Whatever happened to this story? They just got to their new house and you stopped posting chapters... Seems like it would have been a great time to add so much more...
-
I think this was the third time I've read this and keep loving it more and more. I really do hope that there will be a reawakening of Caleb and Dalton... Better hurry... they aren't getting any younger!

Good choice of contact for Brad. I loved how they introduced themselves to each other!
-
Nice chapter... honestly, I was expecting Brad to eventually break down. I have Veteran friends and family. I think the VA is very sensitive and aware of potential addiction problems. I'm guessing that 'the call' that CJ is going to make is to his 'jarhead' dad and maybe even someone he knows at the VA. Who knows... CJ seems to know everyone!

It's really cool that the story is always like a 'travelogue'! I learn a lot about New England in this story. I've been to Philadelphia and Up-State Pennsylvania. I've also been to NYC but that's about the end of my experience with the East Coast. I'm in the Midwest... Grew up in Minnesota, lived a few other places (Ft. Wayne, IN; Hastings, NE; Chicago, IL) and am back in Minnesota. Still loving this story...

Could you please give a description of CJ and Owen? It's been so long that I can't even imagine what they look like now. Does CJ still have the beard? And, yeah, a pic of the tattoo would be great... especially if I could be a pic of it on CJ's hip with him laying there naked... HEHE Nice chapter...

This has turned into the most complicated story I've ever read. I have no idea what's going on or who the different characters are anymore. I liked this story when it was CJ moving to Georgetown from Florida, making friends in DC, getting to know and appreciate the various friends of his dads and everything else that happened back then. But now, again, it's turned into a flood of NEW people, new situations, new primary and secondary characters. Wow...

||Very nice spinoff from 'TJ'! Thank You... THANK YOU for telling me that you post on GA. I went there and found your stories. Of course, I am now following 'TJ' and 'Scott-Making Amends'. I was an Adolescent Dual-Diagnosis CD/MI counselor. I work the program as an ACOA. Long story. A nice NEW perspective in the gay genre. Everyone knows that CD is rampant in the LGBT community. I think this is the first time I've read a GOOD story addressing the issue. Oh, I am sure there are many. I just don't find many in the places I look... :| Thanks for writing!

A beautiful addition to an already beautiful storyline. THANK YOU!

The story had a familiar ring to it and then, 'DING', I figured it out. Loved it! I so miss 'A to Z' and was also so hoping that you'd pick it up where it left off; on Eustace's farm and welcoming the abused boy and making a place for him in their lives. Wasn't his name Reed Anderson? Thanks for writing!

I really hope that this isn't the end of the story...

GREAT STORY!!! I've read every chapter and enjoyed them all... What a ride! I'm happy that you included the 'Psychology Grad's comments about homophobia... " A more comical observation is that most ‘homophobes’ don’t actually hate homosexuals they simply fear being labeled as a homo." It has been my observation and belief that ALL HATE is based on fear... fear of the 'different', fear that accepting 'them' will mean being like them and giving up something they have, be it property, value, job, culture, sexual belief (or misgivings), religious beliefs, understanding of the world, how they have been taught 'things should be', etc. It's all fear-based... always was... always will be... Thanks for writing, Neal

I have loved the story all the way through. I guess I was a little surprised that it ended with Jackson bottoming for Carter. It was Carter that wanted to prove to Jackson that he deserved another chance... one last chance to show his commitment to Jackson. Given all his doubt, indecision, coming to terms with himself and his relationship with Beth AND wanting to prove to Jackson that he wasn't just his fall-back option, I'm surprised that Carter didn't offer himself to Jackson first. It would have gone a long way to show his commitment to Jackson. The way it went, Jackson didn't get Carter, Carter got Jackson... 😟 Thanks for writing...

What people do when someone close to them dies is truly a CELEBRATION OF LIFE. It is the remembrance of what that someone meant to them and how they impacted their lives. There are THREE deaths, not one. The FIRST is when the body fails and stops functioning, for whatever reason. The SECOND is when they are buried or cremated and the THIRD is when they are FORGOTTEN. I don't see Abo being forgotten for a LONG, LONG time but eventually, it may happen. As for death being a relief? I know that my mom, dad, and older sister died after being reduced to something that they wouldn't want to have survived. Enough said... Death is very, very sad for the ones who loved them.

