    Hey Defiance, thanks for the review! Something's definitely going on with Tommy's mother off stage. Nothing else makes sense. I thought David was remarkably well balanced with the Lanni news. Perhaps she was still in the 'maybe' stage in his thinking, so it was easier. Just a guess. Twoey should NOT go to Danny's house.

    I have to agree with spikey about Eustace. It would be pleasant to believe Eustace will become a new father for Eric, but that's not gonna happen. I have the feeling Ambrose's 'family' is going to cause a problem for Eric, and might be the beginning of the end of his little vacation.

    Thanks for the comments Lisa! These 4 chapters (28-31) are the intermezzo before Part 2 begins (Ch 32). Sam is, in a way, David's court jester. He exposes David to the truth, when he feels the need. He's not gay, but he is devoted to David unlike any of David's other friends. I hope David can repay him one day.

    Thanks for the review and tears Lisa! I have to admit, each time I rewrote the chapter, I got them too. I really fell in love with Danny myself. Sometimes David understands stuff so well, other times he's really obtuse! Maybe it's a subconscious defense mechanism that won't allow him to see the truth.

    Sorry Lisa, I guess Part 1 did end with a bang. This part was titled "Twoey Discovering Himself," and that he did! (To the dismay of a few reviewers.) Next we have to work on David a bit.

    A nice break for Eric! Eustace reminding him it was Eric's own money was both poignant and interesting. I agree with the others (feels odd not to be the first review) that Eustace knows something is up, but as you mentioned, is one to mind his own business. Ambrose's family. That's interesting. Could be some grandkid who will be a bit of a test for Eric. He didn't trust Toby and won't trust anyone for a long time. Thanks for a very rewarding chapter Parker!

    Thanks Parker for the review and probing questions! Twoey's in danger, but more from his desire to not live than from black helicopters ...so far. David needs help ...for sure, and not from his church. Twoeys mom, good question. She might be too analytical to blame those 3 boys ...as long as Twoey lives.

    Thanks for the review and thoughts CG! Yes, it might me early to come to conclusions, Things need to shake out and settle down a bit. This was a major happening. I'm beginning to get a funny feeling about Kathy too. Maybe David's acknowledgment re: feelings for Twoey, are repressed thoughts now breaking through bit by bit? Not sure yet, but a possibility.

    This may happen, or have happened. If Tommy's mother fielded that call, where do you suppose she'd go with the information? David's father? David? or Enos Johnson. She may already have intruded on David's privacy, now it could get much worse. Tommy's mother is a key we haven't yet explored, I think. The author will hopefully flesh her out a bit more for us.

    Thanks Reader! I'll bet Markey took advantage of Ian the whole time they were together. It was just too easy for his type. Ian was probably too trusting. Thanks to Shawn and Miles, Ian is slowly coming around. They are the best medicine for him.

    I wonder what Mr. Whitley is thinking. He can't be buying Eric's story completely. One good thing, Eric is getting the experience of someone appreciating him. That's probably going to payoff down the road sometime. A good chapter Parker! It's nice to see something developing between Eric and the farmer. Looking forward to more!

    Thanks for the comments CG! Of course, everything you said is true. But they are in love, and Miles understands Ian. Ian better get comfortable fast, because there's only two more of these to go! Hmmm ...I'll think of something!

    Thanks for the review Lisa! I'm glad you're still slogging through "Twoey" ...haha. Danny's behavior has a cause, as most people's behavior does. You'll find out soon enough. I'm glad you like Tommy. He's both fun and difficult to write. Difficult because, while I think I can remember when I was 15, being 13 ...and how we spoke ...is right on the event horizon for me ...hehe. Good news! We're not done with Deena!

    It's nice to see 'Eric Anderson' catch a little break. Food, a place to sleep, promised money. All he has to do is stay anonymous for a week or so, I wonder how long it's gonna take Mr. Whitley to figure it out? Probably not long, if he hasn't already. It's pretty difficult to be an outsider in such a rural community. In any event, I don't think he'd pose any danger to Eric. The only problem, of course, is Eric. Once he gets found out his urge to flee is going to be very urgent.

    Thanks for the comments/questions Parker! There will be no media circus (Ch. 30 for that) David is entering terra incognito (Ch. 32, the beginning of Part 2 for that.) in other words no spoilers ...hehe. These few chapters are to short for that!
