Aaron comes from a dysfunctional family. I agree that Aaron's main motive is to prove he's better than Luke and Seth. It is frustrating to see Rory sit next to Luke feeling safe and comfortable and not realizing why he feels that way.
-
Personally, I don't see the reason Rory is attracted to Aaron. It seems their basic character traits are always at loggerheads. Of course the same could be said for Rory and Luke. What really needs to happen is for Rory to spend time with his family. He should be thinking of that as his goal for the summer and concentrate on that, not Aaron. I hope Eddie understands that both Jase and Rory need time alone to deal with their anger. He can use the times together to create good memories and trust. Both are missing, but if Eddie doesn't do this he hasn't a hope that Rory will stay past the summer. Rory should be spending more time with Dave, Rick and Brian. Friends are the source of information about the men in Rory's family. Eddie needs to tell Rory things that happened in Gina's life.

Hi Mischief Maker! Been missing you. Are you and the family OK now?

Howdy Bucket! I hope your having a good time and enjoying the weather.

Hi Gary! I can understand your caution. There is a large audience for supernatural stories, and a great number of good authors that cater to them. However, the quality and uniqueness of Malaise is outstanding. I am sure it will be in the top echelon.

Hopefully the time apart will be good for both Sawyer and Marc. I suspect that Marc is right, and Finn is not as bad as Sawyer pictures him. I wonder what poisoned their relationship. It is obvious that Reba is pissed at Sawyer for running away, but I'm hoping that it will be a wake up call for Marc. How much time will it take Marc to understand they can't have a hidden relationship sneaking around in fear whenever they want to be with each other? Marc seems to admit there are reasons from the past that are holding him back, but doesn't seem to be able to trust Sawyer enough to talk about these.

I Can't Believe You Made Me Do That
raven1 commented on DomLuka's story chapter in I Can't Believe You Made Me Do That
Amazing how Aaron keeps showing up at just the right place and time. He is very smooth, buy giving good advice followed up by a pass that sounds so sincere. -
Interesting conversations with Luke resulting in mixed messages, Eddie trying for a second chance, Jase seeming a bit hostile in his silence and finally in Aaron with his apology. Not a great start to the day.

A great lesson on the powerful destructive force unleashed by lies and secrets. The story would be much happier if Rory only had to deal with the death of his mother. On top of her death he has to deal with the lies he know knows were the basis of his entire life. Those who could have chosen to gain his trust by courageously telling him the truth are now distrusted. It's a very sad situation, but at least now there are no more secrets. Hopefully Eddie, Luke and Rory will have hit the bottom, and have a chance at building some trust in each other. Rory does need to be wary of Aaron. Seth was obviously not happy or had any trust in Aaron. Aaron is wearing a mask, and when it is removed will reveal someone who is only superficially pretty and soulless on the inside.

I so agree with @Albert1434! I haven't liked Aaron much, but was impress with his attempt to get Rory to realize knowing the truth was a good thing, and he should be happy and not upset. I also understand why Rory wants Eddie to tell him what he already knows. Eddie's clumsy attempts to be a friend, not a father, has lead to great distrust. Rory really wants to trust Eddie, but cannot because of all the lies and secrets. Not a good situation. In fact Eddie has created a very dysfunctional environment.

Some great history and culture of early western European civilizations is clearly explained by Arnaud and Roger. The boys are all getting a wonderful education as they travel in Greece.

I didn't like Aaron so much, but was willing to give him a second chance. Now I am not so sure. He is creeping to the edge of unbelievable. It was definitely not his responsibility to tell Rory about everyone in the house. He is very stupid at best and manipulative in outing the family. Of course it was Eddie's lack of honesty that is really to blame. He still needs to act like a father as Jase suggested and be totally open with Rory. I don't know how Rory will react, but think that Eddie's lack of foresight was wrong. I am sure that the package sent will also bring to light the fact that Eddie broke off with Gina because he was gay, and her leaving was due to a pregnancy that would have changed Eddie's life. She sacrificed her future to save Eddie. Another great twist to the plot!

