I know you have only done ( well are doing) one sequel, but i can see this being a second, in which ESL Instructor Harper ends up a student in a galaxy far far away... Nice one tim!

All the best to you both! From what I read the actual transplant is harder on you than him, but his prep will be extensive, something you will not need to do. May both proceedures go well with a minimum of discomfort for you both!

Again, a straight female - but here is my two bits. If there were white only restaurants there would be hell to pay. When there were separate restrooms for blacks and whites, there was hell to pay. If a restaurant turned gay couples away there would be hell to pay. Guess what my opinion of a gay only restaurant would be. Ever hear of reverse discrimination?

I seldom find continuity issues with Carlos' work any more, but I have a similar file with pertinent facts. I am not quite as proficient with excell spread sheets as he is, but I'm not an accountant in my real life!

The Promise is a well written story that makes something our brains automatically reject as impossible quite plausible. Dealing with everything from environmental conservation to man's intollerance of being different, it has become my favorite short story. I highly recommend reading The Promise!

As drp says, distance is relative. If a "quick trip" to the grocery here takes an hour, I ask what went wrong, whereas a similar trip from my aunt's place if it takes less we ask did they break every speed limit in the book? -

That's one of the good aspects of meeting peeps through social media and becoming friends before meeting. For a good many of my online friends I have no clue of skin color, economic class, or ethnic background. While those things would not stop me from becoming friends with a good person, unfortunately there are people for whom it would be a factor, and could derail what might be a beautiful friendship before it starts.
