  1. A bit late, but happy birthday! Does it mean something, the we've got the same birthday and are both into DK's writings? Daniel
  2. Just got this link from a friend: The song is in dutch, but there are english subtitles. I found it quite moving. Made me dream, that, not so far away, we're this far. Sadly I'm quite pessimisitc for free adoptions to happen in Germany or, "god beware!", the US, in the near future. Greetings, Daniel
  3. Hehe. It's nearly offical now. *does a little victory dance* Regards, Daniel
  4. After I read the chapter and slept over it, I want to write a few encouraging words. Great chapter IMHO. As is already pointed out, the discussion and joke, at the fireplace, is really good and quite funny. It also gives more depth to Daniel, with being a detour form his previous "good boy"-persona. But I'm not sure if this is my favorite chapter. Chapter 2, where the relationship between Daniel and Eddie develops, is also one of my favs. Great story so far. As always I'm anxious for more. PS: Hehe. I think I also spotted a typo. Shouldn't it be "hear" insted of "here"? As a foreinger I'm quite good at spotting these kind of errors.
  5. Damn! I hoped I were first to write a notice. Like the new site design, by the way. But the colors of the new chapter are awful. Violet background with the text in a greenish gray? Brr! *shudders* But I'll read it anyway... Regards, Daniel
  6. Actually I'm surprised, that there's the slight possibility, that my guess may be right. After all Garret needs to marry a woman (even if it's only a fictitious marriage), if he want's to claim seat for house Atrix in the Deliberatorium. Or did I unterstand that wrong? But then again, get me chapter 13. Regards, Daniel
  7. I'm the one (as of yet), that voted for Garret marrying a woman. After all DK is evil in his plots and that option is really far off form what's happening in the story so far. But I guess that I'm wrong, as normal. Get me chapter 13, pronto. Regards, Daniel
  8. Oh wow! I was just checking the forums and now I see this post. Thanks Philistine, I think I have something important to read now. Maybe I voice my thoughts afterwards. Daniel
  9. Brax's post sums it up. Depressing. This chapter did go quite another way, than I anticipated. But that only clones were captured from the pirates crew, the mysterious comments form Captain Leran, and last but not least the title of the story had me thinking again... Also I sincerly hope that there will be more of a reunion between Billy an Garret, sometime in the future. Regards, Daniel
  10. Wow! Exellent chapter. And posted at midday as well (wich makes it morning in the US, I guess). Really god description of a spacefight. In a lot of te scify I read spacebattles are either far to complicated to understand, or become boring, 'cause they're lenghtly and sometimes too detailed. But the fight in this chapter had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. As always I'm eager for the next chapter. I have a hunch, that we're in for the next surprise, when we'll get to know the pirates took prisoner. They seem to have good resources and the ambush was to well preparpared, for just ordinary pirates. Everyone have a nice weekend, Daniel
  11. I sure enjoyed the chapter. Thanks again for this story. DK mentiones the difficulty to convey large pieces of needed story background to the reader. That's something not to underestimate. I suppose I quit reading "Lord of the Rings", because I'd read about the first 80 pages (wich were in really small print) and still nothing interesting happened. But I think he did a great job with this and the last few chapters. Much background is explained in dialouge between the characters, without these dialouge being out of context oder getting boring. Ah... By the way, the qoute (read the blog! )is from "Dune". Took me a few minutes to remember but I knew that I heard that quote, albeit in german. What do I get for my two points? As always I'm anoxius for the next chapter, but thankfully friday is only a few days away. For me friday evenig, or Saturday night, to be precise. Damn time zones.... Regards, Daniel PS: Philistine is first again. This is getting creepy.
