  1. Hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Read through all the entries on the page, the last one is the best!!!!
  2. Been nearly caught more times than I can count, and caught more times than I want to admit. After the fourth time I had a wife walk in on me with her husband's legs in the air, well I gave up on married men.
  3. You have hay bales, but will you be bailing some hay? Rich is a good Minstrel btw. I need to find him on when I'm as Thrakosi. See, Thrakosi is my levl 25 dwarf guardian that is a metalsmith and needs some help with the level 37 mobs that he has to kill in the Trollshaws. Then I can make nice fancy armor with Thrakosi for my Captain and such. Now, only thing is that to make armor that Rich can use, well I will need to look up what Beralethorn is doing regarding Tailoring. Should be able to make him some nice medium or light armor that should be close to his level if I need to do that in order to bribe him to help out Oh, and as for pronunciation of Layer vs. Lair, all I have to say is that it all depends on where you learned your english and where you live now. Accents make all the difference in the world and we have dozens of regional accents in American English alone, let alone all those damn Queen's English types (ever mention the time that I went to Barbados and after speaking to some locals on a ferry boat, I asked the OOD what language they spoke on this island 'cause I can't understand a word of what they're shouting...) Oh, and Banana Man - just tell him the price he pays for those bananas does not confer a right for him to verbally abuse you the way he does his own staff. I don't have a daughter, but I do have a nice. When she reaches twelve she's going to be...well let's just say that any potential boyfriend will get the warn-off. I'll warn him she's a registered killer and only California's Juvenile Delinquency laws allow her to go around anymore. I'm afraid she might kill another boy... Okay, maybe not a good idea... Yikes. NOt even going there. 9 year old nephew has been 'going out' with a girl for two months now. This starts way too early. He isn't supposed to be growing a beard for another 3 years at least...
  4. Here are a few hints for you from an occasional insomniac. When I follow these hints I actually get a fairly good night's sleep: 1. Stop drinking all forms of caffeine or intake of sugar products by 9:00 p.m. This includes NO Diet Dr. Pepper (or soda of your choice), and NO Ice Cream of any kind. 2. Do NOT start reading any books or online stories that have more than two chapters left to them. 3. Do not surf for more stories. 4. Do not cue up any thought-provoking shows or podcasts. 5. Prepare a sleepy-time playlist on your Ipod. Keep it full of nice slow songs that help with slowing your breathing and relaxing. 6. Realize you're not going to solve world hunger between midnight and three a.m. and go ahead and sleep. There's this really HOT and hung baseball player waiting for you in your dreams, if only you put your head on your pillow and go to sleep. He's going to make you feel so damn good if you just let him in by going to sleep...(Okay, it works for ME!) Good luck!
  5. Fiber here....we pay for the 5 mbps up/down connection. Fastest download speed I've seen averages in the 1.2 mbps range, same with upload.
  6. I always knew there was more to the Angel/Drucilla/Spike story than they were showing on Buffy! Oh, and "help me obi-wan kenobi, you're my only hope!" Classic geek moment.
  7. I really did like Heath as an actor. What is really heartbreaking is how we go through this with beloved performers every decade or so. I still remember the death of River Phoenix, and the suicide of Kurt Cobain. Both of them were great losses to our world, and yes part of it is the dysfunctional nature of Hollywood. Marilynn Monroe didn't die in an accident, and James Dean's accident, well let's just say the behavior pattern was another form of the same problem. For those that don't remember, Heath recently split from his wife, and did not have custody of the daughter. There were many ills going on for him, and I just wish there could have been a better resolution.
  8. I am so happy this is airing on BBC America. I have loved the Capt. Jack character since he first appeared on Dr. Who and thought it was wonderful that they brought him back into his own show. Now, to show how geeky I am...and just how much this series is based on stuff in Dr. Who... We first met Jack in an episode of Dr. Who where the Doctor and his companion Rose (best companion ever for a Doctor!!!!) were in WWII London. There they met a dashing Royal Air Force Captain, who turned out to be from Earth's future. He ends up with the Doctor and Rose, and travels to the FAR future with them. In that season, the Doctor and Rose came up against the Daleks. For those that don't know, Daleks are the Doctor's enemy, and they are bent on one thing: extermination of all non-Dalek life. During the climactic final battle, Jack is killed while holding the Daleks off for Rose and the Doctor. The super-secret agency known as Torchwood was created by the Queen in the 1800's after a run-in with the Doctor and an alien werewolf. They are charged with finding alien technology and using it to defend the Earth against aliens. In a Dr. Who Episode, Torchwood fired a giant laser beam, destroying an orbiting space ship. Later, Torchwood was ground zero for an epic battle between Cybermen and Daleks. Cardiff Torchwood, led by Capt. Jack, is charged with guarding the world from the dangers of a time-rift that is centered over that city. The main characters of this show are all rife with secrets, and Jack is very much a man of his century (his birth century that is) and completely bisexual. So are a fair number of his staff, including Ianto, his handsome assistant who...well their kiss is only bested by the kiss between Jack and the WWII airman whose name he took, the real Captain Jack.