Rory's life has just gained a new complication. I believe in second chances, but wary of Rory giving Aaron that opportunity. Rory is vulnerable and I wonder at what story Aaron will tell/make up in his pursuit of Rory. At least he is honest about being gay.
-
I certainly hope now that Rory know some of the truth, he will be able to start over. Grandma certainly used Rory and Eddie's rude behavior as a dodge for her own complicity in keeping the truth from Rory. There is still a lot of explaining to happen, but hopefully Rory's anger will no longer stop conversations before they begin.

I beautiful, warm ending. Hopefully, we will read another soon about how Ashley managed to get the young Ijon to accept her proposal of marriage. I bet there were a lot of fun times to get from the proposal to marriage with interference from Bigger-me, Cove and Uncle Todd.

Ash avoids commitment, but his efforts to stay single are at risk. His mini-me is out to make Ash change his life. This is a delightful tale of romance and fun. I enjoyed the tension, erotic interludes and humor of this tale. It has earned a spot in my heart. I highly recommend this to all readers.

The biggest secret has now been revealed. It was the most logical explanation for what has been happening and the worst way for Rory to find out. Eddie should have followed Jase's (and I expect Grandma Alice's) advice. Once things have settled a bit, I hope Rory will be asking other questions that will explain the actions of his mother as well as uncover the other big secret Eddie, Jase and Luke share. Maybe then Luke can also share his secret about himself and his sperm donor.
-
I'm not angry at any of the characters, but frustrated with all the secrecy that abounds. Grandma knows the story, but refuses to intervene. Her only excuse is probably a commitment to Eddie or Gina to not say anything. I am frustrated with Rory, because he is imagining all sorts of thing, but doesn't search for the truth. Also frustrating is Eddie, who despite his appearance as strong and confident, tiptoes cowardly around the truth. Finally, Luke is an accomplice to the deception the three men have created by not being honest about their relationship to Rory. This lack of frustrating half conversations ending in angry battles is difficult to understand. I am even frustrated with Gina who should have prepared Rory by telling him why Eddie wasn't in their lives, and why she felt Rory should live with his father. However, I still am enjoying the fireworks of the story. The swimming pool was a very interesting scene.

Michael is unexpectedly faced with his outing in a monstrous way. His fear and paranoia that follow is an expected result. How this young man faces it and overcomes the power of fear is unique, and a wonderful story. I agree with other reviewers that this short story is a must read.

A very unique story of one teen that has to face a fear many LGBT+ people have faced over time. Michael is introspective and analyzed his fear with the support of some events and people. He really listened and observed to see his reaction to the fear was something he had the power to change. I liked the hopefulness of the happy ending. Michael seems to have made a major change in the direction of his life.

How do you convince a very powerful, but dead sheriff who is also magically gifted to accept he is dead and living in the afterlife? Charlie, Kippy and several magically powerful friends have taken on the challenge to help stabilize the afterlife from the actions of Lane Tallfield a most dangerous spirit that doesn't believe he is dead and is fighting a war to escape back to the world of the living. Charlie's group uses a lot of imagination, squish and a moment of reflection in this wonderfully funny story. This is the sequel or second half of the story began in I Think This Place Is Haunted, Charlie Boone! This has all the fun and adventure of the other Charlie Boone stories. A very wonderful read filled with a lot of quirky, humorous character to love. P.S. After reading the story, come back to see if you can spot the pun I left here. 😈

I have read this story many times now, and can't believe I didn't leave a review after the last time. I really love this story with all the wonderful characters and humorous dialogue. You don't need to love skateboarding to thoroughly enjoy this romantic tale with a surprising ending that will leave you feeling warm with the promise of a bright future for Goof. If you like stories of first loves, this is one of the best!

That is a common strategy you hold with some of my author friends. That's probably why you write so well, and I enjoy your stories.

Hi Clo! Hope you are keeping warm. Take care of your "old eyes". You'll need them in top shape to keep track of all the kids you will be teaching.