  12. Soooo good. Go Trebs, smother Dan in kisses, or something, then put him back in front of his PC to write some more. Or i have to do it myself... As you see I really liked the chapter. There's still so much to set the starting ground, that I'm really anxious for the action to begin. An AI as the ships computer, eh? Nice, as longs as it doesn't go psycho, as the one in CPL's last novel. Thanks Dan and Emoe for getting a new chapter out that fast. Regards, Daniel
  13. *whimpers* More? Where? I know... I can't get enough. While I lost interest in DiR, near the end, DoH captures me more and more. But I told some time ago, that I'm a sucker for good SF, specifically if it goes in the "space novella"-direction. Regards, Daniel
  14. OK, it's Friday here, where's chapter 3? Just kidding, but a big thanks to DK, that there's a new chapter that soon, even when he's on vacation. Regards, Daniel
  15. Just wow! It took me about half of the prolouge to get me hooked. The end of the first chapter leaves me drooling for more. I'm really into since fiction and dare to say that "Dreams Of Humanity" is very promising. Sooooo... Where's the next chapter? Should I buy a baseball uniform to bribe DK? Questions over questions.... Regards, Daniel
  16. Both chapters are moving, in their own way. I also found chapter 5 more moving, because Sean is someone I got to know, over the series. What's happening to Jeremy is also tragic. In my opnion more tragic than "Freckles" being overwritten with a person of himself, from a previous timeline. But, for me, he's just to new in the story to "feel connected". Just my two cents. Daniel
  17. Sad news. Yesterday I wanted to check Dan's blog for an entry about chapter 3 of "Doing It Right". Because I didn't remember the address I searched the forums for the thread with update notifications of Dan's blog. When I couldn't find it, that was the moment I got unsettled. A little while later I found the address in another post and discovered the site nearly shutdown and the blog-entry announcing it closed. First I couldn't quite belive it and hoped that it's just a bad April Fool. Now I find the open letter and these posts here. I don't know what happened. But it really makes me wonder what misunderstanding could be so harsh, that one decides to remove him-/herself from the internet, what makes an author to remove himself from his fanbase. Frankly this announcement makes me sad. I don't like it. But I have to respect it and I will, also I really hope that Dan does reconsider. The first I read from him was "Mists Of Fate", at that time hosted at Dabeagle's site. Since then I read almost all of his stories and took a linking to them. To some more, to some less. I think Dan is one heck of an author, that I'll greatly miss, when he really removes himself. Not just his stories, but also himself as a person. Although there never was much contact between him an me, I enjoyed his posts in this forum and his general thoughts, found in his blogs. Be it backgound infos about the actual story or ramblings about other things. Dan, if you read this, I really hope you revise your decision or find some kind of alternative. At least I will greatly miss you and your writings. Yours sincerely, Daniel
  18. Ooookay. I saw that vid and now I'm not sure if I sould be shocked or amused. Either the boy has a serious mental disfunction, or it's a really bad satire about the ongoing discussion on "Killing Games" in german politics. If you want to know what's said, go a few posts up. LazyWolf did a good translation. I hope that no reader of Dom's stories has problems like that kid. Independent from being an LRITE or SRITE. Best regards, Daniel
  19. Hi Howie. Well, if you're thinking about posting it online, you should offer it to a german audience. I suppose there are quite a few german people surfing gayauthors (as myself), but I it's not the right place for german content. A well known german site with gay fiction is www.nickstories.de. Take a look at it. I can only advise to submit your work there. Beste Gr
  20. I have to second robbie. When I think I've figured it out, you take the story to another and mostly better level. Really great chapter that, as always, leaves me craving for more. Regards, Daniel
  21. Hehe. If I click it, the automatic search of my browser sends me to http://www.spiegel.de/. Actually the link is broken (double http). Seems a bit strange to me, 'cause I'm quite sure, that it has worked. Simply copy and paste the link-text, or use this one: Story's by Grasshopper [Edit] Now I remember, that I used the link in Lurker's Blog, last time. So I suppose, the link was always broken.
  22. Grr! I really know these "TOU ch. xy" threads, but this time you got me. I'm also impatient about the next chapter, but it really would be to good to be true, if it were out yet. Regards, Daniel PS: *takes a "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung" out of the waste paper bin and hands it to naper_vic* I'm sure that monster of a newspaper will shut him up.
  23. This story really is worth a big recommendation. I read it hits afternoon and was really moved. Grasshopper did lose me somewhere in the first section of "Just Hit 'Send'". But if you liked one of Grasshoppers story's only rudimentary, you don't want to miss this great pice of work. Regards, Daniel
  24. A short thumbsup from me, too. What started as a promising story has become a great one. I really like it. As always I can't wait for new chapters. Regards, Daniel
  25. Awww! Crap! And I'm still anxious to know whats in this parcel. The "circumstances" at their house were quite obvious. I just didn't anticipate that Rory gets to know it in this way... Good chapter, but way to short. I just have to know what's in it. PS: Where should I wire the money to?
