    Mark's Revenge

I didn't write a review of Mark's Revenge after I finished reading it. The reason is that this book filled with all the wonderful and exciting elements of a great book was lacking in a clean ending. Written from the point of view of the main character it is filled with love, danger, humor chills and intrigue. However, it is only one half the story. In order to see the true arc of the story you will need to read the equally well written sequel, Scott's Story. Together these stories make a powerful tale that will leave you amazed at Roynx's writing. This tale starts with Mark as the main character who is outed by the viscous and cruel Scott. How Mark and his friends deal with the dangers presented by Scott and overcome them is a fascinating tale well worth reading. I recommend it highly. Don't stop there, however. The second half of the story, Scott's Story, completes a this wonderfully complex and fulfilling story. My 5 stars was given as an acknowledgement of the two stories together.

    Scott's Story

This is a tough review to right. First, by itself I would not give this story 5 stars. To understand why I did give it 5 stars, you should know this is the second half of a much larger story. Scott's Story is the second half of the story started in Mark's Revenge. Both by themselves are only 4 stars. Together I would give them even more that the maximum 5 stars. I suspect that they were written as two different novels because they have two different main characters narrating the tale from two different POVs, but their synergy together is what propels them to the highest rate I can give. Therefore, please read both halves in order. Scott is a despicable character in the first book you will come to hate. He starts out that way in the second book, but gradually changes as he gains what he never had, a loving family, acceptance, support and a chance to be valued for what he does. This is a complex and well written story that will grab your heart. It's also has some very erotic scenes that are not trite or conventional.

    Chapter 12

A very complex and beautiful story told in two parts. You really need to hate Scott to understand how wonderfully he has changed. It took great courage to make the call to Mark. Thanks again for a wonderful story.
  4. The Star In My Eye is a bittersweet tale of a little boy who struggles to fit in a confusing new environment. It is also the tale of two loving men who try to be there for him. Things don't always fit the way we want, and sometimes need to be rearranged for a better outcome. Set in Ravello this is a wonderful story of many wonder people just trying to do what is right. I recommend this story because it shows a different aspect of a wonderful village nestled in the hills of the Amalfi Coast. A great addition to the Ravello tales.

    Chapter 10

@drpaladin said it perfectly. I wish them all a much brighter future. Reza and Tiz are great people. Marco now has adults to help, support and give him the love he needs.

    Chapter 11

Scottie has now redeemed himself. Great story. I guess the which brother problem is up in the air, but I can always imagine that David and Devin will learn how to share Scottie. That would be hot! 😈

    Chapter 10

I am personally rooting for David and Scottie. Scottie is much to intense for some one as fragile as Devin. He would make a good brother, but I would want good outcomes for both Devin and Scottie. I honestly think that Devin deserves some one better than Scottie, even if I like the new Scottie now.

    Chapter 9

OK I'll put my 2 cents in on the situation! Are David and Devin both gay? Yes! Are they fighting over Scottie? Yes is David looking for a fuck buddy? No. He is not that shallow. Is Devin vulnerable? Yes Is Scottie confused? Most definitely! Where does that leave the situation? Here's my take on this. @Wesley8890 will probably bust my nuts over this, but here goes. (I like Wesley's brief but barbed comments, and hope he responds.) David is in love with Alex, but Scottie makes a slightly flawed clone. David is not shallow wanting a fuck buddy, but is convinced Alex is definitely straight and off limits. Devin is vulnerable and also wants Scottie. He sees Scottie as someone strong and protective. I don't think he would like Scottie if he knew Scottie's past. Scottie has changed and understands his past mistakes. However is he willing to championing and loving a person that in the past he would use and abuse? That I don't know. Alex is the biggest conundrum. Alex identifies himself as straight, but acts more like a bisexual. He has a girlfriend, but does he love her? As alway, @Ronyx just loves to stir the pot. It's going to be a very interesting ride from now on.
  9. Sorry, I got that wrong. Both my brothers are/were Aries. Dinner sounds good! One was born April 1 and the other April 3. Our folks decided to celebrate mine separately, but usually with less fanfare as they combined the other two on the closest weekend together. 😁

    Chapter 8

I am feeling a lot more friendly to Scottie. He is beginning to apply the hard lessons he learned and is working to be a better person. David or Devin will be a hard choice for Scottie. David is more like Ryan and Devin like Bobby. I guess it will be up to the author how much Scottie's character will arc in this story.

