Another great (and steamy) chapter dayne! Side Chick and Main Bitch are pretty interesting with each other, all by themselves. Indy seems to be working through something, maybe subconsciously, out of his control. I'm not sure, but get the idea something's going on inside that guy. As long as he doesn't drown in the neko pool, I guess. Thanks for this!
  2. Thanks for the neat review and comments Def! Yeah, too bad CG didn't get to experience the dump live. We'll hope he enjoys it when he (eventually) catches up. This thing with his mother and the cult seems to be spiraling toward something, for sure. Hopefully Putin and the KGB will be powerful enough allies. David's gut instinct about Erik is worrisome, but we've seen he's not always right.
  3. Thanks for the cool comments jess! Yay! is right. Finally!! David and Twoey will next get together on Sunday, but it might not be the way we hope and expect. A few surprises pop up tomorrow.
  4. Thanks for the thoughts Parker! David sees himself beset by the cult, which he has now called "the enemy." Not surprisingly, at the very same moment, his subconscious has drafted KGB to defend him. Everything else seems to be fading out. This might not be good.
  5. What a perfectly beautiful chapter Parker! And what a perfect Valentine's Day for both boys. It's good to see Andy getting help. I'm sure he'll fill in more of the horrible details as he gets more comfortable. And yes, he's becoming more of a 'normal' boy, and by more than just getting the phone. Thanks for this!
  6. “Everything will probably never be OK.” - V. Putin *** At times your friend is not in sync with you. “I saw Kathy with cheating Cal yesterday.” Gary thought he was giving me a news bulletin. “Yeah, I did too.” “Well, what are you going to do about it?” “Nothing. She's free to go back with Cal.” My best friend looked exasperated with me. Jeez, I told him, didn’t I? This doesn’t change anything. Dad drove me to my Dr. Keating appointment this morning. On the way he told me in plain Engl

Thanks Timothy for your usual insightful comments! The Gary/Toth dance is interesting to watch, isn't it? Joanne is nudging but also aware, I think. The multi-faceted new portrait is probably important. The paintings to seem to be making him grow emotionally, as some of the others have pointed out. You're probably correct about the need to soften up before attempting anything with Gary. Now, what will Gary do about all that?

Hey spikey, thanks for the review and good questions! Now you don't expect me to answer any do you? ...hehe. One problem we (as the readers) have is the single POV. We won't find out about things until Toph does. We've already gathered he doesn't read people too well at this stage of his development (Nico, Austin, Charles) and so should be cautious about Gary, who comes with additional baggage. As you point out, painting may be key to his emotional growth. Nico WAS wronged, but let's never forget he's a Popendropolis and not without enormous resources and influence.
  9. Thanks for the review and comments spikey! Toph really doesn't make sense to anyone yet. For some reason his defenses are isolating him from life, even Austin really. He's not ready for Gary on several levels (in his head). Maybe things will change.

Thank You Graeme for you wonderful comments! You'll understand I need to avoid commenting on most of what you have said. You've fleshed out several of the enigmas presented so far. The story needs to answer those. I can comment on this method of Abstract Realism though. It is surely an exciting way to discover the soul of a painting, isn't it? If he can harness this energy, it could be a career. Gary may already be working on that one though.

Thanks for following and commenting jess! I get the feeling Toph was already pretty accomplished before his little meltdown. I'm sure it gave him the necessary tools to take off with Naomi's approach. The fact his portraits of Charles and Nico had such a profound effect on him, sheds light on the insights you noticed. I'm not sure Toph is oblivious to Gary, just wary.

Thanks for reading, and also commenting! I understand what you're saying, but is Toph ready for Gary and everything it would mean? Then, of course, we have Niles lying in the weeds

Hey tim, thanks so much for your comments! If Toph's going to bloom, it seems it will be with art. Gary may have to be a spectator for a while.

Thanks Parker! It's nice to see Toph beginning to shed his shield. Maybe Steve is what he needs. Gary seems to make him uncomfortable.
  16. Visible. This morning, as I left work, I said, “Good morning!” to the pretty boys entering. They smiled at me and returned the greeting. Not being invisible will take some getting used to. Arising, shortly after noon, I showered and prepared for the day, which was largely to be centered around Naomi. Of course, I visited her immediately after meeting Niles, to explain my seemingly superfluousness of names. That very day, while wandering about her shop I noticed a small sign. “Naomi, these cla
  17. Hey Def, thanks for your review and comments! You might be right about the sinister plan - and that corner trouble is waiting around might be closer than we think. yes that was a long, loving sibling moment, wasn't it Oh well, buckle up Def!
  18. Thanks for your reviews jess! I think David is beginning to feel more in control, which he seems to need. Josiah is a little bit of a wild card though. Is he alone in this or is it a chess move? We'll have to wait and see.
  19. Thanks for your usual great comments Parker! David DOES seem a bit more upbeat, and you seem to have caught some of the 'fun' sprinkled around. I mean, I wonder if Jeter realizes he retired twice About the sect. If Josiah was acting on his own, it's probably as you supposed. If he wasn't, then we may have a problem closer to David's suspicions. We'll have to keep a watch.
  20. Thanks for reading and reviewing jess! Things DO seem to be moving in the right direction, don't they? It only took 50 chapters ...hehe. Then of course we have the 'church' rearing its ugly head all over the place. I think David may need to bulk up to fight Goliath.
  21. What a great pair tim! They each whine to make their point, but daddy always wins! Like Gary, I thought the boy's last line was genius! You're very talented - and this was fun!
  22. Thanks for your review and great comments Lisa! I agree the acknowledgement of love between David and his father is important, especially as he feels increasingly isolated and attacked by his (Tommy's) mother and the "Church of Everybody's Going to Hell." It will bear watching. Ginny seems to be drawing David into the big reveal, which he has pointedly expressed (and even to her) the desire to be nowhere around when it happens. Expect fireworks
  23. “Relationships based on obligation lack dignity.” -Wayne Dyer *** “I can run tomorrow, but don't bother picking me up for school. I have a doctor’s appointment in the morning. And I haven’t made it official yet, breaking up with Kathy. I’ll have it all figured out in a few days at the most.” “What’s the holdup?” “Greg. I’ve got to talk with him first.” Gary merely nodded, like it was old news. Mel and Kathy probably spent all day Sunday gossiping about me. Twoey called after my shower and
