Somethin's Got To Give, Part Deux
skinnydragon commented on Robert Rex's story chapter in Somethin's Got To Give, Part Deux
OK Rex, I was about to become one of those hungry birds until I read tim's review. So since he already said it, I got a reprieve. Before I go further, I called the crayfish boil a 'bbq' in my ch6 review. I realize that's a great faux pas in certain parts of the States, so I apologize. Dragons aren't usually involved in bbqs or boils, so we're a little ignorant in that regard. I'm glad Rex was there to explain to Clayton he was going to be part of a couple. Let's get these two together already! hehe. Am I reading too much into Bikers/Barry/sickness? I hope so. Can't wait for what you promised next! -
Thanks for the intro to Chapter 7 Rex! I almost always read the end of a previous chapter before starting a new installment and NOTHING looked familiar, plus there was no 'like' for it. All I could imagine is I must have begun reading it when I had to shut down and leave for work or something. Thanks for making me realize I'm not crazy. I'm too young to be forgetting sh*t! A nice chapter btw. Loved Ryan discovered the ramps were built for him and meeting the kids. All flowed so naturally and the crayfish bbq was grand. Oh yeah, we can't forget Ryan's realization of what Clayton means to him. OK now to chapter 7!

You painted a beautiful chapter here tim. The description of the house was the visual painting. The description of Philip was the emotional painting. Hurt, guilt, longing, patience and love are difficult recipe ingredients -- you baked this cake perfectly. Lovely chapter, anticipating more!

Thanks so much for this dayne!! Tommy's mother a pig? Hmmmm ...David might have sorta said that: "That's some heavy sinning for a pastor who, at least, seems to have lived up to his nickname." Yep, he seems to have given her that honor, besides Pricka that is. Now about you last suggestion. Wow, what a thought! OK. I guess I'll need to hole up and rewrite the next five chapters
-
Hey jess, thanks for the great, if somewhat nauseous, comments ...hehe! You're right about it being too much for our little hero's head. He's already admitted it (sorta) to himself. I think you might be right about Chuck too. Everyone seems to be selling him short. He's gay, he's smart and he likes Matty and seems to be attracted to him. Matty's gaydar appears impeccable, but who knows what he's awakening

I thought GA had rules about this sort of thing .... RELIEF, I just knew PPF had kidnapped David. Sometimes, not very often, it's really good to be wrong. But with that white van looming, I doubt David is really safe. Vova gave David some sage advice, even if he watered down his explanation of the nuclear option. Back when Putin was hanging out in Prague, when the KGB was still the KGB, and the red army was REALLY RED, the collective set of polices around nuclear deterrence were know as MAD - "Mutually Assured Destruction". Be very careful David, check with Vladimir often, playing with nukes is dangerous business. "Prick and Pricka"? Another demotion? Poor Twoey, 2000 texts, no naked call, no kisses ... And poor Chuck. His questions are great, but he needs to ask Twoey, not Our Patron Saint of Clueless! Chuck, put your seat belt on little bro, you may just be going for a hell of a ride. Thank YOU oxala for an entertaining review - you've certainly caught the spirit of 18 weeks! MAD kidnapping bestiality, orbiting the Patron Saint of Clueless. I guess that pretty much sums it up for Nov. 6!

Thanks for your comments Def! Sorry for tempting you to lose your lunch. That WAS something severe for David to witness - what the eff did he know either! You're right with one thing, we can't put anything past them. I don't know if I'd call Matty a pimp, but he does have a one track mind, which has nothing to do with wrestling, although...

Thanks for your kind comments and insight, AC! Your focus on two aspects of Toph at this moment in his development - lack of self-knowledge and glimpse into his recognition of the spirit of others - causes me to compare him to a young colt: full of energy and potential, but clumsily stumbling over his own long legs. Yep, that's our Toph at this moment ...haha

What Val said. Taking care of yourself is the most important thing! Dragons know

Duality. The second half of December found my brain fighting with itself. Maybe that’s not completely accurate. It was divided on so many issues, but the two sides appeared to be living autonomously, if not exactly in harmony. It was something like an uneasy truce, living in daylight vs. nighttime; anger with Gary vs. acceptance of the internship; warmth and love of the season vs. the coldness of family; love of Steve vs. his possible betrayal. . . . . . . . . Daytime. Working during the day

