Thanks, tim, that made things clearer to me, and I think Katz should be lauded for searching out the reasons behind the mistreatment. If you understand it's not ill-will but inability to cope, perhaps it's easier to help by suggesting the farmer take a couple of days of (with wife or kids) and let you pitch in with the animals, or simply offer to help share the work as a good neighbor (the words 'you can do the same for me another time' can help with any mistaken pride).

I want to ask why the people who found the donkey didn't do the same? I've just been reading 'Riding Lessons' by Andrew Todd. One of his main characters calmly explains the sad fact of why you have to show mercy and put down a horse that breaks a leg. (And why this is a very good reason to make sure it doesn't happen in the first place). I know you cannot answer the above, and probably the author wanted to hold the highest moral ground he could when telling the story and when talking to the farmer. But the time, money and compassion spent on nursing the donkey might have been better spent on human kids who needed it - or even on preventing other animals ending there by lending a helping hand to a farmer or neighbor. Humans tend to project the feelings and compassion they (should) have for each other onto animals. This is often bad for the animals (think of overfed, bored, or ill-behaved dogs), and sometimes I wonder if people do this because it's easier than dealing with humans. Lyssa's arguments are quite good. It's why we see those awful cases of year-long abuse surface time and time again. Anyway, I agree compassion is indeed an important human trait - and in fact some say several animal species share it or at least something quite similar. We can never have enough compassion in the world.

Something tells me Logan feels slightly intimidated or at a loss for how to act when confronted with Aiden and the fact he's probably very attracted to him.

That's a good point, I didn't think of that. I bet Seth didn't want to tell Beth how vulnerable Kris makes him feel, but he should have told all his friends never to give his phone number to the bastard. Not that it's any excuse for Kris contacting him. I suggest changing the number once more and telling Beth she can't have the new number, and she'll have to send him an email. Good to see Liam be protective and caring, and to see Seth accept the help. Say all about how safe he feels with Liam.

I'm talking about this sentence. Potatoes were already sown, as were lettuce and onions, so all we had to really do were the things mor would can for use out of season. Here we say Potatoes are laid not sown. I was hoping Jay would tell Mikey the potatoes were laid earlier, and Mikey would answer something like 'Lucky potatoes...'

I'm now thinking of their relationship as a kitchen garden. They need to sow and fertilize and water and tend it to keep it healthy and to get good yields. And did she ever tell Brett to talk to Corey, when it was obvious (by her own words) that he had a crush on her son? I didn't like her demand in the previous chapter that Corey talk to Brett, and she has no right to blame him for Brett's poor performance. I also think Corey should the tell coach he's not going to play, since he's been assaulted by a former teammate. He doesn't owe them anything. Having sex with Adrian was a way of making a choice, I suppose, and if Adrian is happy about it, I'll keep my opinion to myself.

Reading this a third (or is it fourth) time, I have to agree about this being one of the best and special werewolf stories I've read. I love the way Kurt is a wolf and even if the packs are humans with a wolf side, they still act like wolves in many ways: leadership, mating, socializing, fighting. Of course I'm looking forward to the sequel, but I'm content to wait until you're ready to visit Kurt and Tahryn again. After all, they're here waiting for us whenever we miss them too much.

The mistake by Daisy Chen was natural, considering their grouping, and she was happy about the switch and their obvious love. Good for her. Isla did a great job of focusing Tay on the potential rather than problems. They'll do fine and a pack needs to be together.

But those nightmares were terrible, even if they probably didn't reflex actual scenes in every case, but simply gave his emotions life. A restraining order would be nice, but it's probably too late. Well, in this case I meant for St.John to tell Bobby he was able to use his love to escape from the bad stuff, not necessarily admit he still had a crush. But I also wanted him to tell Bobby so he could know once and for all whether there was a chance or not, in order to move on if he had to. I'm glad George finally realized what was wrong about Carl and Darwin, and he sure called at the perfect moment. But George isn't aware of how crazy and dangerous Carl is right now. And Darla learned some hard truths about what Darwin was feeling, but did anyone tell her exactly what led up to her being bitten?

Loved the explanations about pack members and how they all rushed to rescue Darwin. Darla work well as a dominant since she's such a busybody. LOL to Jared saying his pack would have to get used to him fucking Darwin when needed.