Thanks, Gary... I had no idea what reaction I would get from this comment but I threw caution to the wind and decided to just let the chips fall where they may... I would love to have a beer with you Gary... I'm in the Twin Cities, MN. I would love to write but can't seem to get past the first couple of pages... Neal -
Chapter 11 Missing Pieces
Nahrung commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 11 Missing Pieces
I have loved this story from the beginning!!! What's striking about it is the conflict that we BI folks share in having to make a CHOICE. Yes, I said it. There are those like Richard and Jimmy who are conflicted by having to make a CHOICE. I am also one of those. I chose as Richard chose and am happy to have a wife and two beautiful adult kids. BUT Jimmy made a different choice... He decided that he was gay even though he was attracted to both sexes and COULD enjoy both also. He chose to live his life as a gay man and is committed to his relationship with Drake. Now, I know that there are HATERS in the LGB community who deplore Bi folks (yes, they walk amongst us). They say that Bi folks are in denial and they spew out their hatefulness every chance they get. I think that they are misdirected by their hate of 'those people' who say that being gay is a choice (like Preston). It's not the same thing. Being BI is really the only place in sexuality where there IS a choice. Bi people can choose to be happy in an intimate, committed relationship with either a man or a woman. It's that simple. Get over it! BUT, when they lean heavily one way or another, to be healthy and happy, they must choose the one that they are most happy and fulfilled with and get on with their lives. Are Bi folks still attracted to the gender that they decided to forego? YES... much in the same way that straight people are still attracted to others of the opposite sex. BUT... If they are with someone in a committed relationship, unless they decide to wander, it is what it is. They made a choice. If they can't stick to that choice, well... that's a different discussion. -
Chapter 7 Another Man's Shoes
Nahrung commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 7 Another Man's Shoes
Would Richard have wanted to 'get it off his chest' if they weren't forced together at a marriage? Why now? Why not last week, last month or six months ago? Why now? It just seems rather disingenuous to insert side drama into an event that was nothing about him. That WAS selfish. What would be really cool is if Richard set the record straight with Preston, the number two asshole in this saga. That would take REAL courage and help everyone out a bit other than just himself. OK... I'm officially confused. Was this a one chapter short story OR was it the first chapter of an ongoing story? Neal

Chapter 63 A Brilliant Move
Nahrung commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 63 A Brilliant Move
OK... I'm sorry but I forgot the names of the characters... You might want to have a character list once in a while to remind your readers. I'm guessing that Chet and Aaron are friends? Big Mike & Colleen are Michael's parents? Janie & Lannie are who? Sorry, sorry, sorry... Otherwise, GREAT chapter! -
When I was at IUPU I was assured that whatever Course Schedule I started with would be the schedule that I graduated on. It didn't matter what changes were made after I started. I graduated on the schedule I started on. I guess I don't 'get' this whole controversy. Don't ALL universities operate this way? How can a university possibly expect a student to keep up with changes made to their course schedule AFTER they started; planned and plotted the courses to take to graduate. I guess I'm a bit skeptical that this actually happens the way it did in the story...

I have come to believe that spirituality and sexuality come from the same place within us. Religion is simply a group that shares the same spirituality. I don't confuse religion and spirituality although MOST DO!

HEHE... At first, I thought that the Fred & Betty names were from the Flinstones and then I remembered that it was Fred & Wilma and Barney & Betty... Oh well, it was a fun thought while it lasted.

Excellent Chapter! My only complaint is that it is simply tooooo long between chapters. I've been with this story from the beginning and while awaiting more chapters, I've read the entire 'Morningstar-The Malaise' series. So, is your heart really not into this story or what?

HEHE... This reminded me of an old saying, "Women marry men hoping that they will change and men marry women hoping that they won't change." I guess this is the same for ALL couples... one is usually hoping that the other will change and the other is hoping that the one they're with won't change. I think that opposites DO attract. Parker and Matt are clearly very different in a lot of ways. They compliment each other. I think it's the differences that make us interested in others. Those who don't appreciate being with people that are different from them lead, what I think are very mundane, unexamined lives. They go through their lives being with the people who have the same lives and thinking that they do. My best relationships are with those who can enjoy our differences, learn and grow from them. I most enjoy people that have different cultures, religions and life experiences than me.
