You continue to intrigue me with this chapter. It is as unique as those the preceded it. Hopefully we will be able to see how this connects to the other chapters.

Great Race! Had me laughing when Eric was introduced as the MC. Some great characters in this race. I am glad Tasha and Caleb won. I was surprised at the spoiler for the next installment of Spirit Wolves even if we all know it's inevitable. Thanks Aaron!

A very unique start to the story. We now know what the problem is as well as the goal. However, we don't know what started the process. Part of the process to save people also entails that he makes no connections. One small hint was Jase became aware that he probably did/does have a commitment. He fingered the indentation on his finger that was made by a ring. Excellent start and well written.

No one talks to Donovan like that????? Donovan is way more than an arrogant, privileged, spoilt brat. He's mentally unhinged. I'm sure that spells future trouble for James. However, I do like that Roy is taking an interest in Jackie. It is also encouraging that mom is taking the initiative to reach out to others to understand and accept that James is gay. She's going to be a huge support for James as he faces what happens next.

Thanks Page, I went to the pharmacy and got some medicines for the symptoms today. They seem to be working well.

Hi Page, We are both doing OK, but I still have the cold. Head and chest symptoms, but not at the same time. They switch from day to night. Kind of weird. I figure I have another week to go. I don't get colds a lot living here, but they do last longer. How are you, Morgan and Max?

A great addition to this story that promises so much more to in the future. The thanksgiving celebration was beautifully crafted and made me feel good that these people now have something to celebrate. I liked several things that happened in this chapter, some unexpected. Temu and Raven were definitely a surprise and I loved the way they flirted. The second was how Rashan and his cousins are bonding. It represents how much closer the family have become. Also, the information about future plans seem to promise not only more extras like this, but even a new book about the adventures of Rashan, his brother and cousins. Maybe?

The base reason Gideon doesn't send Kavan back to Caspian is that Gideon has two purposes. The first is to get revenge, and the second is to get Kavan to understand that Gideon is not the mask Gideon wore when they first met. Gideon could have got revenge first and strike his sire before visiting the graves of his family. That would have been safer. He chose to visit the places in his history that he knew the stubborn, inquisitive newborn would find out about his bloodsong Gideon. Gideon knows he can't just tell Kavan about himself. Kavan is very distrustful of what Gideon says. Gideon probably also feels that Kavan needs time to think about their relationship. Kavan needs to feel invested in Gideon's safety to feel he is equal to Gideon. What better way than to follow Gideon and be there when Gideon needs him. I want to thank @scrubber6620 for mentioning the sword and agree with his statement. I don't think that Gideon was stupid enough to forget the sword. He left it hoping that Kavan would bring it to him. BTW, I too love this conversation.

The zoomies are cute, but sometimes are unexpected and make me jump. Orange is a sleep or wake at her leisure kind of cat.

Fortunately for Aod and I, Orange likes to sleep with us and is too lazy to get up for midnight Zoomies. She saves her energy to wake us up in the morning with a zoomie up the screen door in the bedroom. It kind of sounds like a nails on chalkboard alarm.

That's a contrast from here. Going into summer is the dry season, so it is more like September weather in the northern hemisphere. Dry, blue skies, warm days and cool evenings, night and mornings. I use the aircon for maybe an hour or two when the temps get to 30 C.

Orange is 10+ years and still gets the zoomies. You would think we grow catnip in all the potted plants in our condo, but that's not the case. She will be calm, the jump off the table or sofa going full speed running through the condo. She also likes to end these runs by jumping and climbing several feet up the sliding screen door to the balconies. She knows how to open the drawers where we store clothes. She loves to sleep on our clean clothes leaving her gifts of shedded hair. GRRRR! I don't think cats ever grow up. They only sleep more as they age.

Caspian has taken many measures to make sure that Gideon doesn't think he is being followed. Gideon did teach Kavan his skills, but that doesn't mean that Kavan is skilled enough to hide from Gideon. I suspect that Gideon is aware he his being followed. Kavan is ably assisted, and with help now knows what Gideon is doing. Unfortunately, neither Gideon or Kavan are doing what they should be doing. They should be trying to find a way to make their bond work to make both of them happy and successful as partners and friends if not more. I love the "chase scene" that began in this chapter. It is a great read by itself. Looking forward to more of the chase in the next chapter.

Orange does that to me around the condo. I also find her between Aod and I in bed when I wake up in the mornings, and she paws the door when she wants out. I still miss my dogs however.

And the handsome studs you send our way. It looks like Albert got so excited to claim the brown eye one to forget to post any food or funnies for us tonight!

Hey Gary! I agree with you. Cats and dogs are the best pets. Like you I have had a combination of both. I want a dog, but condo rules don't allow one because of the barking.
