    Thanks for your awesome comments Def! lol - still chuckling. Unfortunately, Sam's plan could be disastrous even if it DOES work. Do you suppose Sam's purpose was to entice David to return the favor? Although the possibility seems a little remote. Lisa. Well Sam DID seem to know an awful lot about Twoey right after he arrived in town. David's gaydar. I'm still chuckling at the irony.

    Well, clearly Andy's connection with Judge Harrison has paid off. With him as an ally, it'll probably be difficult for this enemy family to ultimately be successful -- although it doesn't mean they will cease trying or causing trouble. Hehe ...the thought just occurred to me. What if the first time the man in grey grabbed his arm, Andy had the presence of mind to yell loudly to his art teacher (and class) "Help! this guy's trying to abduct me!" It probably would have saved him a run down the hall. Nice chapter Parker!

    Thanks mg for your review and comments! Don't worry. I think there is only one very brief Enos POV. I don't want him dirtying up '18 Weeks' either. Why does everybody assume there is something nefarious going on with that Van? It's probably just trying to deliver flowers.

    Thanks for the great comments Def! I like your tail chasing analogy. It's so fitting. That being said, and chuckled at, David might actually be getting more aware. He meets Dr. Keating Monday. Maybe it'll all come out, even if he doesn't.

    Thanks Lisa! Yes, you're right. Toph doesn't think of his family as individuals, but as a monolith of some kind. Oh no! Am I bleeding David and Toph somehow together? Maybe it's my own head looking at its reflection ...hehe. Niles will clear it all up in the next chapter. Well, at least how he knows Toph. The rest will stay muddy, I guess.

    Hey Lisa, thanks for churning along through SkinnyLand! I wonder if jess would give me permission to use it as the title of a new story. Whether he has DID or another disorder had some interesting development in the Toph discussion forum. I think you've latched on to an important barrier to Toph's future happiness. Somehow he MUST stop seeing relationships as time-finite entities. It must be difficult for him to break this chain, seemingly linked to his past.

    Thanks for your nice comments AC! Yes, this was a chapter of development, although Toph thinks of that development as a series of 'firsts'. I personally thing he's wrong. Development does imply firsts, but firsts do not imply development. You can have firsts, but go nowhere. Toph is clearly moving forward, probably in ways he can't yet imagine. Thanks again for your review!

    Thanks Lisa! A kiss from a total stranger is indeed odd. Maybe Niles knows Toph? You're certainly right about Toph's friends caring for him more than he believes. I mentioned in the reply to another's review somewhere, a problem we (as readers) have with this story is we rely completely on Toph's view of his world. A view which in more than one instance has proved faulty. So we need to proceed with caution.

    Thanks for the nice comments Lisa! I think the way Toph so easily slipped between first and third person betrayed his refusal to accept himself, or his position --'distancing' as you described it. Some reviewers thought he had a mental condition of one type or another. Whatever he had, it was certainly defensive. As you've already read ahead, it was one of his 'shields' -- for sure!

    Well, in this chapter we certainly picked up a few new pieces and hardly got any answers Detective Venturi doesn't quite sit well with me at this juncture. Denise is just irritating. Does she even realize she's pushing Jason further away? He needs to end it fast. Maybe get Brad to backup his decision somehow. Denise needs to go away. Maybe Jason should complain to VP? haha! Anyway, a great story mitchelll -- and getting more convoluted! Keep up the good work!

    Thanks Def! Batman and Robin lol A lot is happening, but Nov. 1 we get Mike and Gary in Syracuse, Chuck and Twoey in Daleville, and the creepy cult caravan zeroing in. So even more on David's plate. This is turning out to be a hell of a year for him. He probably might not even even make it to those college years.
