Monday's review day was posted by Cia with a review of an Andrew Todd short story entitled 'Empath's Kiss'. Unfortunately I failed as I tend to write long sentences and without punctuation and too many useless words that never in the end making any sense at all. Dark has described the story of a fan fiction of a fan fiction of a fan fiction, so I might have to check this one out myself. The Discussion Day will be on Saturday September 27th. Back in 2005 the US version of Queer As Folk went off the air. It had characters Ben and Michael getting married in Canada as it was the only place in North America to legally get married if you were same sex. Melanie and Lindsey moved to Toronto where they legally could be married and raise their son Gus, who would be 16 now I think. Also, Debbie and Carl were left unwed as Debbie swore never to get married until her son and friends legally could at home. Fast forward 10 years and it is now legal to marry in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where the show took place. There is an online petition to Showcase to make a 10 year reunion movie with some of the actors (including Gale Harold *swoon* ) have said they would be interested. Also the president of Showtime has said he would consider it if someone made a good argument for it. I luckily had the opportunity to meet him and talk to him briefly over several days. He was filming the movie RV (not the best one ) and staying in the hotel across the street from the store I was working at. Every morning at opening and every evening he would come in for a coffee and a sandwich. He joked that he needed his exercise and needed to eat healthy, but asked everyone not to tell about his Starbucks weakness Over the few weeks, he got to know a lot of the staff's names and was always in a great upbeat mood. Towards the end, customers began to find out about his bi daily appearances and started stalking out the store. Never had the opportunity to say goodbye, or sorry I too grew up with him and somewhat remember Mork and Mindy. I have seen many of his movies and always amazed that he could play and be so many different characters. My all time favourite would have to be Patch Adams. I don't think he needed to do anything special for that role, as I imagine if he had a MD license that would be the type of doctor he would be I will miss him too.

I just don't like hot drinks, or sugary ones either. So for me it is a Diet Coke with Lime every morning when i wake up. Got to get the caffeine from somewhere

I`m so deeply saddened to hear this news. Just a month ago we were talking of meeting sometime around now. I will miss you my friend. You have always been an example of a gentleman and good friend. I`m hoping you are at peace now, you fought the good fight against your ills, kept a positive attitude through all you went though. You will be missed dearly my friend. To those closer and knew you better, my thoughts go out to you all. We all have lost a great person.

Sorry, I laughed at this one. I guess Irritable1 was translating for NS . I remember in high school and university that there is no word spelt. it is spelled. Just did a quick search and spelt is used in the UK but, in the US and Canada (usually Canada follows UK English) the word is spelled. Every time I type spelt, I automatically change it to spelled. Damn teacher and profs don't know that spelt is a legitimate word

It is funny how even I don't know a definition of a word, we try to guess it and then it becomes the definition until we hear different. Example, my Goddaughter who is 20 and supposedly passed High School were joking back and forth. I called her a homo and she said that she wasn't a homo. I said yes you are, you are a homo sapien. Her reply was isn't that a nicer way to call a homosexual? Myself, I heard the word disingenuous. Up to that time when I looked it up, I thought is was a polite way of calling someone dumb I could add a lot more to the different meanings and such to words, but just thought I would expand that the lack of knowledge of a word can change the meaning of it too over time. Not that the examples above are necessarily going to change the meaning, but when popular culture changes the meaning, the original can be lost.

Contact is a movie you either loved or hated. I was in the Loved category When I first opened up this thread I said to myself 'Self, you are going have to put down Waterworld' Then James beat me to it The movie I think with it's at the time most expensive movie ever hype, just came up extremely short of delivering anything IMHO. The fact that it was called Fishtar (in reference to Ishtar, Bill W) summed it up. A colossal waste of money and talent. I guess we were expecting something of the likes of Dances with Wolves with Costner, but he was at the helm of this sinking ship (no pun intended).

LOL, Without the fancy names, a bath house is a area that has showers, a hot tub, maybe a pool, a porn watching room, and individual rooms you can rent by the night/hour. Most walk around in towels (or not) and hook up and return to a individual room. I have never been, but a friends b/f worked at the one in town here for a while. Basically a brothel that you pay to get in, but you don't pay for the sex.

Well an interesting day at Wimbledon... Canadians aren't really known around the world for their tennis skills. Maybe doubles in Davis Cup, but not the individuals in big name events. Today, Eugenie Bouchard advanced to the finals. The 20 year old is the first Canadian to do so at a Grand Slam Women's final. Tomorrow it is Raonic"s chance to do the same. Unfortunately it is against Roger Federer who has never lost a semis at Wimbledon. Is it time for the young 23 y/o to change that? And forget it Zombie, he is mine
