Out with the old and in with the new!!! No I'm not referring to Renee and myself but the passing of 2014 and now on our way into 2015. Renee is taking a much deserved vacation or she is recovering from a massive hangover from New Year's Eve. I'll let you all decide We had a busy week on Blog for the end of the year and into the new one. Monday was a chance for Cia to bring us the CSR Discussion Day with Delores Esteban. Not only did they discuss Delores' story Space Pioneer, but also gave a sneak peek into the yet to be released sequel! Did you know she eats plenty of fruits and veggies Tuesday had our last Tech Tuesday brought to us by Cia relaying a message on behalf of Myr. Basically what Myr is looking for in this weeks addition is your feedback on what you would like to see? Technical issues with old and new software, new things for the blogs, what would YOU like to see come to GA in the future? New Year's Eve Day had Renee looking back at some of the Prompts that may have been missed or not having responses on. She dedicated this Wednesday as Second Chance Prompts to give people the chance to take another stab at them. What a great way to finish out the year! We did have some enthusiastic takers on this challenge. New Year's Day found Cia bringing us the Signature Background for January which is a tribute to Stellar's story Hidden Sunlight. In addition to a great graphic for your background of the month, Cia introduced us to one of my personal favourite stories on the site . Friday's Prompt Me introduced two new prompts and a new Poetry prompt for all to have a go at. Prompt 382 Creative gave us 5 words to try to incorporate into a short story. Prompt 383 was very seasonal in that the deals with New Year and some resolutions. Also the Fifth Poetry Prompt which involves coming up with some Couplets based on some music. Finishing up Renee shared a prompt from Totallyy. Well now that I went to Wiktionary and looked up the word polyamorous, I guess my excuse is I was born in 1968 (I'm not embarrassed to say that I didn't know what it meant). Adjective polyamorous (comparative more polyamorous, superlative most polyamorous) Following one of various practices of having relationships with multiple partners, with the knowledge and consent of all involved. Having personal beliefs regarding relationships that are compatible with polyamory, regardless of one's experience or current practices. Personally not sure how many stories are applicable to the that title though . Like Cia mentions, it is kind of hard for staff to read all the stories completely on site to ensure proper tagging or if such a relationship occurs in latter chapters, most wouldn't know but the readers. With all my PC training over the years at work, I really have trouble using the B word when describing a woman. Generally that is a good thing but in this case there is no better word to describe Jackie as a BITCH. I feel guilty using that word, but what other word describes the venom and meanness in her words and actions? I even think with Gary and Diane there, they will be picking up Mark's pieces for a while into the future . Hopefully no one tells Trey what happened, I'm sure he would be supportive, but along with that would be some guilt that Mark chose him over going to his Mom's funeral. Unjustified guilt, but I'm sure it will be there

Well, I guess I should deploy more often But, I guess it isn't really a joking manner. With this scene it took away from the earlier part of Mark trying to forget about his father and sister at the funeral. Will be interesting to see how it all plays out though.

So sad to see Trey leave. I am hoping for his safe return but just knowing that he is going to Afghanistan has me worried for him. The fact that Gary and Diane are going to the funeral with Mark is somewhat encouraging for the immediate future. All of them will have each others to lean on, Mark, Gary and Diane. Sadly, I wonder who Trey will be leaning on

Wow, I was always leery about Jackie. She seemed always to be a 'big sister' sticking her nose into Mark's business but with what she just did, is she trying to ruin any relationship with her brother? Their father was condescending and petty IMHO. I think I hated him just from hearing what Mark has shared earlier in the story, so I guess I wasn't surprised he lived up to my expectations. I guess what remains to be seen, what shit storm is brewing while we wait for the next chapter.

I never thought there was Canadian Slang. Other than being teased for the way we say about, eh, among other words, who would have thought we had slang too I guess since we get so much US Television and movies up here, we are well versed in what could be called American slang yet some common terms up here are not known south of the border.
