  1. Especially since he and Mike are both high risk.
  2. Is if you are the one that continued to do barn chores and teach riding through all of chemo and most of radiation therapy. Only took the last week off work and two more till the burns healed enough to start wearing my bra again. But then, I am also the one who was using crutches on the way into knee surgery, and walked out unaided.
  3. Seems like the longer at home the less "good" I feel. Not sick or particularly hurting with my injury, but just not me. Guess my coworker may be right, I am just not capable of goofing off without feeling guilty. Seems like I should be accomplishing things, but a lot of the things on my "to do" list are also on my forbidden until healed list.
  4. We needed a milk and bread run, otherwise I just hung out watching movies. Pretty much a typical rainy sunday sort of day. On a good note, this stay at home order is probably the best thing to happen to my hamstring!
  5. Interesting thing happened in our neighborhood this evening. We have a very popular friend fish place not fr from us, take out only, not a chair in the place. It does tend to get very busy on Fridays this time of year, but was not too bad today, with patrons keeping their distance while waiting and four patrol cars com roaring up, lights and sirens, and proceeded to state that there were too many peeps congregating, ( about 15 at the time) and told the proprietor to clear the block, or he would be arrested. The man chose to shut down for the night rather than argue. I think it was a bit of an over reaction. One officer coming in an talking with the owner could have accomplished the same thing.
  6. Closed captioning can help!
  7. I can't believe some people STUPIDITY. The state is systematically shutting everything down, implementing supply chain plans, etc. New York City has said a shelter in place order is being considered, yet our lesson program is only shutting down the beginners. Intermediate and advanced students capable of prepping their own horses are going to continue. Head of the program says she cannot afford to shut down. Interesting fact, beginners make up about 5% of her student base. They make up 100% of mine. Can we say short sighted?
  8. Boss called me today to discuss how we should handle a large scale quarantine. I said simple, impliment plan b. I ordered enough grain and hay to keep us three weeks, recommended all lessons be cancelled, and to call boarders to inform them that we will exercise their horses if they are showing any signs of illness, they should stay home. He said he didn't know we had a plan b, he would start calling boarders immediately.
  9. I finally have a weekend off as next sundays shows have been cancelled. Too bad i cant go out to enjoy it!
  10. I am going to smack todays show judge upside the head! For those who dont know, dressage is a series of tasks that are judged against a standard. In section 2 of one of the riders tests the judge made the remark " needs to be more active". Well in part 3 the mare decided to toss a hissy fit and started pitching and bucking, resulting in them being excused from the ring. Be careful what you ask for!
  11. Talk to the co workers you work with most. Make plans to be available for each other.
  12. I dont count it as a loss since I have put nothing in yet. I know they will call me again once the panic subsides.
  13. I was fully booked to transport horses to shows for the next month. That's 6 horses in 2 trailers both Saturday and sunday. Customers have been cancelling one horse at a time all week. This weekend I am down to 2 horses on sunday. I keep checking for the show management to cancel, but not yet. I think that is because if you scratch after registration close date you do not get a refund. That means if my two customers are the only ones to show up, the show still makes money. No incentive to cancel and with fewer that 100 entries no state mandate.

Oh no, that was not HIS price. That is what the supplier tried to charge him!

The real Enemy here is panic. Corona is bad, flu, AIDS, Ebola, they're all bad. The humans are worse. I don't believe that no one has recovered. Death rates are reported. I have not heard of even ONE survival in the US. Why aren't they reporting the recovery rates? Because if they say people are surviving, they can't get the Panic they need. With probability to recover in a week to 10 days, tp doesn't fly off shelves. Hand sanitizer can actually be found. Price gouging doesn't work. $400 per gallon is what my physical therapist was quoted for hand sanitizer. Really? For 3 quarts of rubbing alcohol and a quart of aloe gel? Humans are horrid.
  16. Lol nope. You said no internet. A computer would be helpful!
  17. I open the hotspot on the phone then link the laptop to it the same way i would link to any net signal.
  18. Does he have unlimited data on his phone? He can get internet access by opening a hot spot.
  19. Can add essential oils to preference too.
  20. Was talking with my physical therapist the other day. His supplier wants $400 a gallon for hand sanitizer!
  21. I havent figured out how to feed horses online yet! As for exercize, i cant even ride my own with this torn hamstring, let alone get it done for boarders that are afraid to come out.
  22. Umm, should i bring my 2 horses and a few others home with me? Not sure i could find enough tp!
  23. I have Waze. It's not bad but occasionally tries to take the scenic route, but does relay delays and police reports recently provided someone reports an hazard.
  24. We are the same age, and i remember the origional black and white series. I think cousin It was my favorite, though i always wanted a "thing".
  25. How could we NOT be interested?
