    Don't Peek.

I'm so glad you enjoyed my little story enough to read it twice. It was fun writing it too. Thanks for the review, Comicfan.
  5. Pizza pie - I am nearly fifty-four and I cannot recall a single incident in my life where I or someone I know has used this term. So, it's to be a period piece, huh?

    Under the Sun

I'm not a huge fan of poetry but you had me in your pocket until the rhyme started stumbling about two-thirds the way through. Still, great and effectively written, Dolores.

    Chapter 1

There is a rawness to this that's convincing. I wouldn't think that a pocket knife would be effective against deranged psychopathic infectious zombies. Your story might have been even more effective if the zombie action sequence at the end been left out and we deal with the existential fear of them. Good story!

    Chapter 1

This was a brilliant take on the theme, Aditus. I felt Sam's anguish and despair so easily through your words. I wouldn't have wanted to open the letter or the closet myself. Hope in the form of cookies and a waiter, who knew!
  9. I grew up in a village in NE Ohio I'm not aware of the population back count then but it is still considered a village with around 4k nowadays. I moved away for the first time to live with my first long term boyfriend in my mid-twenties. Neither of us were out and we moved into an apartment complex where his older brother and wife lived. We were very careful not to be too affectionate in the parking lot. In five years we lived in two more cities together - better apartments each time. I moved to the big city of Cleveland in my mid-thirties to move in with my current partner and we moved to Toronto, Canada a year later for a new job for him. We moved again for the same reason three years later to Boston where we maintain a residence to this day. The past three years I have been traveling back and forth to Asia where my partner now lives full time for his current job. Though I don't wish to nor can I legally reside there, I do spend a considerable amount of the year there with him. It's an exhausting amount of travel time.

You can fool some of the people some of the time. Thanks for the review, Aditus.
  11. The projection mapping is pretty cool but the robotics are the stars I think. They're called IRIS and cost $400,000 each and rent for approx. $3,500 a day. Not a bad chunk of change for Bot & Dolly.
  12. That is wickedly amazing!

    Amazing Birthday!

That's great and I wish you a successful career at your new job.
  14. I dated both of the long term partners I've had in my life which includes the current one of 18 years, Thorn but then again I'm - how did you put it, oh yeah - I'm someone twice your age.
  15. It's being made for the same reason they create bad movie remakes and bad sequels - If something gets attention the first time, well let's make another one - no originality.
  16. Happy Birthday, Wildone!

    The Story

Thank you, CassieQ. I do have something in the works for these two. I quite like them myself.
  18. That's just it, Y_B, it's during the process, as you say, not afterwards that you get the impression that you might be comfortable with the person you're talking to. Afterwards, any further interaction emphasizes that initial gut reaction or thrashes it and you move on.
  19. It is my understanding that Quote and MultiQuote are tools of the forum to reference someone else's previous post. I don't think your (hh5) use of quote to post a new comment into a thread works well. Shouldn't outside references be acknowledged by quotations marks and an indication of where it originated. The way you use "quote" here is misleading and perhaps it is best that you adjust your use of it.
  20. It seems you have a Hiccup in your Hook-up.

    Chapter 1

I like your use of box/diary concept in the story. You turn Nathan into a Pandora trying to avoid reading/opening the diary/box which kind of turns this Pandora into a Zeus figure. Twisty! 'Not all lies in a relationship are bad.' - I think Ovid wrote something similar to this. Lies can sometimes serve a purpose. Such as getting your boyfriend to read your diary, yes? So this lie wasn't necessarily evil so much as it was subterfuge. All is well in love and war it has been said. That this diary/box and admonition to not read/open turned out good is a lucky thing. Very nice little story, Advocatus D., very nice indeed.
  22. You tell a good tale.

    Chapter 1

What an incredibly involving story. From beginning to end my mind never wandered one bit. Do you write like this all the time? Consider me hooked. Like Aditus, I never want to find that damn thing in the walls of my 156 yr old home. This was very well written and felt so polished up until the very last sentence and then I thought ugh, what's this doing here? Minor quibble aside, I meant every compliment. What a gem you have created with this. Thanks, Cassie and Bravo!

    Chapter 1

Now isn't this interesting. I had no hint in what was going to happen as I didn't look at the tags. A shape shifter vampire is a definite new twist. Who was the old lady that lived in the house? Was she guardian, protector or worshiper of the vampire thingy in the cell? And why was there no replacement for her there to keep the young folks out. It was only a matter of time till it happened but the nosy little thieves got there first. Cool and colorful take on the mythos, Celethiel.
  25. Happy Birthday, Totallyy!
