  1. I think he got malaria his first week in Africa.
  2. Airport food's pretty darn good these days. If they could just replicate the service while in the air, I'd consider flying more often.
  3. The anthology should go live sometime in September.
  4. @Anton_Cloche Not sure how many of those items I'll write about. My plan was for 9 short stories covering the summer of 2022, but after I get around to the third one, I'm not sure what I'll do. Plans were for a 4th of July celebration with Thiago back in town, a wedding in Michigan reconnecting with high school friends, and a visit from Owen's parents featuring another dinner party. In August, I planned a trip to New York to discuss investments and lawsuits and make media appearances, the monthly dinner party would be in honor of Calum (from CDMX) visiting, and a trip to Cuba leading to new opportunities. In there I wanted excursions to the National Zoo, the MLK memorial, and the Smithsonian's portrait gallery. I may skip all of it and simply pick up the story at a later date.
  5. Thanks, Wolf. The story missed your touch.
  6. Since the story takes place in 2022, employer-provided health insurance remains the emphais in the US, I thought this would fit in well. No matter how much money they have, a serious illness could put a dent in their wealth. I think they'd opt for a high deductible and save coverage for catastrophic expenditures. I mean, they still carry auto and home insurance. Probably no need for life coverage.
  7. Thanks, Theo. Tha was exactly the reason behind naming the house Everhope. A place where hope would flousish.
  8. I've been sighing and shaking my head all morning. This is the second story I post this month, the second chapter in three days, and everyone complains. It's frustrating as shit! Turning off the computer and going to break speed limits on the Harley for a while. I need a change.
  9. Thanks for reading
  10. At least we now know Northman's in a continent far, far away. Ambassador Cox did not waste time getting rid of her problem child.
  11. Let's see if anyone pays attention... NO MORE CJ STORIES FOR A WHILE. Since everyone apparently dislikes short stories so much, once I get them through the wedding, I'll return to long stories. That means at least a six month hiatus so I can get it ready. I will not begin publishing while still writing. I see too many crappy stories here when authors rush to finish a chapter every week. I refuse to allow the quality to suffer.
  12. I read something about Croatian wines recently, and I've been meaning to find some to try them. I'll report on what I discover.
  13. I have nothing for Japan. Not even a title. As for Cuba, I do have a rough outline. But we're looking at next year at the earliest.
  14. CJ's the type to plan ahead. He'll have an uphill climb when he runs for president, but he has 18 years to get his ducks lined up. Incremental steps. So, @Daddydavekin the past complained I didn't provide details like meals as much as I did in the beginning. I thought of him when I described dinner on Saturday and lunch on Monday. Can I skip describing the wedding meal in the next story?
  15. Glad you enjoyed it, my friend.
  16. I thought Angola would be as good an exile as any. Let's hope his Portuguese's better than his Spanish.
  17. I need to hit a liquor store to pick new wines to describe. I'll suffer through the research.
  18. But why does everyone complain when I'm doing exactly what I said I would? Until CJ gets appointed to something or other, their new positions will give them flexibility to do a lot of things. Personally, I'm looking forward to those trips to Cuba and Japan.
  19. LMAO You guys really don't pay attention to what I say. I'll repeat myself: No more long, chaptered stories! And what's this about a cliffhanger? No such thing here!
  20. CJ shaved and wore a suit; Owen remained scruffy and dressed in jeans and a blazer. The Nature Conservancy had a more relaxed attire policy than the State Department. “Red, take a picture?” CJ handed their housemate his phone while adjusting Liebe in his arms. “The three of you look like the ultimate millennial gay family. Are you gonna post it? If not, I’m sending it to Cristina. She’d like it.” Cristina Pereira was Brad’s girlfriend who lived in New York City. “Yeah, I will. Might as

Aja's one of those character I introduced for a specific purpose who wound up sticking around. I liked having someone as strong-minded and outspoken as CJ without the college education polish. This is her third appearance in the series.

LMAO We'll have to wait and see if Linc and Oscar hook up, but they better have a strong bed if they go at it. Those two boys probably weigh over 500lbs together. Clarence and Ginny get a reference in an upcoming story. Let's see what happens with them too.