Week Ten Thursday, November 6, 2014: An Offer They Can’t Refuse
skinnydragon posted new chapter in 18 Weeks of Twoey
“Sometimes it is necessary to be lonely in order to prove you are right.” - V. Putin *** I woke up, being gently shaken. I was in a ball, completely wrapped in my quilt, totally closed off from the fucked up world around me. I knew it was Tommy. “Time to get up if you're gonna have some breakfast before your gang gets here. You didn't run this morning.” “Go away!” “Are you sick? Should I tell mother?” “Go away!!” I felt him gently sit on the bed. His hand was on top of my quilt, resting- 13 comments

Chapter 58 Discovered
skinnydragon commented on Parker Owens's story chapter in Chapter 58 Discovered
Very nice Parker. Nice for Andy, especially. All the way through, I was certain this was Chapter Z. -- Even when I finished, I checked the status. Well, there's more to come, so bring it on! -
Chapter 4 White Water Rafting
skinnydragon commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 4 White Water Rafting
The "reveal" chapter, huh? Well, revealed to almost everyone. I'll let the others continue their Carly bash and Carly worry and moral dilemmas, after all, dragons don't usually worry about such stuff. We seek entertainment in irony and karma. Now, how many times has a mother lost a son-in-law she loved only for him to become the son-in-law she loves? Thanks for a great chapter Gary! -
Fascinating, MrM! I was certain this was a one chapter story until I rechecked the status. I can't imagine where it can go from here ...but I'm willing to find out!

skinnydragon commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Ten Wednesday, November 5, 2014: Doomsday
Hey Milos - thanks for dropping in and leaving your comments, which are pretty right-on! I promise 67 will be up faster than usual, I can't wait either What you said about the 'hooking up' attempt is pretty close. I mean, David is often not too consistent, like telling Deena to be herself, while not seeing what he himself is doing. But that's our little hero for ya. However in this case he's not quite so bad. I chapter 65, when he was explaining it to Twoey, he specifically referenced "I had enough done to me." He also said he didn't want to be a matchmaker, but only wanted for them to "discover each other." That may sound like nit-picking, but that kid's done a hell of a lot worse ...hehe. So I think his heart's in the right place and I think Twoey sees the difference, although Twoey is greatly affected by David, as we've seen. So bottom line, I'm not making excuses for them but they're not trying to horsey-force Sam. --I miss Danny too! -

Hey Tim! Yeah, I figured what you meant in your last sentence. I hate you can't edit these things. A trip to NYC would be an interesting thing to do. It would certainly get the woman out of his life, maybe the pastor too. We'll have to see how David processes things. As we've noticed, he's not always predictable. -

OK relax Def! Take a Valium or something. You know I usually don't do cliffhangers and I promise to post 67 quickly, right after Zander and Andy have their day. Parker and I don't like collisions Thanks for your comments and concern! -

Probably not David, but it's looking like PPF might pass muster in a third rate Mexican drug cartel. I smell kidnapping and I so hope I'm wrong. I hope his date with Deena doesn't get foobarred. I am soooooo looking forward to it, bound to be another kiss ... At least it looks like Burch may catch a little flack. I willing the bet money that the prick watches fox news. We'll know for sure when he assigns that killing Kennedy book ... Yeah oxala, sorry I strung that out yet another day But I'll post 67 pretty quickly, before the GA Voodoo dolls come out. The could be lots of interesting developments if the date with Deena were ever to happen... -

Come on Parker, he DID warn you that things started going downhill after lunch. Just how FAR downhill, even David didn't suspect. Thanks for your great comments, as always! -
Some seriously funny lines in this chapter Carl!!!

So foul and fair a day I have not seen. McB -WS *** “You’re not serious.” “Yes. I'm taking her to the Thanksgiving dance.” “Deena Hart.” “Yep.” “You're gonna wear body armor, right? Oh ...and don't forget a steel cup in case she knees you.” Gary was on a roll. “I think you're trying to stack up bigger numbers than my last-year all-time record of girlfriends!” “Oh no, you're record's safe. But she's never gonna be my girlfriend.” “Why not?” “Her own words. We'd kill each other withi

Hey Lisa, thanks for the review and comments. Most of the things you question haven't really been answered yet. His mother is a big question for lots of reasons. Clearly the Denny's don't need her income. We don't know her background. She's not a Denny. The only correction is she technically works for Michael England and might have been hired by his father, before him. Remember, back in the earliest chapters, Garrett was new and unknown to her. Also remember, she was affected by 'the loss of her youngest son' according to Gary. So maybe we shouldn't jump to conclusions about her ...although it's tempting. I know, with her and Tommy's mother it seems I have mother issues -- but really, I don't!!!! hehe
