As a teacher for several decades, I have witness this same thing happening. The safe schools I attended as a kid, are now surrounded by high fences with limited gates monitored by armed guards. Students, teachers and visitors have to check in and out during normal school hours. The last decade I taught felt like I was teaching in a prison, not a school.
I have to say that I agree that there should be more straight guys like Trevor. However, I have been fortunate to meet several like this during my lifetime. Many of these friends still communicate with me and update me on all the kids and grandkids after 50 years. I very much appreciate a character like Trevor.
Thanks Georgie and Cia for the thoughtful interview. I am following @AC Benus and often read his entries in Mirror of Same Sex Love-Poetry. I noticed @Georgie DHainaut listed as translator on some of the poems. So, I would like to thank you Georgie for that. I am enjoying the poems and appreciate your efforts helping AC. Now I have an idea of what you write, I'm going to read a few of your stories this week.
Some good fun in this chapter starting with the airline employee feline that flirted with Trevor. Trevor is such an accepting and balanced guy that he just flirted back. The reunion with Brandon was great. I would hope he gets to ride one of the horses before he leaves. Brandon is doing so much better than when he was firefighting in OZ. I enjoyed the way you played with the idea of a non-fiction book being written about firefighting using the pseudonym of WolfM as the author. Alpha Hamilton and Brandon have a great relationship and the alpha telling tales on Brandon was great. Trevor fits so well wherever he goes. A nice restful respite before he heads to his assignment.
Hi Page! We're doing good. My cold is down to a few coughs a day, but those will be gone before the end of the week. Thanks for the update on your family. I think your advice to Max was excellent. It teaches patience and effort as well as giving him time to prepare.
I wish you well on the bypass surgery Jim. I had one 20 years ago. I still feel better today than I did a week before the surgery. I was surprised how fast the recovery went. I think you will be surprised at how much energy you have within a day or two after the surgery. Best wishes!
Fix It is a very uniquely written short story that tells the tale mostly in dialogue. The setting is the police station in the town of Waldron, and the characters are the police stationed there. It is the first tale in a set of four novels and shorts all set in the town. I can recommend it as a quick, easy and enjoyable introduction to the town, its police and the author who wrote this heartwarming tale.
A very interesting way to write a story, told in dialogue, that works well for a short story. The ending is a true happy ending for the police station, staff and citizens.
The town is behind them and a lot of progress is being made. That's great to see. The results of this will go beyond a better space, because of all the ways the community will bond over this.
Owen sure had to deal with a lot of pissed off bureaucrats. He also had to take a lot of the blame for something he probably didn't have much say or responsibility. I do wonder how the police force is going to motivate the citizens to support their plan.
You have introduced an interesting cast in the police station. They seem to get along well, but someone along the line made a mistake in relocating the station. There were many good reasons for relocating, but whoever made the decision didn't think about how the citizens felt.
Now the boys have the schools sorted, Armand can relax a little. He still needs to get some paintings done, but doesn't have the deadlines to worry about. I am pleased that they finally have scheduled the long overdue trips to Greece and Egypt. I am looking forward to these. GG will watch over all the kids, but Ronnie will need more connection with her when he goes to Michigan. Tommy has a good plan that was developed with Pat. It is great that most of the boys will be close to home while getting the education they need. I think Richie's advice to Colin with make sure the family has a plane at their disposal. However, a plane large enough for the family is going to cost many millions of dollars.
