I did notice. There are a lot of people that find it difficult to believe that this sad fact is still with us. Understanding that progress has been made, does not mean the problem has vanished. I hope that what they believe will in fact happen. I also hope it will happen soon.

Seth continues on the road to chaos. It is an explosive mixture you have created @Ronyx! I fear the results when the chaos cannot be contained and the explosive consequences fall on Seth. I suspect Mom's trip will results in many more problems to add to the mixture even if it doesn't result in the explosions. Great writing! I really enjoy the suspense and intrigue of the plot. It keeps many different emotions on edge.

Sad but true. Only two states have a total ban on corporal punishment of students. Even states that ban it in public schools allow it in private schools. Some like Texas allow it in schools, but have provisions like allowing parents to make a written demand that it no apply to their child.

This story is like a Christmas stocking hung on the mantle of a fireplace. It is warm, fuzzy and filled with a lot of delightful things to make your Christmas bright. It is also filled with the spirit of the season as well as some great humor. Just wait till you read about the mad cow!

You do have the 'knack' for writing magical Christmas stories, even when they are not stories involving magic. This is another one I'm stuffing in my Christmas sock to read again in December. I loved the mad cow making John realize all the things he has to make his Christmas special. Nice touch at the end with the under the tree confession and chocolate cookie lesson.

It's just the beginning and you have already put me through the emotional wringer. These characters and the situation they are in are very well written. I think this story will be an amazing addition to the other great stories you have created.

Considering that Perry and Kyan are best friends, it is a possibility. I've watched a lot of the evening soaps decades ago, so I wouldn't mind seeing it happen between the two. Of course it won't be easy. Mrs. G never takes the easy way out.

I'm really enjoying the story. The boys' growing attachment is a plus for me. I also am enjoying the development of Ethan's parents. They are good people and great parents. Like others, I'm hoping Jackson gets what's coming to him. He obviously knows that the boys have given him a metaphorical one finger salute. I hope it upset him enough to make him do something stupid and lose his job. I am also wondering how the boys' project is going. I hope that Ethan will meet Wayne's grandfather soon.

As a retired teacher I am appalled when teachers use corporal punishment or other negative and abusive forms of punishment. This type of punishment is rarely effective and usually produces negative results. There are so many ways to administer a punishment that will help a student without negative consequences. These are still punishments, because the students don't like them. They are effective, because they are created to help the student by considering the situation and outside factors that may be relevant. I am enjoying reading and watching how these two boys are developing a bond. Very well written chapter.

You have me hooked one the first chapter. There are two main reasons. The first is that I love a story that starts with a good development of the characters. You accomplished that with two very good characters that I like very much. The second is the inclusion of Native American culture, beliefs and history in a positive light.
