Prompt 589 Who is singing that?
Dodger commented on Timothy M.'s story chapter in Prompt 589 Who is singing that?
I like these Tim. Short and sweet. When I was at school the word 'Prom' struck fear into the heart of every gay teenager, especially if they were not out. I tried to keep well away myself, but I enjoyed reading this. -
I'm a fan of Josh and Kevin! Great chapter. I get the feeling that a lot of people here prefer them small, but I'm easy either way. It's always the content that's most important and now that I'm up to date. I'm looking forward to more!

Another interesting chapter JayT. One more before I catch up.
-
Thanks for the story. I enjoyed reading and commenting, even though I'm pretty certain that every single one of my comments has been completely ignored. That must be some kind of record. Maybe it's because I'm a year behind everyone else, but it's still kind of rude!
-
Another good chapter. I don't think that there are too many lose ends but what is Mike up to?
-
I agree with everyone else; it was a really nice ending to the chapter. I'm going to have to read the last couple of chapters now!
-
Great chapter. I love Lane, but I'm interested to see how Joshua turns out.
-
The best chapter so far; I'm enjoying this even though I'm a bit behind. Curtis needs to get his act together though.
-
I like Jenny and I don't mind cliffhangers, especially when the next chapter has already been posted.
-
I'm catching up and I'm really enjoying this story. I feel sorry for Josh but the good thing for me is that I can read the next chapter straight away. Nice work JayT.

Obviously a man of many talents JayT. Not just King of the forums! How did I miss this story? I'm always the last one to catch on to good thing around here, but I liked the first chapter. TJ has had it rough but I'm glad that Scott got what was coming to him and no better person to do it than Josh. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the story.

I was fairly certain that this would be the case with most readers, and I'm no different because I wouldn't have wanted to read a story that was basically about a girl sleeping with a younger guy. Also, although the protagonist was bi-sexual, the only sex that was mentioned in the story was heterosexual. I was aware that posting content like this on a gay story site is usually a recipe for disaster, so I needed to keep the lid on it until the end. All I really did though was withhold certain pieces of information and allow the readers to do the rest. It was a lot of fun to do, and it did work. I got a good response from the faithful few like yourself, and some that came across it by accident, but it's gone largely unnoticed on this site. If you're not among the elite or the favoured few, then you get very little in the way of publicity or backing here. I believe in a level playing field but it doesn't work that way on GA, which is a shame when right at the bottom. Nevermind, I'm glad you liked it because I respect your opinion a lot. Oh, and you're definitely not clueless!

Yeah, there's nothing like a happy ending, that's what I love about fiction.
-
Thank you again, this one may return in the future.
-
Thank you @Magicstate I find your story interesting and moving, particularly at the end when you say you wish you had known more. Sadly, we all have to live with a certain amount of regret in our life. I wish you well, thank you again for your support.
-
Thank you @Canuk It is a well-worn story so I was anxious to have strong characters. I'll give it a go anyway.
-
Unfortunately, I went to quite a few different schools so I was never really at any one place long enough to develop a crush on someone, or that's what it seemed like.
-
Thanks, JayT.

Improve & Encourage #2: Between the Push and the Pull
Dodger commented on Renee Stevens's blog entry in Gay Authors Archive
That would be really cool Renee, I would love that, but you will have plenty of time to do this because, at one per month, it would be a year from now.- 17 comments

Thanks for your comment @Freerider The purpose of the story was basically to find out if it was worthwhile going any further with them. It is, after all, a well-worn storyline that has probably been over-used in the past, so I was hoping that the characters would be able to make a difference. It is a little confusing, especially the way that it ends, but there is plenty of scope now to continue with these two. I'm glad that you enjoyed it.

Thanks, Paul. Robbie and Nathan may eventually have to make way, I suppose for fresher characters.

Thanks for the comment @mogwhy I based Charlie's character on an old friend of mine, who would drive me and everyone else around him crazy. He wasn't gay but he was very demanding and impossible to ignore. One minute you wanted to kill him and the next minute he would have you eating out of his hand. He was the same with everyone though and now he is married with kids. I rarely see him nowadays, but when I do he is exactly the same.

Yeah, I know what you mean, but you're definitely part of the majority, not the minority because I doubt if there are many teenagers out there who are as fortunate as Charlie and Roger. Most of us, including me, share your disappointments and have to live with them, but as you rightly point out, it's fiction and we all want to read about the Charlie and Rogers of this world. There must be a few lucky guys out there, but the odds are stacked against us, although I do think that it's really cool that you're still good friends with those guys because that's important too and it's not always the case. I think that we take these things for granted nowadays, especially in countries like Canada and the US, but it obviously wasn't always like this and still isn't in many places around the world. I can't imagine what it would be like to have a crush on a school friend in a country where being gay is against the law. A few years ago, I had the opportunity to do some work in Kuwait. It was too good to turn down and I ended up working there for nearly four months. Homosexuality is a criminal offence in Kuwait and if you're caught you can expect a mandatory custodial sentence. Worst of all is the fact that people are urged to inform the authorities if the suspect a friend or even family member of being gay. It sounds absurd, but it's true and it happens, driven by religious lunatics and fear. I was only there to work for a few months, but I often wonder what it would have been like to have to grow up there as a gay teenager, instead of liberal Canada where the prime minister marches at the front of gay pride. I got carried away but as always, thanks for reading and commenting Steve.

Thanks, wenmale. I like your story; your friend sounds like a good guy and I'm glad that you have been able to remain good friends now that everything is out in the open. Most of my friends are straight and they don't have a problem with me at all, which is how it should be, but not always is, and I have had problems in the past. Getting back to the story; I don't think that there are many gay teens out there who are as lucky as Charlie and Roger, certainly no one that I've ever met. I know it doesn't usually work that way, but I also know that you guys don't particularly want to read real life stories without a happy ending and it's not much fun writing them either. Thanks for the comment and insight.

He lived in a big house on Main Street, with a two-car garage and a six-foot hedge that surrounded a garden the size of a football field. In the middle was a swimming pool; my favorite feature, and one of the reasons why I was there. The other reason was the kid with the larger than life personality who I followed up the stairs to his penthouse bedroom. Charlie had a big ass; not fat, but round and large, like two halves of a watermelon, and often it was all that I could see when I walked behind
