This is an excellent story in a setting somewhere in the universe. It feels like the civilization is a bit medieval, but very different. The setting is realistic, and the characters are well developed to the point the reader can really feel for them. The plot is exciting and is full of adventure as well as horrors. I loved this well written story!
What a gritty beginning with horrendous punishments based on accusations and not the truth. I loved the development of the characters Tomolo and and La'gan as well a Grandfather, Taraq and Carig. The action was fast paced and the writing was great! I would love another story in this universe. Well done SA!
This was a great little stocking stuffer, and I will read it again next Christmas. It does make the eyes a bit moist, but the real flood came with the happiness at the end. In my opinion, the greatest victims of war are kids and families.
I am usually left hungry after reading chapters in this story even if I have just eaten before reading. I'm hoping GG has some great suggestions and resources to help Armand with the paintings for the children.
There was a lot of great speculation in the story when Jamie and the rest discussed changes they felt were happening in their world. That and possible the luck given to the group of travelers lead me to believe that Gorge may also have the knack and be able to join the group in their quest. I did like the way Jamie managed to get rid of the electron monster.
The comments were interesting if at times above my understanding.
Hi Dugh! I am with you on them stereotyping. I wonder what the courts would rule if a LGBTQ business owner decided to not sell to customers that held hateful beliefs like this salon owner as long as the religion was not mentioned.
I wouldn't worry much about this Gary. I think it is a side affect of the SA Anthology. A lot of people are reading these new stories, and putting off starting archived stories.
BTW, I am very impressed by the work you are doing on your new book. I think you are wise putting off reading other stories while you write.
Hey All! My romantic date with my husband was great. The restaurant was pricy, but the food, service and decor were awesome. Aod even liked the red wine I chose. The servers were very attentive, but we never felt rushed even if almost every table was filled.
Hope everything is going well for you all!
A great start that leaves you wanting more, much more. It's an intriguing mystery that involves two estranged brothers. The writing style is excellent and flows smoothly. Excellent entry to the SA Anthology.
Apparently, Beckett chose the up and over option. I do hope he survives his choice with little harm. I hope they have something for frostbite, and he doesn't pass out and fall from the lack of oxygen.
Since we're all intrigued with the mystery and not just the relationship problems of the brothers, I think that there could be a great story here. So...I will offer my own speculation on the mystery.
Stormy and Cloud Rider are almost identical, but Stormy is already a proven horse and makes money for his owners. Cloud Rider is younger and unproven. Stormy suddenly dies. There are several reasons a horse can die young. Cloud Rider was switched or stolen to replace Stormy, and Stormy's body left in the cave.
A very interesting tale. It leaves a lot of questions in its wake, but that means it would be a great start to a novel by this author. I do hope the author does decide to continue the story.
I almost forgot to tell you all. I bought my new computer today. It's the iMac 24. I decided on the aqua color, since the didn't make this model in purple. I still need an adapter or two for all the USB printer and hard drives. It arrives sometime next week. Then I have to transfer all the files and non Apple apps! Going to be a busy week.
Hey All! I just got notice from GA that I have reached the rank of Epic Scribe. I only have to earn 750,000 to reach the top level. That should take several more years.