  9. I'm sorry Conner, but in this case the BBC is showing something called wisdom. Sticking to a wrong decision just because it is your decision is stupidity of the kind that gets...well that would be a political statement so I'll leave it right there.
  10. Well, your spelling is definitely better than mine...I can pretty much comprendez the words, but trying to put it together into sentences and words...well let me spend a few weeks in Paris again before I try that... (Yes, when I was in Paris I did manage to do quite a few things based on my high school french after listening to the language for a few hours. Checking into the hotel: No Problem. Dealing with the Metro ticket operators who refused to speak English, well I got the right tickets for the right price so I did okay. Ordering my food at the Le Palme de Pan wasn't a problem (and I eventually ordered for my boss after he got done). Getting the rental car without using english, I managed. Asking for directions while in the rental car...c'est horrible!!!!! Luckily the nice gendarme (cute too!) spoke English.
  11. *sigh* two years of high school french and I can kind of sort of understand what's being discussed...as for the english part, well it's another post involving CJ so I don't usually pay much attention. I mean, it's like...jeez can't the guy ever shut up?
  12. I first saw it a week ago and have to say it is only better with each viewing since then...
  13. Yeah, I made the mistake of letting my 9-year old nephew in on the whole 'chat' thing with MSN. Now he chats me up at work all the time. He did love chatting with Myr though, when we were driving across the country (yes, I still get amazed at being on the highway, in the middle of Nebraska cornfields, and my nephew was chatting on MSN with Myr).
  14. I'll trade you my 7-year old niece for...um...how about a goldfish?
  15. Just a reminder here, keep things civil. Oh, and my whole take on things: What does it say about the United States of America when these people have 'protested' at funerals of AIDS victims (including Ryan White) for nearly two decades and yet it is only when they start protesting at the funerals of soldiers that Americans do something about them? Think about that for a moment... (Who was Ryan White? http://www.ryanwhite.com/ )
  16. It was dangerous standing next to LittleBuddhaTW, let me tell you. He'd get whiplash from whipping his head around between the two and the drool was just flying everywhere. Reminded me of Pavlov's...never mind. Oh, and it's good to see you again Ice Dog, I mean Snow Cat, uh, oh well, Never Mind.
  17. Trebs had the camera. Notice it wasn't just your ass. he had to take a pic of Manuel's ass too. Then again, since Manuel never visits the board, we don't have to worry about him getting upset. Hehe, and yes, for the people who have read Phone Call, he is THAT Manuel. Just think though, David. When you were in the car, you were the only person in there who I had NOT had sex with. P.S. You just reminded me there were more pics of you on the camera that we have to send you...pics we can't post here
  18. Joe, weren't those pics from when Viv kept on filling your water glass with water from everyone else's glass?
  19. I'm sorry dear, I deleted all the butt pictures from my phone.
  20. Don't forget, after the first we'll have that guest room finally available again. Seriously, LittleBuddha, it was great visiting with you this weekend. We really were like two peas in the pod (watch out any city we're in, no one is safe!!!). I still say we should have taken Joe and snuck him into the SOMA leather bars!!! (just kidding there Joe, ouch! Viv, no reason to hit me! I was just joking!!!) What was scary was how well you and Manuel seemed to get along (and he was quite heartbroken that you didn't want to go out drinking on Saturday night - he was looking forward to your company). One thing about Trebs, he has quite excellent touring skills when it comes to that city. The timing of the sunset was beyond belief, especially with that ship that was sailing across the sun in the middle of the sunset. I've never seen one quite that wonderful in SF before (and only a few that rival it anywhere in the world!). Btw, you have until January 2009 to get the bigger place. Robert's quite convinced your pad is our crashing place for the 2009 Innauguration festivities...
  21. Add another...Manuel will be there (yes phone call readers, THAT Manuel)
  22. We even have some here in California too. Now, just as a counterpoint, I will point out: 1. It's Southern California that is burning. Specifically San Diego County, Orange County, Ventura County, San Bernadino County, Imperial County, and of course Riverside County with some parts of Los Angeles County. 2. All the areas burning (even the parts of LA County) are majority REPUBLICAN and some of the most conservative areas of the state. Yes folks, that's right, it's the Republican areas of California that are burning. The liberal areas are free from the flames. So, given this man reasoning that the fires are a wake-up call from God, it looks like God is calling the Republicans to wake up, not the liberals.
  23. I just had a vendor up here whose business is in Burbank. His brother-in-law lives near San Diego and was evacuated yesterday, so their house is fairly full with both families. Luckily, we're in NorCal so there's not much of a direct impact, except well, trying to call places in SoCal can be troublesome...
  24. Oh! The fanfiction! Dumbledore and Grindlewald!!!!!
  25. Go to her before, or after class and give her a card. Let her know what you are feeling and that you hope the best for her, and that there is always hope. As for the guy with the hurtful statement, I'd shun him, and get everyone I know to shun him as well. No one talk to him, no one interact with him, just totally ignore him. It's non-violent, and extremely cruel...a good combination.
