    Chapter 3

Another sad chapter. The funeral and wake were bittersweet at times. Every one grieves differently, but I have trouble getting a real handle on John. Why wouldn't he have called his very best friend Ethan as soon as it happened... or even before he visited Linda and Richard... or the gallery? It was kind of jarring, but it's a difficult time to sort through all that comes with death. Thanks for this, buddy. Cheers!
  4. I don't see no uniform, and my stripping days are over. I'm RETIRED!
  5. That was such a cool, visual scene to write. Thanks for choosing it, @Cia.

    Chapter 2

Very very very sad. Loss is a reality, but is never easy, especially when it seemed so cruel a disease.
  7. I reckon pondering works mighty fine, Ron. As far as 'shut the front door', I believe it means the same as 'Shut up!' as in 'really?'! As far as "Bearpaw", doors do hold some significance, but you'll have to read to see what that means.
  8. If you do read the series, I suggest you start with "Sidewinder", then "Larkspur: A Sidewinder Tale", and then "Bearpaw". Or, you can certainly read "Bearpaw" on its own.
  9. Since you already had a mission to Mount Doom.
  10. Good tidings, fair folk.

  12. Lol. Thanks, Ron! Much appreciated.
  13. You were there from the beginning of my western journey, lending your support, and it was greatly appreciated, centex. Cheers!
  14. Lol. I know I can't convert everyone, but thanks for at least checking it out, my friend, and thanks for the boost. Cheers! Hope all is well with you.
  15. Much appreciated, sweet Sherye! I have another western percolating in my head, just after The Civil War, and it's almost ready to go.
  16. Yeah, "Bearpaw" does stand on its own, but you are right. Reading "Sidewinder" and then "Larkspur" before this third one does add insights. Thank you, friend!
  17. Thanks, buddy! We did have fun, didn't we? And you pointed me to some good resource material.

    Chapter 1

So very sad. Brings up such awful memories. Where does he go from here?
  20. What a nice surprise! Thank you, @Cia, for highlighting "Bearpaw". I lived Jubal's story as I wrote it, immersed in the Old west and its challenges, and it has remained with me every day since. I'm biased of course, but I believe it is a good one, and I thank all those who went on the ride with me. We had great fun.
  21. Hello, friends. Awaiting my other three kids. Have an awesome day/evening!
  22. Less denial... more pepper.
  23. He was also in The Hobbit.
