Oh, Park has to rein in his feelings and tread so very carefully. Like approaching a wild animal. No sudden movements... And no guarantee Ritch will ever return his affection. A true test of character.

Signature Excerpt January Signature Excerpt: From The Cup Of The Worthless By Cynus

So intense! A very good excerp to represent the story. Not that it's always daggers wielded around. Just a lot of things going on and much of it under the surface.- 4 comments

Kind of fun to see Tim and Cynus playing catch in the reviews right now. Tim is binging big time! -
Yes. Yes I do love Joel. In a platonic and non-weird way of course...! And he can only take so much (unless it's Lucas doing the giving ). I share your hope and I believe so, based on the police officers I've met in life. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

I might be way off here, but the whole having a secret no 'human' is allowed to find out... Couldn't that also be connected to a feeling of being on the outside as a gay person in regular society? Many shifter stories focus on the lonely outsider human, lost on the world until they find their 'pack'. Then again, feeling like an oddity at times and not having somewhere to belong is quite universal. We are more or less herd animals...

Maybe Lucas will be in touch with the department. Joel is probably too loyal to cops, even those of the as shat variety, to do so. Or they can just sick Pierce on the guy. He'll wish he'd never been born... There are more coming. Just hold on! Thanks for reading and reviewing!

I'm not very religious myself and I agree that so much horror has been caused in the name of religion. That said, I do have religious friends who interpret their god in a very different and loving way. Also, they get a lot of support from their faith in troubled times, something I envy them on occasion. To me Valentine is one of the good ones, but that is of course up for interpretation as well. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Yes, that ending is challenging. I don't think it would have been my choice either, but we're all different. And who knows what happens in a year's time? Thanks for reading and reviewing!

That's true. One of those flash of inspiration stories that sort of wrote itself and I didn't really have a say... A dabble in sci fi light. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

I'm glad I could bring your idea into writing in a satisfying way! I might work slow sometimes, but I never forget a good idea. An angry Joel would be scary and aweinspiring. A bit like a bear on its hind legs. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Very kind words! And I'm sure Gunderson is very relieved about Lucas' 'power' over Joel. The big guy doesn't lose it very often, but when he does it's best to run for cover! Thanks for reading and reviewing!

That they are! A little cloud of happiness, so easy to write. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

LOL! I'm glad you enjoyed it! And stick around... There's more in the so called pipeline. Some hot, some sweet. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Oh, do try it! It's so much more than a crime story. To follow that group of boys on their way to becoming friends and more (?) is exhilarating. -
Weekly Wrap Up (Jan 8 - Jan 14)
Puppilull commented on Renee Stevens's blog entry in Gay Authors News
I suddenly had an idea for April Fool's last night. It could actually be a true short story! And wouldn't you know it! It just hit me I made and ate copious amounts of lasagna! Too funny! -
Happy birthday!

“Well, it’s not like we have a choice. They did say they wanted to talk to us first thing today.” Frowning, Joel sat down on their bed next to Lucas who lay newly awakened tangled in the sheets. He gave his boyfriend a stern look as he rubbed his head to dry his hair after his shower. What was Lucas suggesting? Stay away from a police inquiry? “Maybe they only meant it figuratively…? I’m too tired...” The sound of Lucas’ whining had Joel roll his eyes. Lucas changed track. “Besides, we should s

This is turning into a nailbiter of a story! I can practically see the action before me as it happens. What a tempo! Just the right amount of description to let us know what is going on but without weighing down the text with too much detail. And a nice twist at the end, letting Daven be the expert for a while. He probably needs that now, to feel more in control. Kian sure is an enigma. A self sacrificing assassin...? Complex doesn't even begin to describe him.

I think the number of responses for stories might increase when we go from reviews to comments. Why? I can only look to myself. When I first got here, I was convinced I had nothing to add to the stories I read since I wasn't a writer, wasn't native English speaking, didn't have a degree in literature (silly, but I actually thought that)... In other words, I felt my humble opinion wasn't going to improve somebody's day. Then I started reading a series where I simply had to comment and rant, so I joined. Slowly, my nerves calmed down and I realized I was welcome to leave a comment and didn't have to go for a full blown review (including feedback on style and such). Then when I started writing myself, I realized just how happy a writer gets for a comment, a reaction. So while I had increased my reviewing before, I'm almost manic now. So I try, but there is as you said a lot to read. But if we can make it less serious and dramatic to leave a response, I think more will dare to do so. Also, if people understood how much fun can be had in forums, that would increase too. But that is perhaps a different story.

To have half year in each form together is a good compromise. Not like Ladyhawk... So a happy end for our couple. And Willy Jack got his comeuppance!
-
Now that's a creative process I could get behind! Or in front or under... (BTW, Jack changes names towards the end for a sentence or two, I think. When the jacking occurs...)

MetaView 7: White Wolf Pack 1st Beta Brian S. Pratt
Puppilull commented on JohnAR's story chapter in MetaView 7: White Wolf Pack 1st Beta Brian S. Pratt
I’m so happy for Gavin, that his wait is over. He’s wanted this for so long and his nervous anticipation is adorable. Brian has grown during the years and now he can embrace the addition of Gavin in a more relaxed way. He’s come a long way. And he shouldn’t sell himself short. He’s smarter than he gives himself credit. He does outthink the Meta, only perhaps in issues he doesn’t think about. Such as the trust issues. That’s where Brian has done so much for Colt. -
Now that was dramatic! But also sad. I feel sorry for Liam to feel so alone in the world now that he's in need of help. And Alek getting girlfriend. A proper Russian one...? He certainly seems to have his own personal hell.

That was an unexpected story! But I love how you just won't confine yourself to one genre or style. Even if I feel sorry for Miss Silver, I'm curious to see how she handles the curse and the breaking thereof.