    Chapter 8

That would be a bit sad, but definitely plausible.
  12. Ash is learning. There's hope for him yet!
  13. Hi Page! I forgot that Max's birthday is close to mine. Is he Pisces or Taurus? I'm Pisces and my two brother are Taurus. Hope you had a good day.

    Chapter 7

Old habits die hard, but if Scottie wants to survive in his new environment those habits need to die fast. I like David and his brother Devin. David is kind of like Alex. Devin reminds me of Bobby. Scottie has potential to be better now, but he can't be a slacker. He has to work hard to become a better person or he won't have a better life here than he had before. I don't feel sorry for the spoilt city boy now that he has to work and can't sleep in. Country life is wonderful, but can be damned hard work. Scottie needs to work hard on so many different aspects of his life.

    Chapter 6

Finally! Scottie has a decent, loving family to support him. I love Alex already. Alex was like a strike of lightning to me. Let's just say I have a cousin that looks like my brother, was an awesome guy, was 18 when I first met him at age 17, was straight, and had a lot of Playboy magazines he wanted me to look at our first night together as I shared his bedroom. 😊 That was the best summer of my life.

    Chapter 5

Thank goodness his aunt and cousin are much better humans than the rest of the family. I am also very surprised that Scott has finally been able to see how awful he was and is now remorseful. Talking with Sheila and Alex has given him a chance to release his built up emotions and start to act like a human. His potential for redemption has greatly increased.

    Chapter 4

This sounds like Scott has some deep issues. Is he bipolar? He goes from an emotional high with Ryan at the theater to trying to rape Bobby, then blaming Bobby and Mark for everything. My ex is bipolar (still good friends), and this sounds what I had to deal with for two decades. What happened to Scott has finally elicited a degree of regret. Maybe there is some small hope for him. If his aunt is the same as his parents and uncle I do fear he will not survive.
  18. Hi Drew, Glad to hear that your dad is well and the family recovering. It's still a dangerous disease, so make sure you all are taking good care. Hoping you all reach 100% soon.

    Chapter 3

What is interesting to me so far is how even though I learn why Scott is a sick, hateful, cruel and power hungry, I still hate him. His narrative of the events lack any remorse for his terrible actions. With the exception of Ryan his responses and descriptions of events demonstrate the same cold emotionless attitudes of his parents and uncle.
  20. raven1

    Chapter 2

Scott has got the total extent of my sympathy. He is still the cruel, evil a-hole. What is different is that I thought Scott started the rumor his parents were mafia. It just shows how superficial and stupid the people are who follow him around.
  21. raven1

    Chapter 1

Physically abusive, emotionally neglected, and homophobic parents created a desolate environment for a young gay boy. His uncle's home is no more welcoming. In a moment of panic, Scott does something awful that may make his life even darker. Good start to the story.
  22. raven1

    Chapter 15

To be honest, I am having trouble with the ending. I like HEA endings, but this left me feeling a bit hollow. Scott got what he deserved, but it didn't feel right. Scott definitely is a gay man in fear of the people who should have loved him. His family is very homophobic if his uncle is an example. The writing has been great, and I enjoyed the story for the most part.

    Chapter 14

Sorry, but I don't like Plan B. Not only does it feel evil and malicious, but with the possibility of a gun being bought by Scott it is too dangerous. Leave it up to Randall and Richard's plan C. It's got to be better.
  24. raven1

    Chapter 13

Bobby had a fast recovery, but Mark's early morning gift might have gone wrong if Bobby wasn't ready. I worry about what the guys are planning. Revenge for wrongs done to them is no defense for illegal activity. I am happy that Ryan caught up with them and found out the truth about Scott. However, I worry that his participation in Plan B will put him in much more dangerous position that Bobby and Mark are in now. Scott seems to have no filters on his temper and crazy enough to do anything.
  25. raven1

    Chapter 12

Scott has once again shown his true colors and their not pretty. I'm glad that Mark stopped Scott from raping Bobby again. Kicking him was not the right way to get revenge, but understandable. I agree that they should have reported the incident to the theater manager, but also feel that they should have stayed long enough to inform Ryan what happened. Ryan could also be in danger from Scott, or at least manipulated him with lies.
