I bet Nathan's voice is the only one which pulls him from the coma, because Nathan is the only person Robbie loves and wants to live for, deep down.

In a way I'm glad St.John didn't kill Dom, because he would have felt even more guilty. But it would have been a cleaner cut that this. Could Emma and a good psychologist get Dom 'cured' of his insanity when it comes to his relationship with St.John? Then he could be sent back home, which is luckily far away from the school, and they could take out one of those law orders which forbids him to be within 100 miles of Johnny and Bobby. They could also monitor him at all times and demand he sees a therapist regularly. All of this would mainly serve the purpose of easing Johnny's guilt and fear. I think realizing he's needed and responsible will help him even if it's a bit scary too. Johnny never backed away from a challenge, and he won't do it now. The school is his home and the kids are his to care for and educate and he was enjoying it, even when he struggled. He'll get there again. And best of all, Bobby is there and they love each other.

I think Daniel is much too laid back to do something like that, and Nicola would have noticed if her brother was around. Whoever did this, would have been to shocked at the unexpectedly drastic consequences to get away before she reacted.

Somehow, I'm not surprised it was worse than a mere concussion. It's lucky he was in hospital and they caught the deterioration fast. Hopefully this means they could relieve the pressure on his brain (I'm guessing it's from blood leaking) and induce coma before he sustained any brain damage. They know he's not brain dead (thanks to modern medicine), and we do too, because he's aware even if he cannot remember Nathan or wake up. It's just a matter of time, and I hope and believe Nathan will stay by the side of the boy he loves, until Robbie wakes. I'm not so sure what would have happened if it was the other way round, but Nathan strikes me as the most loyal of boys. You portrayed the whole experience in a chillingly realistic manner, scaring us along with Nicola and her parents. I'm glad she guessed his secret, since it may be the clue to who attacked him. I hope she find out, since it will satisfy her protective sister side. In a way being in a coma is an advantage because Nicola will make sure the rest of the family deals with whatever problems they may have with Robbie being gay. Thus when he wakes up he'll see loving and happy faces.

I hope @Mark Arbour and @C James can work out how to fix their Bridgemont and Circumnavigation chapters, which have many and large inserted pictures. Like these chapters https://www.gayauthors.org/story/mark-arbour/hmsvaliant/33 and https://www.gayauthors.org/story/c-james/circumnavigationCJ/24 I would be sad to see those large illustrations disappear together with CG's much more modest pictures. As far as I can see from CG's answer, he does place his pics in the gallery and links to them there. This is supposed to be the correct method, right? So if the pics fail to show when done like that, it's a bug?

Not just in your head, tim. He came across that way to your readers too, or at least to me. So many people get greedy over inheritance, and it's ugly to witness. Oskar saying 'there was plenty for all of us.' was such a joyful thing.

I feel sorry for Jim, who apparently still pines for Sam. It seems Sam was only able to speak his mind to Randy when he had another option. But I'm somewhat pleased to know Sam did actually fall in love with Randy, stays loyal to him and wants to make it work out. It was even more of a surprise the selfish git actually cared about Sam and was devastated at the prospect of losing him. So I shall wish them a happy life, but all my sympathy goes to Jim, who got his heart broken a second time.

So often you cling to life and love and old beliefs the way ivy clings to the wall. Bobby and Damian were sweet but the really interesting character here was Behrman. Such a study in contrasts. He lived in a house with cheap apartments, but was very rich. He appreciated the kindness and acceptance showed by Bobby, but he had shown no such thing to his transgender son. He did a generous thing by plucking the last ivy leaf and leaving money for Bobby in his will, and maybe that was a sign of him finally seeing what was important. I was impressed by his son, and I wonder if Behrman wrote him a letter apologizing and telling him he had learned a lesson from the gay couple, and he finally understood love should conquer all. At least, he'll now be remembered with fondness, and that's not and bad epitaph.

I think Jack must have trusted Rudi and loved him, since he showed him the chair. He could have hidden it in storage. I'm glad Rudi took a chance (several ones) and had a wonderful life with his lover.
