    All things are as they should be for these two earth mates. To finally be in sync means power. I agree... there is nothing these two can't do now, after having faced a monster.

    Been there... and I know that feeling well. There have been times I've written through the night till the sun comes up.

    Tobyn's whole world has come crashing down, and he needs to process. I think he feels left out of everything, yet he can't blame Kellar. Kellar is a methodical scientist, needing answers before he makes conclusions. This was new for him too. So sad, this chapter, yet it is a time for celebration. There is a cure for the malaise!!!!!

    I'm not sure a shake would work. Maybe a two by four would be more effective. Seriously, though, this is Tobyn's mom, and he is experiencing a mess of emotions... and his theory about earth mates being a thing of the past has just been proved wrong in a way he can't ignore. Meanwhile, Kellar is figuring out some important stuff.

    The thing we have to remember is Tobyn is a little too rigid in his thinking. We can only hope he can handle this upheaval to his life. It's not that he has a hero cmplex or anything, but he has planned out his life and his mission, and he has these preconceived notions that just might hold him back. Yeah, it's a good bet Mum knows. Mums always do.

    Whatever has happened, it's obviously got Tobyn in a state. Fingers crossed it doesn't come between him and his new friend.

    The worst part of this chapter for me was Tobyn expresses his negative views about earth mates. We already know Tobyn is a stubborn sort, and that must have really hurt Kellar, seeing what he is suspecting. It could make it hard for Kellar to broach that subject again. ... unless Tobyn clues in...

    I think we'd all like to see this happen, buddy. Tobyn carries way too much weight on his shoulders. He needs help. Any yes, Miss Sybil is a revelation all her own. She captivated me as a writer, and to be honest, there is a bit of my departed mother in her.

    Who doesn't want a road trip with their mom? As I said before, Kellar is totally out of his element here... in every way possible. But the thread connecting him to Tobyn does seem to be hanging on. Never underestimate the earth mother. Thanks, Patrick!

    They are human friends of Kellar. In the north, there is an expectation that old folks get assistance from those young enough to hunt. In return they share what they grow if they can.

    Yup, that's right. The only friends Kellar has are human.

    Definitely a wise decision. And yes, good point that the nephew will know there are other shifter/shifters around. That is scary. The old grey appears to be cagey, but you just never know. The elderly couple are human friends of Kellar, so they are in no danger.

    An incredibly rewarding chapter for me, for sure. In rereading it, I am quite satisfied with the balance of this little journey we all took. Yeah, Tilly is not stupid, though she's only thinking of Adelin being saved at the moment. There is no doubting these guys are connected. Thanks, Patrick! Cheers!

    This is the thing about Tobyn. For a young man, he is set in his ways. He doesn't believe in earth mates, thinking they hurt the pack, and he is very traditional in his thinking. He has it in his mind that it is on him to search out other packs and find a cure for the malaise. That's a lot to put on your shoulders. Two days ago, he met a man who has thrown him for a loop in unexpected ways, and he's digging his heels in. He has a lot to learn, but his heart is in the right place. Thanks, Patrick! Cheers!

    I loved writing Elinor and Kellar meeting. He's never met a mother like her, Karen having very little mothering qualities. And yes, Tobyn's mom is truly a force of nature. We must remember Kellar is out of his element with regards to a pack, and with regards to Tobyn. This is all new territory, these feelings he has. Thanks, Patrick!

    Reading is forever. I believe it gives kids that feeling of self worth as much as any one thing can, while encouraging our compassion and love for others.

    We didn't have a library near us in one place we lived(we moved around a lot), but we had a Bookmobile, a bus that came by every Saturday, close enough to walk to. I used to take out the maximum three books in the morning, read them or at least one of them, and go back before five to get more. Eventually, they wouldn't allow it... saying I could only take out three in total ( if my memory is right, they changed librarians, and the new one was mean). Imagine not encouraging a kid to read. I still shake my head at that.

    Hey, Patrick! I've been fooled a couple of times, badly, but I've never lost faith. I found two great lids in my life, though circumstance intervened, but it's all good. Memories keep me warm at night.

    I love houses! Great chapter, Albert... they are healthy and committed, so need for worry about safe sex. No big deal, but just be careful of repetition and jumps in the timeline. Cheers, buddy!

    Thank you, my friend. That's what I most need to hear. Reading was my most treasured pastime as a kid and it has never left me. The fact I am now someone who gives readers that pleasure constantly astounds me.

    Creating a story is (for me) a fascinating process. You can't rush the plot or your characters... they won't let you in my experience. So yeah, like life, there will be all kinds of things that cannot be predicted by the readers, and many avenues they will not see coming. Are they meant to be together? Ony time and circumstance will tell. Shifters live in a dangerous world. Cheers, buddy.
