    What I am saying is give the voices what they need. If that is the elves, fine, if not, what ever it takes.

    I worked with Sasha Distan for a long while before his plans for children derailed writing time. He is very much a "write who is shouting the loudest" sort of author, and when he tried telling the voices to hush while he wrote other stuff, both works suffered.

    I seldom find continuity issues with Carlos' work any more, but I have a similar file with pertinent facts. I am not quite as proficient with excell spread sheets as he is, but I'm not an accountant in my real life!

    Lol being a fan of both David Eddings and Robert Jordan, "easy to read" has never been on my list of what a book must be.

    Perhaps the focus group they are targeting is the teen into early adult group? I didn't find any of the content you mentioned objectionable, but then, it takes a lot to offend me! August 7 huh? A new book to go on the shelf next to Sasha and Mann's!

    I've found seeing the movie first then going back to read the book works better than the other way around. They tried so hard with LOTR but I kept pointing out where they didn't follow the book, where they embellished, where they just plain missed something important. Got me in deep water with the hubby!

    The Promise is a well written story that makes something our brains automatically reject as impossible quite plausible. Dealing with everything from environmental conservation to man's intollerance of being different, it has become my favorite short story. I highly recommend reading The Promise!

    My, when you tie up a story you do it quick! A lovely story with a great ending. About as close to a HEA as you can get and still live in the real world. Only one question left. Did Sam attend the wedding?
