  1. Thank you, Dolores. 18 was tough to write, so I'm glad that it stood out to people.
  2. Thank you, tim. I appreciate your kind words.
  3. Day 14 The Prompt is to write some absurdist prose poems. Travelling one day, I encountered a three-headed duck with one leg hopping ahead of me. Intrigued, I followed it to see where it might lead. Its feathers were plain in comparison to the multi-colored stones littering the road before us, a perfect accompaniment to the flowing hues of the water, as it ebbed and flowed like refracted light through a prism. It stopped abruptly, one head turning toward me in annoyance,

    Grasped

And he has a name! It's almost like he was baptized with the wave crashing over him and now the name revelation. My hat is off to you for making Scott redeemable. I still think there's going to be a lot more grit in this story, though. His past will catch up to him. He'll have to tell Graham at some point if he has any hope of making the relationship work. I really really really do not want Marquez to get his hands on Graham. Or Scott. And I loved the line about not boding well for science.

Cookie isn't as ignorant as he seems And maybe Wally isn't destined to spending his life alone and loveless. I just hope that Graham doesn't get hurt along the way. Wally's past is still a predator unto itself.

    Watching

So Wally survived the party... lol and so did the teenagers I had a feeling it'd be Trey that Michael had a crush on. I can't say I blame him for being nervous when they revealed their relationship. I love the differing reactions of the two dads. Wally's empty feeling has me nervous, though. Things are going too well. Something's gotta give.
  8. Wow... I was surprised he opened up to Michael so much, even if it was edited. I guess I shouldn't be since he seems to be realizing so much stuff internally that it's natural for it come out. You're really keeping me guessing here. I have no idea where this story is going to go. On to the next chapter...

    Flight

So his past has caught up with him. We'll see if it catches him. I'm glad I let a bunch of chapters build up so I don't have to wait. This story is addicting!

    Near Miss

I'm finally getting caught up on this story! Wally's revelation felt very real. I'm not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing, though. What's stopping him from reverting back to his old ways if he doesn't feel he has any chance at a future? Thankfully he's making good decisions now. Hopefully he'll continue to. I get the feeling he's a ticking time bomb. Onward...
  11. Yay!! Congratulations, my dear friend This is so well-deserved! Welcome to the maroon!
  12. Thanks I channel Mr. N fairly frequently when the neighbor kids decide they want to play baseball on my front lawn. Play in your own damn yards! lol Thanks for the review.
  13. I like Curtis even less now. It sounds like he has no desire to let go of the ranch. I'm even more curious about the brothers' past now. Ben and Travis seem to want the same thing, even if Travis isn't convinced it will work or that he's worth it. Ben has his work cut out for him to convince him otherwise. I just hope it's not for naught. I'm rooting for these two, while at the same time bracing myself for an unhappy ending. You're keeping me guessing, and that's a good thing.
  14. Well I'm hooked. I'll definitely check this story out.
  15. I'm so glad you're participating in NaPoWriMo again. These are a powerful selection. My favorite is also the 'duchess' poem, but I enjoyed them all. Thanks for sharing.
  16. Thanks for reading and reviewing. The wipeout is a true story that happened when I was in elementary school. I can still feel that damn Brillo pad the nurse used to scrub out the gravel pellets. *shudder*

    Day 11 - Day 15

Another great selection, Addy. #11 makes me chuckle every time I read it. I love the absurdist poem, too. I think a lot of people can relate to wanting to throw someone off the Bridge of Khazad-Dum. You still have me giggling about Darth Vader dancing. Nicely done, Addy
  18. I'm so glad our poems inspired you to write some verse. Great selection. I love all the different descriptions of silence. The personification of words was very well done. The absurd poem made me laugh. I wrote one that will be published with my week 3 poems and also features a duck Great take on the 'Careful ties his hat on' prompt. I love how you turned it into a sonnet. Great job, Northie!
  19. Yet another great selection, Parker. April 11th and 12th both stood out to me. I loved the absurd poem. I liked the gardening ones too. I'm death to plants, so don't have much of a garden, myself. lol

    Days 8 to 14

A very emotional and heart-wrenching selection. The first poem and the portrait really stood out to me. I can relate to a lot of the questioning in the poems, since I have been struggling with similar questions myself lately. Major hugs to you. I hope next week is better
  21. #571 has me thinking... maybe writing a prompt will motivate me to work on my second antho story.

Yeah, I didn't really try to fool anyone with this one. I'm not surprised in the least that people guessed me. lol

Aww... thanks for such nice compliments It hurts me too, thinking of some of the abuse people with disabilities have to endure. People tend to be afraid of what they don't understand and lash out inappropriately. If they took the time to get to know them as people, they'd be surprised at what they find, I think. At least I would hope, anyway. Thanks for reading.
