This is really promising. Gwen was kept her cool and didn’t overthink too much. I’d say her confidence got a major boost, and that bodes well for Gwen in the future as she now knows things can turn out right. She was mindful and just got to it. Comfort zone be damned. My original opinion of her has thawed.

I like Matt and Andy are being careful and aware around each other. Slow and steady wins the race and all that. Matt still has a lot of things to sort out, and I think Andy will be a help with the sorting.

This made me chuckle. We would all be so fortunate to have a “Maeve” in our lives. She's a wonderful cheerleader.
-
Thank goodness for Maeve not putting up with Andrew’s indecision (though it is understandable, imo) as I’m not sure he would have contacted Matt to arrange a visit without her “encouragement”. I may have read it already, but I am very much looking forward to reading about Andrew’s visit. On the the next chapter, I go…

Now that I think about it, thats it exactly.

Sounds good to me, because I don’t recognize any nowadays either!

*waves* back Nice to see you, Wolf.

Good afternoon, Mike. And the same to you and tim, and Dan. We had heavy rain for about 10 minutes this morning and now the skies are blue with a few fluffy clouds. I’m hoping it will stay that way.
-
I hear your frustration, tim. You should do something nice after they're done, so you can mark this day as a good day. xoxo

Hi @Gary L and welcome to the DiC 🙂

A most kind and considerate individual that person is. I must remember to thank them.

I am conflicted as what to say about Gwen. Even though she seemed to have found her humanity in the end, she was quite awful earlier, and that’s hard to forget. For now, I’m of the mind holding a grudge on Matt’s behalf is the way to go as I truly cannot remember (dagnabbit!) what happened with their relationship when all was said and done.
-
Sorry to hear you had such a rough start to your trip, Chris. I hope you’re feeling better now. I’m thinking good thoughts the rest of the trip will go off without a hitch, so you’ll be able to enjoy your holiday as you envisioned.
-
I believe Gwen actually means what she says, and she’s not just fishing for a denial from Matt. Recognizing her failure as a parent is a good first step towards becoming worthy of being called “Mom”. Or in the very least, they can have a better relationship as adults seeing as I don’t think Matt needs Gwen to be “mothering” at this point.

Oops. Posted in the wrong chapter. 🤦♀️

Have a great trip, Chris!

Have a great day, Cassie!

His behaviour, especially for a newbie, is weird and can definitely be seen as creepy. Better to overreact, so he stays on your radar in case his behaviour gets weirder. Good luck and take care.

Socks, eh? That was me the first cold day. It was if a switch had been flipped to cold, and it’s still like that. No wide open windows overnight, though it’s seems like yesterday we needed the AC on… Mind you, it does make for a more pleasant walk in the evening.

I know I mentioned this during my beta read, but my appreciation of your clever way with words is as strong now as is it was back then. The meaning behind these words is palpable. As for Matt and Ahmet’s “reunion”? It’s quite sad to see Ahmet is now the one who is trapped while Matt has regained his freedom.

Andrew has a good heart., and I believe all he could think about was saving Matt. Because, if he did nothing, he wouldn’t have been able to live himself. Andrew was Matt’s only chance for rescue, and that’s an undeniable fact, imo. Sometimes we do things that are wrong, but the reasons for doing so are right.

This morning it was 76% humidity indoors and we got an inch and one-half of rain shortly after 6:30 a.m. Debby has moved on it looks like, and I really hope she’s gone for good. It has cooled off now, and I hope that is the case for you as well.
-
That’s terrific! I bet he was so proud - as he should be - of himself.

Hi Solus, it’s good to see you! *waves* Just got back from grocery shopping, and it’s been cooler the past couple of days, so that’s been a nice change from the heat. I hope you’ve been keeping well.

I can feel the breath Matt let out as this realization hit him. That’s got to feel good over feeling nothing but bad things for so long.
