  6. See what happens @Carlos Hazdaywhen they leave me in charge of the weekly update? What I'm doing is adding on a couple of things to the blog every couple of days. I'm doing this in case I get invited to some wild party on a Saturday night, I only have to post the stories before Sunday AM (like that is going to happen ) Since you are quoted with the @ symbol for the Weekly Update for Ask an Author, I think it is letting you know I have mentioned you the first time I save it, just it isn't visible. Also, noticed that your notification is saying I mentioned you in the the Weekly Update for June 24 - June 30th. That one comes out next Sunday. If you are willing to ignore my notification until Renee comes back, it would be greatly appreciated! If any other non staff are receiving these early notifications, let me know!
  7. First off, let's do a plug here at the beginning of the wrap up to recognize GA's original Hosted Author, on his 20 years of posting on the interwebs, Comicality. He is definitely one of our largest drawing authors to this day. So putting Tuesday in front of Monday, lets see what Myr and others had to say: So back to Monday , Cia introduced us to a new Classic Author for June. Actually this worked out good going from Monday to Wednesday, Cia followed up more with our Classic Author Excerpt for June. And what comes after Wednesday? I'm not too sure anymore Myr posted this sometime during the week Yay! It is Friday I know that not only due to the last day of a M-F work week, but because we have Prompts! 8. Uh oh The passage of Robbie describing the perfect Nathan’s irritating flaws is not a good sign for their future me thinks. But I laughed as I remember a girl I worked with that was exactly the same when it came to mirrors. Except she was worse, checking herself out in glass doors, or even the spinning mirror inside a scanner at till in a store 😛 So now the question is, and bringing back an old thing, Robbie and Nathan forever (RNFE) or Robbie and Alex forever (RAFE). What do you want, and what do you think will happen? I still remember my first trip to Niagara. Thanks for the memories Dodger! And thank you for sharing

  11. Dodger... you bastard!!!!! I had to stop every other sentence when David woke up and him and Jeff were talking about David telling him he heard everything that Jeff had said. Also in that, forgiving Jeff for all that he had did! My shirt was wet reading this chapter from wiping my eyes and trying to read on. Like others, I'm not in favour of the killing of Darcy, but sometimes the ends do actually justify the means. I guess that Darcy had the Samari sword in his hands when the police find him will maybe be enough to sweep it under the rug. But then again the broken window might make Rizzo's job harder. For Jeff and his family's sake, I hope it is the end of things. The one unspoken thing that I hope Jeff can eventually talk with David about is that if he is able to move on from Kate, that he can show David in real actions that he will be safe and able to move on from Simon, and Simon will be okay with it like his Mom will with Jeff moving on Thank you for this great story Dodger I'm looking forward to the epilogue tomorrow I know you said the story would be dark and depressing, but I think you found a great balance of walking a thin line of the emotional extremes of the readers, without driving them away from going too far. Bravo

    The Preacher

I too was a little surprised with the turnaround of Jeff’s thinking of David and Simon. The fact that he is admitting he was probably wrong about who seduced who between David and Simon is a huge step. Also, the fact that he was somewhat lucid at times holds promise. But, like real life, when things are looking good, life usually gives you a giant kick in the ass. Losing the power and Susan, Jon and Bobby to Todd and the fact he is sobering up might be a good thing. What scares me is if he is right in assuming David and Simon have money, maybe he can use that to his advantage. He can get some quick cash for another bottle in return for letting Simon stay Just the alcohol has too much of a pull over him right now The thing that also also hit me was Jeff describing Darcy’s house so descriptively was if Jeff’s house is on the way of being the same bare bones structure without love, minus the religious symbols Thanks for sharing Dodger.

    Saving my Bacon

With every chapter, I am beginning to wonder what Jeff would be like without the alcohol I mean, it is easy to blame his ignorance and such based on his drinking, but if he went cold turkey and had no withdrawal symptoms, would he still be the same? The flashback to the final days in Vietnam are so evident of untreated PTSD and his opinions of what a guy is supposed to be are so much a part of him. I do see hope though, that even in his drunken and his semi lucid states he is questioning some of those deeply held belief. Days ago he kicked Simon out, then he picked him up from the police today and was going to take him home to his Dad until Simon attempted to jump out of the car. That was enough to change Jeff's opinion about his set in stone rules. Now we have Jeff willing to let Simon stay, he doesn't want the church men to get him, he had a flash back where his empathy for the killed North Vietnamese kid was brought back by seeing a cowering Simon under a sheet. And don't forget the fact that he hasn't barged back into the garden ( backyard) to break Simon and David up. Gawd I hope Jeff can continue to grow leaps and bounds every day and get the help he needs to deal with the alcohol and PTSD. Not just for Simon and David's sake, but for everyone's in the house but especially for Jeff himself. Thanks for sharing this thought provoking chapter Dodger

    Chapter 1

Sorry took so long, had to catch up on my reading material Thank you for another chapter Graeme! Interesting that Roscoe might have a friend/ally in the new character Ben. It is funny, as much as I want to know what the old gang is up to, I'm also curious about how the old will meet up with the new. With so many players moving up to AFL teams you knew there was going to be some new characters. Good to see that Brat is up to his usual scheming and planning with everyone but Jim Should be interesting next chapter is we have the yank coming down under and how he will fit into the whole Leopards extended family. At first I thought about Ross, but now I wonder with Ben, what will happen. Only 11 days to chapter 2!!!

