I’m reading this on an iPad Pro 10.5” using Safari for webpage reading. The formatting looks good, the lettering is nicely legible (even in the colored status designations) but, I think, a slightly larger font size would be appreciated by many of us.

I skimmed through the posts, and no one has mentioned "House of Flowers" on Netflix. This series is hilarious, camp, full of stupid-funny intrigue, includes nearly the whole GLBTQ++ gamut, and is darn right fun to watch. The show has subtitles, and it is a comic soap opera (there's no getting around that fact), but I found it so enjoyable to watch. If you're looking for something in an everything-and-the-kitchen-sink vein it's must-see. There have also been two movies made after the series so, I'm guessing, it was a popular series with its intended audience (it was for me). Mindless comic entertainment of the highest order!! Edit to add: I'm watching the series for the second time, now, and I don't recommend watching the previews. I was going to include a preview for the first season, but it gives too much away, and it's confusing to watch without context.

I read about this in The Washington Post here in the states. Ever so often things like this crop up and it’s usually some sort of news media that breaks it into the open. That’s why we need strong investigative reporting. We all benefit from it, but so much of it is getting gobbled up by hedge funds and other conglomerates then milked for cash until there’s nothing left and then closed down and discarded. I like watching John Oliver’s show on HBO/MAX (he and the show just won yet another Emmy award), because he is both entertaining and hits hard on a variety of topics that people really should know about.

I don’t think much of this movie, it didn’t make a lick of sense. There were just too many ‘reveals’ at the end all in order to justify the actions of a disturbed individual. Watching Barry Keoghan dance around in the nude was mildly entertaining though — a small treat for having suffered through the febrile attempt at whatever.

Not only, but a lot of us are also men of discerning taste. I like to think of myself as being one of those discerning men, at least in public.

See, this is why I wondered if the series was worth watching. But, thanks to you and @Krista I am not going to waste time on it.

Have any of you watched 'Hit the Floor'? I saw a scene from the series, and it looked interesting.

"I've been doing this shit for forty fucking years." - Madonna And I've been along for the ride with her. Madonna has been headlining her 'Celebration Tour' here in Boston this early January, after having been sidelined by a serious bacterial infection late last summer. In her honor I have been listening to her CDs here at home. The last couple of days I've been listening to 2009's Celebration CD release of thirty-six remastered tunes, it's been a blast reliving great moments in time. The link is to a Boston Globe review of one of the shows.

Other than being a movie director are they know for enjoying sex?

Huh, what does five guys at one party equal then? If we’re to label a person because they are sexual beings there should be a good label ready and at hand, right? A word that just slips off the tongue?

There’s an article in the Boston Globe today about a startup news service called Channel One using avatars to give personalized news to viewers. The avatars are based in digital scans of real people. I’m guessing that they only scanned faces for appearances and expressions, because the picture of the avatar in the newspaper had a thumb but only three fingers on each hand. Edit to add: There actually was two pictures, a male and female avatar. The male’s picture was large and it was easy to see the finger configuration but when I pinched open the picture of the female to expand it the fingers were slimmer but they had the same configuration.

I’m guessing that bendable Barbies are right up there with Secret Compartment Ken with extendable … But, no, I don’t know who the author is.

Every now and again I put Depeche Mode’s Music for the Masses on to play. It includes a CD and a DVD of collective classics. I don’t know why but I always seem surprised just how good the band is each time I listen to it.

This is a great version of IWTV. I’ve watched the first season and the second season is expected sometime next year. It would be a shame not to continue the series but it’s always a possibility considering the way the powers in control of these things throw things away, as they do. Of course, both the movie and this series take liberties with the source material but I like them all. Because the media is different for each of them they are able to stand on their own for entertainment value while also each having its own nuance of story and dialogue furthering the narrative of the story. I think we all win here.

Well, for this movie I think we must consider the time it took place. But I know what you’re saying and I feel that way too. Of course, we do get the comedies.🙄

I’ve watched the movie and I thought it was darn good. 👍🏻 In fact I looked for it after I removed it from my watch list just so I could post it here but I couldn’t remember the name of it, or where I watched it.

Has anyone considered giving Comicfan (Wayne) a posthumous badge for his longtime contributions? That would be a nice gesture.

If you think that’s bad what’s going on with the phoenix’s feet?!

“Hey, how about that? Teleportation was just invented. Where's the first place you're going? Don't worry, the purple portal pad is totally safe.” I don’t have a clue who the author is. But, I love this question and especially the modifier: totally safe.

I’m not a frequent YouTuber and so I haven’t seen the homophobic advertising. Isn’t there some way to report the adds? It seems to me that there are lots of reasons NOT to be sending these types of advertisements to anyone.

I well remember back when I was a young wipper-snapper that the bars and clubs back in Ohio didn’t close until 2:30am. When the clocks fell back at 2:00am we got an extra hour to find the one we were looking to go home with for some canoodling. Here in MA the bars/clubs close at 2:00am and are not allowed to turn back the clock for extra time so it’s just the usual routine. Now that I’ve aged out of the system if I step inside a gay bar it’s just for tourism.

A long-time favorite of mine, now remastered.

Merli Sapere Aude (Netflix) has the bartender from Smiley playing another gay character, this time in a college setting. The series is quite good, according to me, and well worth the wasted time to watch it, especially if you don’t mind subtitles.

One Wheel of Time show wasn't enough. Maybe, possibly, it might happen that there will be a prequel to the show called The White Tower. Just like Star Trek, The Planet of the Apes and The Hobbit, etc., franchises before it The White Tower is slated to be an animated series. Read about it HERE.

I was in Boston’s Public Garden sitting and chatting with a friend when the alarm went off. I knew it was going to happen but he didn’t and it startled him. Not too far away is a multiplex movie theater. I can certainly imagine the disruption of everyone’s phones going off during the showing but does the movie get interrupted at the pivotal moment?!
