    Chapter 12

If you look at it from Alvarez's point of view, him allowing the other one to get away, solved a problem. Jeb is gone and no longer in the running for Devon's affections. Good move by the outlaw. It was nice to get into the mindset of the other one, his turn felt unreal until this chapter, clearly laid out, logical in a perverted sense. And without Jeb dying, we never would have gotten that insight, so great job. I had said at the outset, that Jeb had a long uphill battle for me to change my mind about him. Poor guy left us before he could make that happen. Finally, we come to Devon, who is somehow better than both Jeb and Alvarez. Now Alvarez has to compete with a ghost, serves him right for letting the murderer get away. I can't wait to see how Devon is affected by these new turn of events. Loved this chapter!

Let me say I love that you are trying, not as hard as Li/Ly is to get me to write the second chapter in Gabriel's story. And I like that you took the time to actually research that. The list you cited, I believe only counts how many people hit your story page. That doesn't translate into people actually reading the story. If you add up all the individual chapter views for Gabriel Gambit, I am sitting at 30% chapter views over how many people looked at the story page itself. When you set the filters to this month, against everything, it's embarrassing how badly Gabriel's Gambit actually did. Tyler's Dilemma, finished over a year ago, has more story page views than Gabriel's Gambit in the last thirty days. Frosted Hearts even beats Tyler's Dilemma. A story I uploaded over twelve years ago has more story page views that Gabriel's Gambit. I also checked comedy, and Gabriel's Gambit was like on page 23. have I told you how much I like looking at data. . Gabriel's Gambit has a poorly written synopsis and might have been categorized wrong. I am thinking of changing the synopsis to reflect what the story is actually about, because its far more light-hearted and fun than I made it out to be. It also has a nice mystery element like a who-dun-it that I left out. I will never say never, but I'm currently hip deep in another Glacier Bay tale and might revisit this early next year.

    Chapter 11

Alvarez only having five shots, just proves he's not a very good gunfighter. I knew it was all bluster. Devon doing the dirty with Jeb, that's some kind of slutty behavior I would expect from myself. If I were to put myself in Alvarez's shoes, in that time frame, I don't think it would have bothered me in killing one of the other two. People died back then all the time. Nor do I think Devon would have judged him thusly. Jeb might have been upset but he distanced himself from the other two so he could go work for the madame on his back. So Alvarez was worried about nothing. And now I want to say thank you for Topher, I have been wanting to write a western for years but I always was fearful of getting the language or setting wrong. But this story got me thinking and I started my own oater from an idea I got from the last chapter. Of course its months away from debuting, but thanks.

    Chapter 2

I can't remember how to spell his name, Raulche/Rualche, so he will now be known as the Other One and The Malik. There, I just fixed your character problem!

    Chapter 9

Support Your Local Sheriff is one of my favorite westerns, so I don't mind comedy westerns. It's not always about action. On to the next chapter.

    Chapter 9

So here we are, nine chapters in. Alvarez is made out to be some kind of fierce outlaw, deadly, yet it's never shown to be true. The town laughs at him, his employees tolerate him. The only "fight" he was involved in, he didn't even win. Devon, the supposed hero, is worse than him. Trying to make someone, who I don't believe ever did any murdering, jealous is rather dumb. The Madame is a true feces stirrer, and helping Jeb is only causing more chaos. I am struggling to see the plot of this tale. It's written well, and the characters are fun and engaging. But it doesn't seem to know what type of story it is. In the last chapter, we have the other two murdering people, and this chapter could be an episode of any sitcom on TV. Yes, it was that entertaining. I would have liked to have seen, in the last nine chapters, where Alvarez is actually shown to be a dangerous man instead of being told he is. In all reality, he's pretty much been played for laughs since chapter one. So all the postering he does is just, kind of sad, because I don't believe him. This is one frustrating oater you have going on. It's fun to read, but damn does it raise my blood pressure.
  7. There is a topic of AI Influence. Here Quite a lively debate a few weeks ago. You might find it interesting to read what people think about AI taking over creative spaces. I'm not sure Luddites is appropriate for many of those arguments stated there.
  8. ask @drsawzall if my stories have love and romance in them.
  9. Lying isn't one of my faults...of which I have many. Most of them adding little to no import on Westerns. But I do love me some cowboy love lust

