Happy day to you, too, tim. It’s supposedly 36C (97F) outside, but I’m not venturing outside to see if I agree or don’t agree. The AC is set at 26C (79F) and it’s just kicked on again, so I’m staying put. I hope you and your men are keeping cool. xoxo

Sorry to hear your area is still having air quality issues. I noted the red bar. (as I like to call it) alert was gone for Toronto and my town, so I thought we were getting in the clear. I hope the cool weather in the next few days helps dissipate the haze as I think it’s the warm weather that keeps it in place.

local asparagus sounds lovely - enjoy! Mucci Farms - Kingsville, Ontario - is sold at my local Metro, so, if you are near one of them, I’d have a look. The name on the carton is smucchies.

Poor sparrow. I hope he was able to find his/her way home. A rat? Ugh… My days been good so far, though I just came in from pulling a ridiculous amount of mushrooms (toadstools?) out of the lawn under the crabapple tree. Kinda gross, because some were turning black and were very soft. Who knew having a left over box of “COVID gloves” would come in handy, eh? Hope the rest of your day with your men is a good one!

I found the picture of the carton online, and it turns out I’ve been buying the PC brand of Ontario greenhouse strawberries. My Google search shows other stores have their own versions of this. Hope that helps.

I actually grocery shopped today and gave the blueberries a look from afar as I decided on bananas and apples instead. I will be trying this recipe, though as it looks really good. And, might I add, they look suspiciously like his Strawberry Oatmeal Crumble ( can’t remember their exact name atm) bars. Which reminds me, I keep forgetting to buy chia seeds. My nephew introduced me to chia pudding, which I found very much to my liking, so I ran out of them. Oh wells… PS: Have you tried Ontario hothouse strawberries? Every time I’ve bought them - even over the winter months - they’ve always been exceptionally tasty.
