Noted and appreciated. Yes, the metaphors were certainly running all over the place weren't they? I see them now that you've pointed them out but I’m not sure that it was conscience effort on my part. The story just seemed to be mostly already ‘there’, if you will, as I typed it. I am very happy that you liked the first person narrative. Your suggestion that using the situation of a morning run can be really cliché is confusing. While one might think the situation somewhat overused, it is something that millions of people do every day. In fact it’s as commonplace as to be not worth remarking upon. Many situations fall into this position, I think, should we not use any of them? I used the run merely as backdrop to showcase more important elements of the story which I’m happy that you point out. I appreciate the criticism concerning the sloppy bits. I didn't see them and I have made the corrections so hopefully the story is better reading and perhaps a little more sparkly. I’m so glad that I chose this out of your other stories to start with. It’s nice to start at the beginning. First M/M writings, huh? No worries from all the amazing and well thought out reviews you’ve received. Your replies have been thoughtful, informative, and supportive of your work and thank goodness didn’t give anything away. I must say that I was impressed at times when opening a new chapter to discover you chose a wholly different direction than I had expected. Your choice of violence in the restroom may not have been to everyone’s liking but you handled that with great tact. I viewed the action with Eric’s face and the armchair less favorably. While I agree Eric needed shocked out of his protective daddy approach, that particular action was a little over the top. You had my constant attention throughout the story until I finished with it even so and I thoroughly enjoyed your writing and very glad to have read it. The ending, while not the answer everyone might want was perhaps enough. You offered us a bit of resolution to some questions, a great bit of humor and for me a big chuckle bringing Heidi back at the end.

I finally get to a taste of your writing and this is the first thing I run into. You've got the talented gay artist and the long time straight best buddy offering great support, a party and then bang here comes the unexpected in the form of big, wide and strong man. What's not to like.

I think I may be confused after reading Sasha's story, really liked that by the way. Is it enough to use the concept of the tag - The Changeling or is it the more complicated example under the tag that is the actual prompt and has to be used in the story? Don't forget now, I'm new but eager.

Lately I’ve been wondering if the world has flipped on me. It seems as if I went to sleep, everything was normal, and the next day I wake up and I'm not myself. I’m definitely not myself at all. I’ve started noticing things about my best friend Jeremy that I have never thought of before. Like the color of his eyes. I mean, I know they are green, they’re hard to miss, but now they’re more than that. They have an electrical quality to them; the green around his pupils lashes out like the discharge

Some things don't stay the same and Sam is just now finding that out. His friend Jeremy is an innocent bystander. Or is he? Rated mature but you should make that decision for yourself.

If GA had in their 2013 Best of Catagories: Best Dysfucktional Couple - you would have a winner here, me thinks. These two characters, Marcus and Jacob, are too cool to lose.

There is so much happening in this chapter a person would have to take notes to touch on most of it. I'll just grab onto a couple little pieces if I may. Are we seeing the introduction of Ace's girlfriend and/or Erik's boyfriend? We all know what a matchmaker you and that group of characters on the ranch are. And, is anyone less than attractive ever going to show up on that ranch? Could you have been any more obvious with the new ranch name? Did you have any choice? It absolutely fits as anyone who follows the whole story will come to find out.

You said in your comments that you thought your story was a bit sweet. I would agree with you, but at the same time, tell you that it's completely okay that it was a little bit sweet. I don't need or want hard, biting, difficult, make me think or make me weep stories to read as a steady diet. I went to bed with your story and woke up with it, and a cup of coffee, the next morning. Thanks, it was just what I needed.

Well, it looks like things are getting real complicated for the men on Big Sky, doesn't it? There always seems to be trouble with families and inheritances. Looking forward to finding out if its really the family behind this after all or that they've just decided to join in with the Sheriff to cause trouble. To bad the gay boys have to stay at home but I think you have got something cooking to happen at the house.

It amazes me how easily I got caught up in these two characters. The cussing and cursing that was abundant in the beginning, not so much here, is not what defines them, that's good to know. It's the hard candy coating protecting the softer center. Marcus' father's comment was spot on. We don't really know how it is that people define themselves in their own heads, no matter how much we think we do, we just see the behavior. That Marcus didn't see himself as anything like his father but his father saw himself reflected in his son, is telling. Good job with that one little moment. Now those other, more 'exotic', phrases... Very inventive use of language. I must remember some of them for those, rare occasions, when I might need them.

It's almost always a great pleasure to get to read another chapter in the lives of this extended family of characters. I say almost in a halfhearted way truly. Although we have occasionally been confronted with some very dire events over time, getting a new chapter is still something to look forward to.

The ending does seem to be wrapped up rather neatly but it doesn't stop it from being satisfying. I still think much of Mark's behavior was self centered bordering on arrogence throughout most of the story. Not liking the character really. Ross on the other hand was probably too good to be true but I had no problem liking that character, at all. Besides wishing a slap upside the head for, Mark!, this has been a great pleasure to read.

I misunderstood. I thought that you were referring to the movie not the possible series on SyFried like I was when I asked what more needed to be offered to 12 Monkeys. Love the name you call the channel by the way, hadn't heard that used before. Your right too, it's gone to crap and I don't watch it anymore.