    Chapter 8

I would have liked to see the two outcasts on their journey from three youths attacking riders with sticks and leaving valuables behind because they were so naive to the world, to hardened killers. From your timeline, it's been less than a month since Devon got it on with the one I don't like in the barn. Short time to abandon everything they knew without some kind of motivation behind it. Alvarez turning down the banker was done with a smart reason. How would he explain that to Devon? At least you brought back the lion in this chapter. . Can't wait to the morning for the next chapter. I'll wait here, thanks.
  12. Rodger...I shall try my best to refrain. Dunno, it's only chapter four...I might be a randy slut but I don't give my heart out willy nor nilly. They must wine and also dine me before I go admitting feelings after only four chapters. .
  13. I remember now, that's why I said there was no sex in Sidewinder!!! . Romance is another word for love, and love is boring!!!! PS: Yesterday was my seventh wedding anniversary. I trust you won't mention that to him.
  14. That Fletcher must be one helluva kisser. August dry humped him once, kissed him, and he's already asking the boy to move in. Slow down, boy, he was ready to give you the milk for free, no sense buying the cow. Though Fletcher has his own cows to milk. Did that sound dirty? For once, I wasn't making a sex joke. Grandmother lives with a spinster? Lesbian. August, Fletcher, go on down to swallow in the barn, err, Barnswallow. Your nan is family. Where was I? I should've gotten the hint because you called it out twice. In that thread from earlier today, where you said sex between committed couples. So I guessed filthy is out. .
  15. So Ron/Rob (can't remember) followed him to the dry hump'nest river in the west to confront him for some reason I'm not quite sure. Though August was sticking up for himself, for once it wasn't his peen, and telling his brother off. The brother acted contrite but we all know how that story goes. Good honest ranchers always learn their lesson after just one time. And wow, after three chapters we are already at, lets be honest with our feelings stage. August seemed to make up his mind rather quickly. I was hoping for another naked romp in the sandy bottoms. On to Chapter Four, will they kiss, will they bone, will they string flowers in one another's hair? Don't know, but I'm galloping onwards.
  16. So August has had the fluttering eyes for many years. Albert seems like a wonderful man, caring, understanding and only trying to make a strong man out of his looking too much like his mamma's son. That tracks. And an older brother to stir the pot. Though it was weird that everyone was balking at the idea that a soon to be sixteen year old was too young for courting. If I were a normal person, I would have deleted the above sentence. For some reason, I thought girls married much younger then. But after googling, I found out the average age was 20 to 22 to get married. I shan't delete the sentence cause it makes me laugh. But I can see some future problems based on August staring at Fletcher's bulge on that day. Which is probably what Ron is referring. August keep those virgin eyes safely on underage girls. Thanks.
  17. “Don’t you want to put it in?” His rear pushed upward just a mite, but it was enough to make his fast-beating heart do some leaps. He was imagining this, right? “Ah… what are you doing? Fletcher? Put what in?” Finally, a western that gets right to the boinking. Nothing like a roll in the sandy bottoms to blow off some steam. August let go and leapt off the man. Not sure I'd have the same control if the guy is begging for it. So Roping the Moon starts off with naked men boning up at the river. One's got a bad father, the other is the golden boy. Go figure the bad boy is the top. So the father tries to keep them apart, whilst in the middle of a range war cattle vs sheep. Maybe they get out late at night, run into each other, one gets bitten by a snake, and the other must suck him off to attempt to get the poison. Err, suck the poison out is what I meant. Let's see how this goes. August seems right confused whilst Fletcher seems more accepting of his bottomness.
  18. You say that now before you read my silly comments. .
  19. I'm just there now. I think I read the sequel only, but it was a while ago. I'mma check out this new one and I apologize in advance.
  20. As nature intended! It has been a while since I read it, but my memory is that I loved it, but was disappointed that there was no sex in it. I will say it's been a long time and many bottles of whiskey ago. Is it the one with a sequel? Right? I didn't see a new Western pop-up; I must have missed it. I usually read all westerns, a genre I love to read, but can't figure out how to write/right. I have a great idea based on the town of Bodie, California, but can't get the language right/write.
  21. And that is why I will never read it! . It's werewolves, not shifters. . You can ask Jack about my thoughts on WEREWOLVES. Though his story, Big Paws was highly entertaining, though he vilified the heroes, Vampires! I did give your Sidewinder Tale a read through. no graphic sex, but it was a nice oater. I'm currently reading another fun western from Topher, no sex either, but its a hoot. Can't remember the name, but its one of his new ones.
  22. I agree, and there are several I have already avoided. Though I have reconsidered my stance just a crack. Sometimes we have authors whose English is not the language in which they create in. And then they use AI to translate into English. Maybe they don't go in and try to clean up the AI slop but they didn't use AI as a crutch like some of the other authors I've read where you can see AI's fingerprints from the very first "not in a subtle way, not speaking truth to power, but as one would while looking at the ocean slowly erode the shore" And yes, that was a sentence I read as an opening paragraph in a high school story. To keep the thread on track, I do not consider names while choosing a story, but mostly I read the blurb and tags. I rarely read certain types of stories, no matter who wrote them. I normally avoid No Sex stories (don't judge I'm a known perv), werewolves, paranormal, STEM, and hardcore Sci-Fi light on action and big on world building. I tend to stick to comedies, WESTERNS!, light-hearted mysteries, and fantasy.
  23. Welcome to a fun, sex filled, crazy story about two friends alone in a cabin.

    Chapter 7

And you say I can swear in your comments. With language like that, my language is so tame I'd be embarrassed. Funny observation that makes me giggle, you start each new chapter and time jump by describing the sky and or weather outside a building. And boy is Devon proving out to be the little missionary boy I thought he might avoid. A few well rehearsed comments whilst naked does not impress me. And not a mention of the lion in this chapter. And the Madame, from her ivory tower, stirring the pot, whilst also making poor Jeb the bottom for horny cowboys. What other horrible scenes will you inflict upon poor Alvarez before things get better? Don't know, but I'm down to find out. Sally forth

It's very bittersweet for me as well. Gabriel's Gambit has been a part of me for over twenty years in one form or another. It was the very first novel length story I ever wrote. Granted, it was heavily re-written in this format about two years ago. I hestitated on posting it because I didn't think many would enjoy it. But I had put in so much hard work into the story I figured, I'm gonna put it out there because I am proud of the story. So thank you reading it really means a lot to me. And I might feel differently down the road, the outlines are there, and I know where its going and the final ending so I'll never say never. It just won't be for a while. Thanks again for all your support across all my stories.
