    Thanks, Cane! That's nice to hear, but most of my reader messages are for more westerns. I have a contemporary story mostly written (14/15 chapters so far), but I keep getting drawn away from it by life. That's okay, though, because the mental rest is doing me good.

    Loved this, kbois. This read like a confessional, and I totally got it. Getting lost in words, and the writing of them, was a surprise that gives me great joy as a man of a certain age, and I don't have to explain myself to anyone.     The writing was excellent, Cassie, as per usual, but man, this was dark with a capital D. Somehow you managed to make the twist matter-of-fact as the truth was revealed, and that made it much more creepy, but palatable to this reader. Kudos to you... is it dark for me to say I enjoyed this?

    It's been raining for hours... stopped now, but I'm praying it starts up again. My grass has never been so brown, and apparently people are having their wells collapse because of how dry it is. Farmers are trucking in water to give their stock.
