  1. Wow, and I thought it was bad when you have to pick through oranges with soft spots. Sounds like a great idea. Who cares what they look like as long as they taste good, right? So far - knock on wood - my grocer has always had good produce. Which is good for me because I’m trying to eat healthy which means avoiding prepackaged and/or food with a lot of preservatives. I hope Remarkable Rejects work out for you and tim.
  2. I do jigsaw puzzles on my tablet. There are really good apps for this with a huge collection of colourful puzzles. Jigsaw Bug is my fave, but I also like ones that have free daily puzzles, because I never know what I’m going to get. Good to know about the Amazon Basic pencils, because I realized after the fact that some colouring books are geared towards pencil use - regular crayons don’t adhere to the pages very well.
  3. I do this as well, but I admit I still like using crayons over pencil crayons because I like how they glide across the page. Got myself a 64 pack with a sharpener. Always wanted that when I was young, so I’m guessing some part of me still does… It is very relaxing, that’s for sure.
  4. Wish this wasn’t so, but I do appreciate this place and what it means to those who go there.
  5. Hey Starry Monday and Tuesday were really hot my way. With the humidity it was feeling 106F according to the weather network, and they were right! Put the AC on both days. Today you’d think you were being punked because it was 73F with a chilly breeze. I was almost cold on my walk wearing shorts. lol Im sure as I think you are too grown kiddo will do just fine. Still, it’s natural to worry, even if it’s just a little bit.
  6. This is really good, and so true, tim. It’s a good way to think about oneself and everyone else out there.
  7. Very true. The arborist that we deal with is the epitome of eye candy which is a really nice bonus.
  8. We’ve had the pros in before. They know exactly what they’re doing and they do it safely. Plus, they get rid of the debris. Hail we did not get, just two inches of heavy rain in a very short time. Oh, and high winds, of course. Edit: Wait a minute. You had hail today? It was really hot here, but sunny, but as I’m typing this I think I hear thunder… I’m not worried really. She’ll find out pretty quick if she tries holding the cutter thingie in the air that she’s out of her league.
  9. Sadly, it’s more like living in a dream world. The branch is at least 10 to 12 feet off the ground, so there is zero chance of either of us bringing that branch down safely. Heck, we have two neighbours- one is really tall - who’d probably volunteer to do it, but my mom said no to that in case they got hurt. I mean, if she’s entertaining the idea that able bodied males might get hurt, what makes her ignore that as a possibility if one of us tried?
  10. It’s been hot here, and when it’s not I’ve been weeding. Oh, and we had high winds and heavy rain a couple of days ago. The storm snapped a branch - at least 3 inches in diameter - clean off the very tall Maple tree on our front lawn. It fell through the tree and is now hung up on the trunk quite high up. It’s long enough that its end branches - much smaller, thankfully - ended up crashing into the Rose of Sharon shrub/tree in front of the bay window. Good thing the branch got hung up or it might have hit the window. I did manage to break off the smaller branches to free the Rose of Sharon, but the rest of it won’t budge, so a call has been put into the tree people to come deal with it. PS: My mom (who will be 88 next month) has asked more than once if we can handle it ourselves because my dad used a branch cutting thing on an extendable pole for situations like this. Given her age, and the fact she is now shorter than my 5’1”, and she’s never done anything like this before I keep telling her no, absolutely not. Never mind my brothers would have my hide if I let her try. *sigh*
  11. To all my American DiCer friends…
  12. Good night molly…happy dreams
  13. Glad you liked it, molly. She has a whole channel full of dancing videos as she’s quite the little diva. Most of them are short, so they’re good for a quick pick me
  14. The weird thing was she hadn’t done anything wrong. She asked me for information which I didn’t have. Her response was to tell the people asking for said information I refused to help her. To top it off, she cc’d me on the email otherwise I’d have never known she threw me under the bus. To this day, I can’t figure out her thought process. Luckily, I knew one of the nurses who received the email, and she knew better than to believe I was deliberately being unhelpful.
  15. Yay for hubby. As for the bus thing, that’s happened to me as well. It really sucks when people do something so mean.
  16. There’s quite a few videos of her dancing on their channel. The way she prances around throwing up one or both wings to all different kinds of music is really precious. She truly is a happy girl now.
  17. Okay, I just have to share this because Griffi the Cockatoo is a day brightener. Her previous home situation wasn’t good so she stress pulled out all of her feathers. Her new “mom and dad” dote on her, so she’s a happy dancing bird now.
  18. Me neither, actually. I’m just enjoying the wonderful weather right now as it’s supposed to turn to T-storms this afternoon. Anyway, at least you don’t have to deal with customer issues today, so that’s something. You and Mike can spend a day where it’s just about the two of you. See ya laterz…
  19. Happy Canada Day @Mikiesboy and @MichaelS36 I hope you both have a great day.

    The Date

Aw, they’re sweet together. I like this instalment of their story - nice pacing and very believable. Thanks, tim.
  21. I missed this. How did I miss this???? Ah, but it turned out okay, because it’s a bonus read for me now. Good start, tim. Now, back to the sequel…
  22. I saw this word on the Forum homepage. I pronounced it in my head. This is where my mind went.
