm looking forward to Fendral's reunion with the pack, conversations he'll have with Miss Syble (?), how Keller manages to rearrange the pack's expectations they have of their Alpha, what role Fendral may have, what they find when they go out searching for other packs and mates and on and on... There's just so much material here to expand on... it would be a shame to just leave it here... Thanks for writing... You're great! Neal

    New Perspectives

GREAT CHAPTER! Yes, very intense indeed. Ummm... you might want to avoid using the word 'shift' when describing movement such as: 'Keller heard Fendral shift in his bed' and 'he shifted in his chair'... It makes this reader think they are shifting into their wolf. After all, you've brought a whole new meaning to the word 'shift'. Neal
  12. This is one of those chapters that I had to go back and read again. Fendral's appearance at the edge of the yard was wonderful, but when he just approached to within a few feet of Kellar, yawned, laid down, rested his head on his front paws and closed his eyes was simply a beautiful image. What trust! This is now my newest favorite chapter... Great work! Neal
  13. Hi... I'm guessing that you meant 'don't'. NO, I have not experienced you as an overly sensitive writer and your stories are excellent. I honestly can't think of anything to complain about... Neal
  14. I love Morningstar so much, I can wait on COTT even though I DO miss reading it. Do what's best for you, Gary... Don't listen to all the naughty boys on the playground. They're just jealous that they can't be more like you!
  15. I remember when I started reading this story that I made a comment on a hunch I had. I said I had the impression that Kellar's parents' story wasn't over yet; that there was more to who they were than just a random shifter couple killed in a car accident, leaving an orphan son. I also remember wondering why the old grey wolf, Fendral, spent so much time around Kellar's cabin when he knew where his pack was. I was half expecting Fendral to jump in and help out Kellar and Tobin when they encountered Reznick.

    The Reunion

Hey... Great chapter! I have this nagging question in my head... I know that Kellar's parents were killed in an auto accident, but is that the end of their story? Any back-story on who they were, why they separated from a pack or maybe they really didn't die?

    Chapter 9

I have no problem with law-biding citizens having guns. I grew up with hunters and my oldest brother gave me a .22 single-shot bolt action rifle when I was just 11 years old. I still have it. What scares me are the criminally-minded folks who get guns, usually illegally, for the sole purpose of hurting and killing people and committing criminal acts. THEY are the people that do the vast majority of the people-killing in this country. AND... THE LAWS TO PREVENT THIS ARE ALREADY ON THE BOOKS!!! The only people who would be affected by more gun-control laws aren't the people we should be worried about in the first place! I am really loving this story! Hey... does my review now make me one of the top 1%?

    Chapter 17

You told me that the story had been COMPLETELY redone... I had gotten to I think like Ch. 21 or 22 on the previous version. I was kinda dreading rereading so many chapters but you're right, this version is much 'cleaner' and easier to read. Although I recognize people and events as they were in the old story, this version leaves less lacunae and questions. Thanks for writing!

    Chapter 1

I think I remember seeing this story in the past but, I guess I was busy with other stories. Anyway... I love this story... I just read the first chapter tonight... very beautifully written and very enjoyable to read. So I guess I DO have something to read over the holidays...

    American Land

I'm now getting updates for stories in this series like Autumn and Winter. Were these 'completed' books really updated or is there a problem? Since 'Travels' was completed, shouldn't there be a Ch. 1 of Book 6 of CJ? Neal

    Chapter 13

OK... I get cliff hangers... BUT, 3 YEARS?!?!?!? Don't you think that's a wee bit much to expect of your readers? Neal

    Housebroken

I play bagpipes and this reminds me of my most requested tune... Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost, but now am found. Was blind but now I see... This was written by the Captain of a slave ship; transporting slaves, shacked together in the hold below, under brutal conditions from Africa to the USA. He couldn't take it anymore and had an awakening... You are a master of redemption, Parker... Thank You... Neal

    Morning Light

Despite the pop psychology... forgiveness is something we do for ourselves. Being angry and holding resentments has NO impact on the perpetrator. They may or may not even know they hurt you or that you are angry and resentful toward them. THEY don't suffer from our anger and resentment... The only one that suffers from anger and resentment is the person holding onto them. So, forgiveness is a gift that we give to ourselves, whether or not the perpetrator even knows of the harm they caused you. Think of it this way... if we hold anger and resentment toward a dead parent or someone we will never see again, who suffers? We do. If we forgive them, who benefits? We do...

    Shelter

After a few years in ministry and many years in adolescent counseling, I know that redemption is ALWAYS possible... improbable?... perhaps... impossible? NEVER. I have personally witnessed remarkable, unthinkable, improbable change and redemption of those who didn't deserve it, maybe weren't seeking it and nobody thought was possible. BUT... It happens. We MUST always keep a bit of hope our back pockets because, sometimes we are surprised. Neal

    Broken

I have been searching for the guy, the author that wrote A-Z in this story and then it struck me that I HATED A-Z when it first started. So much pain, degradation and dehumanization. I was delightfully surprised and thankful with how things turned out... I started to think, and came up with a formula for your stories, given that this is only the second of your stories I've gotten into... You start with the main character being broken, then to escape, then an interlude of self-discovery, recovery and remaking and end with salvation. I sincerely hope that this story follows that formula!