    The Fall Guy

I think Paula Abdule had a great song for this story....Opposites Attract I see Tyrone getting fed up of everyone telling him he can't be gay as it might hurt sales. I think it was actually probably against all advice that he openly admitted to Andy that he is gay. Right now, Andy could probably ruin Tyrone more so that Bob or anyone else could if he does an exclusive tell all and describes the bits and pieces of Tyrone to the media (if the Mirror and Daily News are considered media ). Okay, I will through it out there, with all the recent celebrity coming out of the closet stories, could the Brits be Tyrone's opportunity to come out to the world and declare his love, or at least his attraction to Andy? I know everyone is thinking Tyrone is being the ultimate drama queen, but hey, as Tyrone pointed out, he fell from the first floor onto a bush, how bad could it really be Maybe Andy is playing it up a little more than what he needs to This chapter had me in stitches between Bob, Tyrone, the reporter, the nurse, Mrs. Dewsbury and Andy Really enjoying where this is going.
  18. Wow, so that was an emotional chapter Can't really say I was surprised, since dear old Dad hasn't really shown up to this point to be Grade A Dad material. Not sure if you want me to be angry with him,, but I will say that I not. I'm sad for him moreso. The fact that he intolerance and ignorance and all the other ances that people show towards people that are different than than the majority is as much alive today as it was in this time period. It is sad that people can think that people that are living their lives not hurting anyone should be considered a bad or perverted. The fact that so much of the world's woes could be solved if everyone's thinking changed to we are all humans made of the same dna. Sometimes makes me wonder how we all embrace hate so easily, yet we can't accept love as blindly too :(. Okay, enough of the philosophical soapbox I'm sad that he feels this way, but like i said, it was the normal way of thinking. Not justifying it, just saying not unexpected Wonder where Simon is going and if David would soon be joining him. Is David's uncle an option? Looking forward to next week. Thanks for sharing Dodger
  19. Who is the Dodger character and do you recommend I check him out? First of the 3 stories, I think I picked up early on that the Cockney Canuck was a bit autobiographical. Even though it isn't Dodger's real life, just having a real connection to the story I think is what makes this story stand out, instead of just a creation of the top of the head. They say the best way to public speak well is to have an emotional connection to the subject you are speaking about. I can't help but think that this story is soooo good due to the personal connection Dodger has to Robbie and the characters As far as commenting on Dodger's sister Nicola , I think I have been supportive of her and critical of Robbie. So take that Dodger The Soldier's Guide to Parenting, I think I can relate to it even though I wasn't in the military or such, but just the understanding of mental illness and they urge to numb those feelings through self destructive behaviour has made me maybe more sympathetic to Jeff. Sometimes I'm scared to express this sympathy because he definitely not going to do well with the whole gay thing coming into this life Dodger, you gave away a spoiler I don't really remember reading A Night At The Opera, but it is tweaking my memory that it was really funny and I liked it Must go read again. Well done Dodger!!

    Prologue

I'll be back . . . . Im back. Well i I have to be careful in making predictions an assumptions with Graeme’s stories as it usually come back to bite me in the tooshie I guess I can go out on a limb and predict Graeme will give us another chapter before Christmas When I saw Leopard, I got really excited. I’m looking forward to this mashup of American and Australian culture. I hope. I the past couple of weeks I was thinking of reading the Leopard series again after watching a match between St. Kits and Geelong.

    The Hostage

Is it strange that all I can think is the bathroom window facing the backyard, the side of the house or the front yard where the media and fans have a full view. I’m sure they are all very attentive with the shrill screaming and the police rushing to the scene. thanks for the chapter Dodger I’ve missed all these characters. Yes, even Tyrone.

  24. I could relate to so many things from my teen years, just I didn't come out during them. This movie is great, but I still say the book is much better Just looked and it has made approximately 40 million at the box office in the US, so I'm sure Fox has seen there is money in it. Let's hope we have more great gay stories and not so much of the cheap stereotype movies that seem to be a dime a dozen. Not saying all are, but think of some of the great low budget movies and how great they would be if they had some money. BTW, me and a pack full theater of mainly teenage girls
